I used this a couple of times because the first time it left big colour blotches in my hair. I thought I did it wrong but it was right and it happened both times. I won’t get this again. The other stuff is great though

Not sure Im seeing a big difference in between coloring.
it turns my hands darker and has stained my bathtub (easy to clean with bleach!)
but I don't notice a big difference in covering my gray in between color.
i'll prob just continue with the camo spray.

I have tried using this twice now and I just don't seem to notice a difference. I tried using more the last time I used it and then my hair felt waxy. It may be that I didn't get it rinsed out well enough. Not sure if this is something I will purchase again.

It can be very messy. Make sure you rinse well after applying this tint. It easily colors scalp, tiles and towels. Adds a rich hue.

I do not like anything this blue or purple in my hair! After rinsing my hair felt better but I think I glowed. I will not use this rinse. I also felt that it took some of the nice color I just put in, out as in made my hair seem much lighter in color, I do not want glowing hair. I want a nice soft color.

This is pink - not purple. My understanding is that it's purpose is to tone down the brassy colors....it simply deposits pink/purple. The shampoo itself HAS to be put directly on all of your hair if you want even coverage of color, assuming you can use a normal amount and simply "shampoo" it in to your entire head is a mistake. I had a pink top and brown bottom the first time I used this. That being said, if you have a fair amount of hair, this tube doesn't last very long like a normal shampoo of the same size would.

It does keep the reds at bay and helps prolong the color and shine. A little goes a long way, so one can justify the cost. However it causes worse knots in my hair than usual and the conditioner doesn’t get them all out. Worse, it stains all the things it drips on. It is very runny and caused staining on the windowsill when it was lying down and closed!

My thick wavy hair has quite a bit of brass from sun lightening. I've used this three times now with minimal difference. It is also quite drying. I plan to try again, maybe leaving it on longer than the 5-10 minutes that I previously tried. Oh well.

I think the product is good in look and feel but it hasn't modified the red tones in my semi-permanent 'chocolate brown' color that I used about a week and a half prior to trying this product. I was hoping it would work by my hair seems stubborn. ;)

This product has a ton of great reviews so I was hoping it would be great for me too. I have naturally very dark brown hair with a lot of thin blondish highlights all over. This product didn’t do anything for the brassier sections of my hair but instead turned the lighter blonde sections of my hair green. The tint has now washed out and my hair is back to how it was before, but I bought two bottles which are now going to go to waste.

I did not notice much of difference after using this product. Also, the directions did not specify to use gloves, so I applied with bare hands and the product stained my hands red. I would recommend using gloves when applying!

I followed the instructions and all, but I haven't noticed any -- well, noticeable difference in the hair color after using the tint. It could be me, but I've used it twice a week, as instructed, but I've got grays peeking out already :(

I used to use this product once a week in between coloring but at some point about 6 months ago, they must've changed the formula and I don't like the new version. It never made my hair soft, I always used conditioner at the same time, but after the revamp, it actually made my hair very tangled and unmanageable, regardless of the conditioner. Would love it if it goes back to the old formula.

Too runny and too weak

I have my level 7 ash brown hair professionally colored to an 8 natural but vibrant copper. Red does not want to stay on my hair, and the lower ends lighten significantly with every shampoo. I bought this to keep the color after each wash. The first few times I used it as instructed, and it did absolutely nothing. Before giving up, I tried sitting in the tub for an hour with this stuff in my hair. And it worked! But the consistency is so liquid that the application was very uneven. I have to use about a quarter of a bottle and continually work it into my hair for an hour to get an okay result.
I think what many of us need is not a tint rinse, but a semipermanent gel for maintenance. I would rather do a semipermanent gel weekly than spend an hour every 2 days using the tint rinse. Hoping that eSalon looks into that. I'm now trying out some different brands that have copper semipermanents.

I am not really sure what good (if there's any) this product did to my hair. This made my hair feel super dry, like the texture of a broom. It didn't help with getting the "rich brown" color that I was promised. Ridiculous!

The directions claim that conditioner will not be needed afterward, which was not true. If you have long hair conditioner is essential. The color was alright but not worth the effort.

This did not work. Even left if for longer. Still nothing but a mess in my tub.
Tell me how to send it back and get a refund. Tired of trying to cancel my plan and return 2 boxes.
No I would not recommend this product. Color was so far off. Not darkest brown, I got orange hair.

I really didn't see any difference and then I'm upset that it was on sale and I didn't get the sale price for it when I put in my basket it was fifteen bucks but I was going to remove it and then I just seen that they cut the price in half. So i left it in and then when they finalized they charge me the full price i dont think that right i thought it was going to adjust..

I am using the "copper" and it has an overall pinkish tone and has shifted my ginger color into the cooler red/pink spectrum. Not good. :(
I guess I need something that is more of a "Golden Copper" unfortunately there isn't an option for that.
The product smells and feels great though.

I find it works best when you add it to conditioner & keep in about 5 minutes. It’s not as streaky. As for the color… It’s more red then advertised. I will probably try a different tint next time.

Did not do a thing to lessen the brassy tones in my hair, I even left it on extra long, maybe i didn’t use enough idk. But, I wouldn’t try again anyway because it made a lot of hair fall out, like a lot, & made the texture of my hair afterwards horrible. Felt stiff & dried out, even after conditioning. Waste of money if you ask me, very disappointed.

Really dries out my hair

I really wanted to like this product since I was looking for a refresher to add a bit of shine and color in between salon visits. I generally only color my roots between salon visits so this seemed perfect.
Unfortunately it left my hair extremely dry and dull looking. The opposite of what it was supposed to do. I am trying to get some moisture back into my hair but even after two washes it still feels dry and hard to comb through. I can also not really tell a difference in color. I’m really disappointed.

I’ve used the tint rinse about 3 times now. The first time I saw no improvement, the second was a little better, and the third time I mixed it in with some blue shampoo and saw some results. It hasn’t brought my ash back, but it’s better than having the red/brassy hair.

Product looks better than it works the actual pigment which separates from the color swirls is more of a straight up red color which took in places and not in others. Had to color over it.

I only gave it 2 stars because I like the customer service at esalon, otherwise I would have given it only 1. I’ve tried this product over and over again hoping I will come up with a different result, but sadly I do not. It is very drying and makes my hair frizzy the next day. It is also extremely messy in the shower.

I used this product last week. When I used it, I put some in the palm of my hand and looked at it with the though of "Oh, this is not enough for my long hair". So put it on my hair and added more....I went to massage through my hair and discovered that it suds up like shampoo...adding the second amount was way to much...it took forever to rinse and it just felt awful. I was really disappointed with the feeling of my hair after it dried. I am pretty sure my disappointment was due to using way to much. By next day it just looked dull like it had not been washed in a while. So I shampooed again and could not believe how much of tint rinse was still in my hair. After that shampoo my hair looked and felt great again. So my reason for a 3 star rating is because at the moment I don't know if disappointment was my doings from using to much or what. I will update this review when I use the tint rinse next time.

Tammy- Thank you for your feedback! Our Tint Rinse is not a shampoo, but it does have a similar consistency and foaming action when massaged into the hair. It is a temporary deposit color (meaning it can only coat the exterior of the hair) and reds particularly slip out of and off the hair easiest. With your next application, we recommend using less product and rinsing thoroughly prior to masking and drying. We recommend using darker color towels to help avoid staining. While I love the quality and amount of color received, the color is way off what I expected to receive. To help the Tint Rinse absorb better, we recommend wringing the hair out after shampooing or lightly towel-drying the hair before massaging in Tint Rinse. I’ve tried this twice since receiving it and both times I had way too much hair fall out both in the process of using and just after towel drying and combing out. It was horrible.
My suggestion would be if you have very fine hair don’t use this product or just be prepared for major hair loss.

I tried highlights for the first time over the weekend. WOW! It scared me so badly because my hair was getting stiff and I couldn't portion the buns up correctly, so after several attempts I finally just gave up and started placing the highlight mixture on my hair. My bottom layer was thin and I didn't know how far to go in back. This was my first attempt and it was not how I thought it would be, it was hard to do but I did ok with it (I think) I just didn't know far back to go. The 2nd layer no different and with more hair than the first it was even more difficult. I couldn't comb thru it as it was sticking to the bottom layer. I still didn't know how far back to go, I continued to stir the mixture to keep it smooth, but it wasn't going on my hair as smooth and easy as the video showed (guess my lack of knowing did me in). The top layer was the worst as it was hard to keep separated from the layers below. I was really getting nervous by this time. I had it everywhere on top of my head!!! Seriously, I rinsed it out in 15 minutes because I was afraid of what it was going to look like. I would like to try it again, but have total reservations... the video was good, but maybe one that goes into it a bit further! Thanks, P Mason.

After restyling of products, the tub color enhancers disappeared, replaced by toning masks that have no reds option and the tint rinse with copper out of stock. I’ve called and complained for multiple months. No one knows anything but everyone says sorry. Gee. Thank for ignoring the reds.

This product is not very thick so when you open the bottle be cautious of it coming out thin and quickly. The tint is easy to massage in and rinses nicely without making your hair feel brittle. I wish it would give my hair a more obvious purple tint. On the fence if I will purchase again.

Rebecca- Thank you for your feedback! The darker a person's natural or dyed based color is, the more subtle the purple tone in the tint rinse will be. For stronger results with this shade, we recommend lightly towel-drying the hair prior to applying the product to help it stick/absorb more. We hope this information is helpful!

Waste of money, did not work & completely dried my hair out. Regret buying this product!
