Color setUsed this color set today with okay results. I chose Blue Black, but unfortunately it came out soft black with no blue at all. Can't get through to talk to someone about my colorI have been trying to submit questions about the color I recieved since my former hairstylist only recently shared my color information with me. I want to talk to an expert at eSalon and compare whether what I was sent is close to what I want to match. The website has no call number and the form for requesting help does not complete the submittal. Not what I expected, very disappointedBefore the pandemic I used to do all over blonde highlights with a cool undertone in a salon. Each visit was like $200-250. It’s very hard to keep up the blonde when the salons are closed so I bought an ammonia free box dye at Target and colored my hair in a dark blonde neutral shade. It actually turned out really nicely so I did it again about a month later. And then I started seeing all these ads about custom salon quality hair color services. So I decided to try esalon. I’ve chosen dark ash blonde shade and sent them a photo along with detailed description of my previous color and hair goals. The order was delayed by about 10 days but that was not a big deal. It arrived in a nice box and clear instructions. I have to say I read all the instructions and followed it to a t! Well, first of all, the ammonia smell was unbearable and I thought I’m going to collapse! When I washed and dried my hair I was so upset! I had orange brassy roots and the length was much lighter and warmer than what I expected. It was supposed to be a dark ash blonde! Well it was far from it. I had to research my options how to cover up this mess. I bought a color depositing deep conditioner in light brown and purple to counteract those brassy roots and cover light yellow blonde on the length. That was an additional $60 but it looks decent now. I wish I just bought one of those ammonia free natural box dyes and saved my hair from damage, disappointment and more expense. Pearl goldenMy colour went on really nicely with a pink glow to it. Since I had blonde on the mid and ends and my natural brown on my roots the colour didn't take well to my roots. This resulted in my roots being a dark blonde color and the mid and roots being dark blonde with a pink colouring to it. I had to get another colour from a friend who is a hairdresser to fix this as my hair was two colours. Overall So So...The color set is the same as the rest. I did not like the color I received because it was too dark. My overall experience was great because my husband colored my hair (although he did not like the overall dark hair color). He never would have helped if it were not for having to stay indoors. The color itself looked nice for black, but not my color. I normally go to Gene Juarez to get my hair colored, or touch up with a Semi-permanent. I thought this might be something I can do at home since going out is not possible at this time. I requested a color adjustment today. I actually logged on to cancel, but I’ll see what happens with my request. I received a second kit before I thought about making a color adjustment. Don’t plan on using. Bad Instructions, Bad ColorFirst attempt at home root color after years of salon visits. Carefully ordered color (dark brown with gold). Order info online specifically said to avoid applying to already colored ends because it would make them too dark. But then printed insert included with dye said that it was necessary to massage color through to ends for 3 minutes and that it was critical NOT to skip this step. Welp I paid a premium for custom color, I thought. Massaging through to ends must be a custom instruction too? Nope! I now have brown roots with jet black ends.
