Colour is lovely, very waxy residue leftThe colour is amazing! However the conditioner in the pack is like a waxy substance which I then had to shampoo out(a lot). When conditioned with my own conditioner it looked lovely. Love the personal attentionI do love the color and convenience. I also love that I can message my colorist and talk about what I'm looking for. I think that this is a great company. I have read other reviews about waxy residue. I have also experienced this and it really bothers me. I believe this waxiness is due to not getting the color completely out of the hair. I do find it very difficult to get all of the dye out of my hair. Sometimes I have to wash it again just to get all of the dye out. Good liked the concept but... I want no ammoniaI think the product ticked a lot boxes for me. As, I wanted to hair dye process that was better than store bought box hair dye. I felt it was a better process and liked idea being able to pre order my hair dye so many weeks in advance because previously i've found it hard to find the colour i wanted from the store (strawberry blonde/light copper) and i would suddenly need it. Colour was good BUT>>> i don't think the personalization is necessary. I rather for my extra money im spending have a more natural hair dye experience containing no Ammonia and have an extremely low hydrogen peroxide content if possible. Because i suspect i will be dying my hair a lifetime. So, i've decided its not worth the extra money spent as it doesn't the tick boxes for natural ingredients. I have LOVED esalon up to this time.I have had perfect success with esalon to date but the color give me was a little darker than I like so I asked them to make it a little lighter. Problem is, it is not covering the gray as well. Maybe something was wrong with this batch, I will try again but am very disappointed with the lighter shade. Worked ok....The packaging was super nice and I was impressed at first glance. The first bottle was a bit dark, and the second didn't cover grays as well as I hoped. Dark Blonde turned Dark Red-Brown - UGH!After detailing i hadnt colored my hair in many years but remembered i had alot of red tones resulting previously, the colorist made a special potion just for me. I wAs excited to try it and then horrified at the result. I sent her a pic to show her. Surely she can fix this. Oh no. She wants me to go buy color remover and pull all the color from my hair and send another pic before she will even ship out a replacement color. So im supposed to go to work with yellow hair from the removal? Oh no. Dye didn’t color my gray hair well/didn’t order another oneWhen I used the dye it didn’t cover all my gray hair. The color is supposed to be dark brown with purple but I couldn’t see the purple at all. To add insult to injury, they send me another one that I didn’t order. I called to clarify.
