Grey coverage was good but could be better for around the temples. Color was good but can adjust on the next color. Nice shampoo and conditioner to use after color.
Wow, it feels good to use a product formulated "just for me." I know it takes some fine-tuning at the start, but the effort as well as presentation and product quality are to be greatly lauded!
I have noticed that the grey returns to my temples after a couple of weeks. Am I doing something wrong?
Gel based colour - easy application although takes a lot of washing out. Had to wash my hair on three consecutive days. Very happy otherwise, good gray coverage and a nice end result with the colour looking natural and well moisturised shiny hair.
It worked pretty well. The roots and the ends weren't the same color though. Roots were too dark for my liking, but I did like how my hair felt after I did it. Ends were a bit on the brassy side but the color softened up. Overall I liked it, just wanna tweak it a lil bit next time.
I do like the outcome of the color,although still not the brown color I am trying to achieve but I hope with spontaneous use will eventually get there.
This is the 2nd time I order and use this product. I'm a natural brunette and bleached my long locks :-( needless to say my hair was lifeless and crunchy to the touch. Getting back to my natural hair color has harder than expected. My hair was in such state that the first time I color it since bleaching it I thought it would fall off (used professional color). I saw the FB add for this product and decided to give it a try. I received my package and with hesitation I colored my hair. I was ready for the worse, feeling my hair like gummy strings...I was surprised when that didn't happen! This is so gentle!!! I cannot imagine using anything else. The color lasts and it's gentle. My hair is looking and feeling healthier in its natural color! Love it!
I liked this color but as summer is now here I'd like to try to go a little lighter and warmer. Not dramatically but another shade lighter if possible.
The color is nice but if you have thick hair you'll have to buy 2 or you won't have enough. My stylist did it with one but she really had to stretch it.

Only thing I thought could be better is how dry my hair felt after treatment. I used lots of conditioner the next few times I washed my hair and it felt better.
The color is just what I asked for...and the conditioner that comes with it makes your hair feel so nice...also I was totally impressed with the fact that they give you 2pairs of gloves...color guard &color remover!!!because I'm not perfect!!!
I've now used this product 3x on my hair, it's easy, they totally work with you on color, it's custom for YOU. I'm just having issues with my grays at my temples. It's frustrating because everything else is great. Maybe it's me. LOL
Thus far, I have been pleased with the product. Still trying to modify in order to get the maximum results. I think I am getting very close. The color is good, but not sure about the longevity of the color. Without having to go darker, I would like to see less fading.
My hair turned out the best color, previously I used Drug Store hair color and it faded quickly. I am pretty much full gray and hard to cover, but Esalon did a great job.
I really liked the color and eSalon gave me a second bottle of color for highlights. The directions were easy to follow. They also gave me a conditioner/masque which was good, but I used too much and it took several washings to remove the excess. My bad. ESalon's color is more vibrant than my previous, Age Beautiful, but the texture is more dried out. I'm trying to decide whether to keep using eSalon for the color or go back to my previous product for the texture. I live in FL and play water volleyball about 8 hrs a week. I hope this information helps.
I tried this company after someone suggested it to me. My previous hair dye job from the salon was .... let's just say I wasnt pleased with it- even after with two corrections. I had four different ashy colors in my hair and I looked so dull. I didn't want to have to pay over two hundred dollars again just for my hair to be messed up. So after esalon was suggested to me, I filled out the questionnaire and uploaded a picture. I made a note to the colorist that I didn't want any red tones in the natural light golden brown I chose. Two days later my box arrived. Not to sound cheesy but after seeing the personalization of the contents, it makes you feel special. I received two bottle (cause I have long, thick hair), the gloves, shampoo, condition packects, two sets of gloves, stain preventer and remover packets and a brush. I followed the directions given and rinsed after the timer went off. Since I went darker, it took a bit to rinse the dye out. I let my hair dye naturally and noticed it felt healthy and full again. The color... it's beautiful. Dare I even say, natural looking? It's exactly what I wanted even though it came out a little bit darker (I knew Demi dye did that) but it put some pop back into my complexion!!! So, in conclusion, I'm impressed. Esalon will now be my go to place for hair coloring. If I even chose to go back to blonde, I'm hoping they add a highlight kit to their line. Thank you esalon and a huge thank you to my colorist!! You've given me a step up in my self esteem and this is exactly what I needed after a botched dye job.
I actually like this product. Going to the pros is sometimes just too expensive and I like that its not over the counter store dye. My only dislike was my color has faded rather quickly. But then again, that happens with red tones. I am eager to get my next shipment and give it another go.
I had a really complicated situation, which was that my dark blonde roots were about 7 inches long while the rest of my hair (which was past shoulder length) was a bleached blonde. I wanted to become a redhead with copper tones, and anyone I spoke to from the companies with box dyes said that it could not be done and that I had to go to a professional stylist. I heard about this and decided to give it a chance, but I was honestly very frightened that I was going to get two different colors of hair. To my surprise, my hair completely blended together from root to end with no variation, and my result was exactly what I was looking for. I'm now trying to go a little bit blonder, and I'm confident in knowing that my next order will give me the results I seek. I'm so impressed!
You hit the nail on the head with this color match. The only thing I don't like is having to do the color myself. I don't always get the white covered in the back.
ESalon has really worked with me to get my blond to a nice shade and I love the color. My hair stays soft and most important the color covers my gray's. But I still have to retouch out growth every 3 weeks.
iT DID COLOR BETTER THEN STORE BOUGHT COLOR. I'VE HAD TO GROW MY HAIR OUT AFTER BUYING STORE COLORING. IT REALLY MESSED MY HAIR UP. THIS DID COLOR GOOD - I JUST NEED TO FIND THE RIGHT COLOR.
I'm at a loss for words. After a horrible accident disabled me and I no longer able to drive my salon visits were just a long forgotten dream until eSalon and the help of a friend. Now even I can at least feel and look like I've been to a salon.
My color was too dark. Darker than the pictures I sent in. I need a dark blond. Please send a replacement this coming Wednesday to recolor my hair.
How long should I Waite to recolor?

Very happy with eSalon. The initial results were not great. I followed the instructions, but I suspect the first method of application affected the color. I was upset because now my virgin hair wasn't a clean slate anymore. I thought fixing it would cost me the results I wanted and more money. Not so! ESalon customer service offered credit to try one more time. I recommend the bowl and brush method and using all the dye, even if you have thin fine hair like me. I waited about 5 weeks to do it again. It came out really great. I'm addicted to my hair color and intend to keep dying it through eSalon.
Used the permanent colour this time and unlike the demi permanent colour there is an odour. Having long hair I do find it hard to follow the recommended steps to colour so I just do it my own way. On Wasing out my hair felt like it was covered in tar and I was quite worried but once I added the shampoo and conditioner provided everything was ok. I'm really happy with the colour and just hope being permanent it lasts better.
love the hair color i chose and love that i am able to change colors if not satisfied.But my only complaint is that I have long hair and need 2 bottles. and even though re touch ups they only send 1 bottle of color for roots i feel the color fades a bit all over with washes and would like to be sent 2 bottles so i can just redo my whole head of hair and get a even tone. but to do that i must purchase that enhancing gloss separate instead of just receiving it as part of the package
I used this hair color for 3 times now and I like the overall experience and customer service is really great. But unfortunately I still have one problem that they can not address. My roots turn brassy all the time and grey hair does not get colored 100%. Every time they send me a new batch it is exactly the same formula as the previous one. So nothing changes....
I love the multi-dimensional color and I like the coverage that I got from this product I will be ordering as long as I want to dye my hair.
I would like to see a revision done on the formula; perhaps a drip-less formula. This product makes a HUGE mess on everything because it drips everywhere. This is not so bad if you're using a light color, but I'm using the darkest brown (practically black) and it drips EVERYWHERE no matter what precautions/protections I take. Please change the formula to drip-less?!
I've used boxed product from the store and have had my hair treated in salons with each experience leaving my hair dried out and unhappy; taking weeks to recover ONLY to be repeated. It was an awful cycle that was until I tried eSalon's formula. Not only do I appreciate the service and customization you can't buy in a store, the product is kind to hair .. I can't ask for anything more!
The color is very nice but within a week, my gray hairs were already peeking through. I have gray all over my head, so I can't just color the gray portions first and wait longer.
Love the color only problem I have is with my roots and grey hair showing after a month. This time with my touch up I actually left it on longer than 30 mins to see if it takes better...let you know
I'm just turning 50 and my hair is brownish-grey with an odd greenish tinge, and I color it brown/auburn. I am in a high-visibility profession and box colors were not looking professional and were damaging my hair. I started going to an all-natural "bio salon" and paying exorbitantly for color, which did not last well even with a mineral rinse to try to extend it. I felt trapped: paying so much for so little, but afraid to go back to box colors due to their damaging effect.
I decided to try e-salon and I am amazed. Not only is my color so much richer and longer-lasting but, get this, MY HAIR FEELS THICKER AND HEALTHIER than when I was visiting the bio salon! (I am still using their natural shampoo and conditioner.) I don't get it, but I am so excited to be paying a fraction of what I was paying. I am shifting my color a bit and it is fun to see what the formulator will send me next.
I have been coloring my hair for a long time. Used to be for fun, now it is for fun and to cover the gray popping out here and there. I thought the coloring process with this was a little more intense than what I was used to from drug store brands (the chemicals made my eyes burn a little and it was super hard to rinse out completely). Although, I also have really long thick hair so that may have contributed to the difficulty rinsing it out.
However, it was totally worth a little extra time in the shower. The color is great, really natural (especially for a red shade) and it has lasted better than anything I have ever used. I was surprised when I got an email that they were shipping the next order because my hair still looks great. Usually by this point with the other brands I've used, I am thinking "ugh time to color" every morning. Not with this. A few grays just stating to show here and there and the color is still really true!
Having a hair color formulated just for me is fantastic. My custom color is Darkest Brown with Red Mahogany Gloss. After receiving my color and reading the instructions, I found the process too complicated for me to do. I waited for a month before giving this a try. Anyway, I mixed the Hair Color of the first bottle and I applied it as indicated to my roots. I was surprised this didn't have a strong smell. Then, I followed to apply the Enhancing Gloss of the second bottle to my ends. This one was too strong and bothered my eyes. I finished applying it as quickly as I could. I followed by cleansing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner that came with. The Stain Guard and Stain Remover worked perfectly. It's been five weeks and my gray hair is starting to show up. The color on the rest of the hair still looks good. I love the color. My hair looks better than ever.
I love esalon custom hair color and was so excited to get a highlight kit too. Beware that if your hair is medium brown to dark your first application will turn hair orange. I should of realized that this would happen from reading the ad and looking at the picture's. esalon cannot get highlight to yellow/ gold and told me to go to salon for this color.
Far superior to any hair dye ever used in my life!

The color I got is exactly what I should've hair but I hate brown hair . I've always had red highlights and there were no highlights in this haircolor if they were they didn't show up on my hair. I've been trying to get to your color chart so I can change the color but for some reason I can't I am not walking around with brown hair I need to change the color and I can't . I I am probably going to have to go to the beauty supply store and get a second rate product because I've spent probably 40 minutes trying to get your color chart .
The color was just as I order it but could have been a little lighter. It covered all my grey and has lasted longer than any other due I have purchased or received at a salon. My hair feels soft and looks healthy and shines.
I do like the color mix, but my problem with the product is two things. 1, I prefer to have the color in a cream form, as it won't drip. 2, I think the conditioner could be better. I have thick, coarse hair, so my hair doesn't feel as soft with your product. A good point is, I will keep ordering it as it is convenient to have it shipped to my door.
ONLY OUT IN PUBLIC FOR ONE DAY AND RECEIVED MULTIPLE COMPLIMENTS. ALSO ASKED WHO COLORED MY HAIR AND WHAT IS THE COLOR. GAVE COLOR BUT THOUGHT ABOUT IT AGAIN AND DECIDED ANY FURTHER INQUIRIES ASKED WOULD JUST SAY IT WAS A COLOR MADE JUST FOR ME. DID CONFESS THAT I DID THE COLOR JOB MYSELF BUT MY PRODUCTS WERE ESALON. I THINK IT IS FANTASTIC. HOPE IT LAST A WHILE.DONT WANT TO COLOR TOO OFTEN DUE TO THE BREAKDOWN OF THE HAIR. DID NOT LIKE THE RECOMMENDATION TO GO TO SHOWER TO RINSE AND SHAMPOO. HAD TO CLEAN SHOWER AFTERWARDS. WILL USE SINK NEXT TIME... THANKS ESALON, I WILL BE YOUR CUSTOMER FOIR LIFE.

Love the permanent color but don't need to purchase all the elaborate packaging. Just need hair color, conditioner, and gloves. Rather have a more affordable product and even sales on your product to continue to use it. Otherwise will look for hair colors (Loreal, Clairol, and Garnier) on sale at drug stores.
1st order I loved it (I was using john fridea foaming color loved it then got hard to find in my shade , i tried esalon 1 color I was in Heaven greys gone color loved it second time around seeing greys quicker not so sure tinking of trying some differnt just to see if its me or the product
I usually spent $265 for cut and color - this color actually lasted longer! I usually sit in color for over an hour at my salon... I did this for 35-40 min and my color as lasted more than 6 weeks - usually my salon color last 4 weeks.

Really lovely outcome - hair felt soft and full and colour was gorgeous! Think perhaps the intensity of colour does not last quite as long as my previous product (and it's not down to shampoo because I use only organic shampoo and conditioner). But on the whole not bad!
