Not a good experienceThis really dried out my hair and caused red tones. The ammonia smell was so strong. I would never do any blonde shades again. I would try brown shades at some point just to see the difference. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Great idea but needs some tweakingI love the idea of having my hair color on a timed schedule, and delivered straight to my house. I like the custom blending. My one complaint is that it is not nourishing at all to my hair! Pretty good - but not perfectThere were good and bad things about what came in my kit. The personalization was a nice touch and the directions were clear. I like that it included protection at the hairline for the skin and also a clean up rag for afterwards - those are critical and usually overlooked in store bought brands. having two pairs of gloves turned out to be essential as well. There was plenty of color despite my very thick and long hair which was nice - but where it really lacked was the trueness to the color and the amount of conditioner that came with it. that small package of conditioner was not enough at all. I could have easily used 3 more just to make it reach all of my hair and allow for detangling. The finer hairs at my hairline on the sides in the front curled out from dryness and when I put my hair up it looks like I have horns. It was just like when i had my hair relaxed back in the 90's and had to use pure cholesterol to keep it hydrated enough. The red shade really did not come out like I had hoped. There was too much brown and not enough red and it really didn't have the gloss that I was looking for and get with the professional products. The grey coverage however was excellent, which was my primary goal. I wish it had the shine and color pop in the sun like my professional color, but I guess that's just not what it's formulated to do. Mixed Feelings.So I was going from bleach blonde to black and decided to go with eSalon as I'd seen many videos on YouTube about how great their products were. The first package I had included a "filler" color of red which is needed before going dark again, and then a demi-permanent "Soft Black" to go over top. At first I was extremely unhappy, the color applied black but didn't come out as black. I ended up with a mousey brown color that I really disliked, so I contacted my colorist. I have to say, eSalon's customer service is incredible, super friendly and helpful and has a really nice personal touch which is great. I then got sent out a permanent Soft Black with blue tint color as I had requested, free of charge in line with eSalon's policy which I thought was amazing. After applying that according to the instructions, I rinsed it out and voila, had such shiny beautiful black hair just like I wanted! Now here is my problem, not even two weeks later my hair has faded almost entirely back to the original mousey brown it was that I disliked. I'm devastated, as this color was supposed to be permanent, and anyone who has ever dyed their hair black knows how very permanent that color usually is. I'm extremely disappointed as I thought this would be the best route for my hair but alas it has been a whole load of back and forth between dying and then the product not living up to my expectations. This could just be my hair and it may be that it just doesn't work with it, but I have to say to have a "permanent" color fade almost totally within two weeks is extremely disappointing. Although I would say my experience wasn't the greatest I know there are plenty of people who have had great experiences with this company and products. Refund is impossibleI waited two weeks, no product; requested a refund and turned off auto order. I was offered another delivery which would also take nearly two weeks; after my written request to cancel that order, I receive notice that another shipment is on the way.
