Italian and or Dutch Copywriter and Translator (Contract)

Who we are.

We are a radical team of engineers, coders, technicians, creatives, and colorists coming together to craft a completely personalized hair color and hair care experience—all while empowering folks to be experts at home.

As part of eSalon's international growth, we are looking for an experienced Italian Copywriter / Translator AND a Dutch Copywriter / Translator to adapt our website, ads, and emails into those languages. You must be a native speaker of either Italian or Dutch and completely fluent in English.

This is an on-site contract role based in our El Segundo, CA, office that will collaborate closely with our Localization Team and Colorists based in Europe. This position reports to the Sr. Localization Manager and will work with Product Managers, UI/UX, Tech, and Marketing teams to ensure a native and consistent experience for our Italian and Dutch customers.

Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for translating and adapting eSalon’s original English content into Italian or Dutch, ensuring clarity and quality of experience for the Italian or Dutch speaking audience.
Develop new local content based on research and customer feedback.
Create and maintain our Italian or Dutch language style guide to maintain consistency across site and external communications.
Manage terminology in glossary and provide input on existing terms.
Participate in quality reviews of translated materials.
Highlight potential risks and act proactively to resolve issues.
Deliver projects on time ensuring quality standards are met.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You must be located locally and able to work from our El Segundo Headquarters.
3-5 years proven work experience as a Translator for web or mobile experiences.
Fluent in English and Italian or Dutch. Native speakers preferred.
Excellent verbal and writing skills, with Italian or Dutch writing samples to prove it.
In-tune with cultural sensitivities/preferences when communicating with the Italian and Dutch speaking audiences.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Willingness to work occasional “off hours” to facilitate communication across different time zones.
Excellent communication and team management skills.
A big plus if you have QA or UAT experience.
Experience or interest in the beauty or hair care market is also a plus.
