I have 1 little gray on the top of my forehead hairline. After I use esalon the gray is back in 2 weeks. Thats my only complaint. Other than that I love the color and how it dosent dry out your hair and how vibrant the color is
Color was a great match, but was really disappointed that the brush applicator was left out of the box! As a result, I was not able to do as good a job coloring my roots (and grays!) & left a lot of gray patches-not cute. PLEASE include in the next order!
With previous store purchased hair colors, my grey would show up around my root area about 3 week into the current color cycle. I've now noticed that this isn't happening with esalon. The color lasts!
I loved the color it turned to but washing this out of my hair is almost impossible. The dye is so thick and it takes about 3 thorough washes each time.
Thank you for your wonderful service and color matching.. However, my hair has become very dry and wiry with this product. It may be the ammonia as I have not used that before. Thank you for your help and service.
Covers my gray hair. If I have to complain the only thing I could say is I'm looking for more of a true purple tint in the dark brown but we are working on it
I order my color the first time brown and ink why they send me supposebly the same color it came to dark like black a send a message and thes give me an advice to use a claryfing shampoo or the ops color removal and now is worse than befor I have 2 tone hair roots brownish and black the rest totally disappointed 😔 just 5 star ⭐️ to being see it 😢
This is probably the easiest and best home hair color I've tried. However, even after using the "color lock shampoo", my hair feels very sticky and heavy afterwards. The next day when I use my regular shampoo my hair feels better. Also, the whole bottle is too much for me at one time just to touch up my roots. Is there an set ratio so I can mix only half at a time?
I love the product. My one complaint- my hair is extremely thick I never have enough of the glaze or the second bottle of product. I have tried to order more than one bottle however have been unsuccessful.
The color-gorgeous! My hair felt thick and healthy and shiny!!! BUT IT WAS TOO DARK. I COMPLAINED AND DID NOT GET REFUND even after I told them of fading color after first wash. I would like to try color that matches, please only much lighter?
I was very pleased at first, but then after a few weeks the color started to fad at the roots. I t was not new grow out it the old grow out. I have been doing hair for over 42 years and have never seen that before.I can go 3-4 months before I seen that.
I loved loved the color I received. Unfortunately, it faded a little quickly for my tastes, but I think I'll be trying the permanent formula next time.
My color stylist was really nice and was actually looking out for me - I just wish the color lasted a little longer. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week with a color safe shampoo and do not use much product/ heat, and some gray roots are back within 3 weeks.
the color I received was perfect, exactly what i wanted. Very Happy with the result, the instructions were easy to follow the only thing is it did not cover all the grey completely (which there are not that many) so no biggie.
One of the bottles was unscrewed and the contents were all over the box, I called and they immediately resolve the issue.
I wish my root color had been a little darker. I have the most gray at my roots in front and it is a little too light compared to the rest of my hair color.
As much as I loved this product, I will not be able to order it in the future. When I read the ingredients, I must have only read the ingredients for the shampoo and conditioner. The dye, itself, has soy protein in it and I am allergic to soy. I had a terrible reaction from that, which lasted for days. But, the color and the other products were great.
Need to Change the formula.It's still not dark enough,considering the amount of gray I have. I would like to increase the amount of brown in it. Otherwise..I LOVE your fabulous product!! Just haven't "tweaked" it totally yet..
E-salon has been tinkering with my formula to make my hair darker, closer to my real color (before the gray!). I love the color. However, the texture of my hair became like greasy straw, which is why I didn't rate 5 stars. E-salon customer service, however, gets 5 stars. They sent me a free product which fixed the texture of my hair!
It seems as if the covering of gray is NOT as long lasting as it was when I first began using the product. Two weeks after coloring the gray is showing through. Would like to have coverage last at least three weeks.
My hair turned out very dry, the peroxide odor was awful. I'll go back to my peroxide free oil based product. I don't require any refund, it was a fair amount for the nicely put together kit you send. Thank you anyway, Rose Rusciani
Ask for a cocoa color. A little more red than I would have preferred but a georgous color none the less. I like that it doesn't smell or make my head ichey.
Ok - picky about color - that covers it with me....

Oh kay! So, I am an artist and color is very important to me. I tried coloring my hair once before years ago; it was a disaster. I couldn't wait to get to someone to help me out. So - I am beyond picky.
A friend recommended eSalon with rave reviews and so, I took the plunge and tried them. First of all - the said they had a better recommendation for my color. I sent in a picture, so I thought "Ok - colors can be deceiving on the computer monitor. Let's give it a go."
The product arrived and was super easy to use and the results are fabulous. My hair is glowing with just the right amount of gold in my fading (read this as graying) blond hair.
Definitely a 6 star rating, but they only allowed 5.
I am not the best at scheduling consistent hair appointments or having the money available to spend every 6-8 weeks to keep my grays covered. E-Salon has taken care of both those problems for me. No more skunk steak because I let my roots grow out to long! They also work with you easily to get your just right color.
Was a little scared at first due to the way the color was coming out. Thought at first it was going to be to dark with purple highlights. Didn't give it the full 30 minutes and my gray was not covered, reapply over the gray area again with a long time and it covered my gray perfectly.
I received gorgeous color that doesn't fry my hair like store bought colors. Definitely higher quality.
My only complaint is that it came 12 days after I was expecting it. That was a LONG wait.
My roots often are not fully covered with hair color used in past. With a formula adjustment, no more gray. I do feel the color is a little dark on me, hope it fades some.
I've been using eSalon color for a couple of years now, and I love it! I had a great colorist in a salon but it just got too expensive. I tried buying from a beauty supply store but had to buy everything separately, besides I don't have the knowledge to mix colors like a colorist. So I tried the box color, it seemed easier, but the color was more flat and it didn't last. I saw eSalon on Facebook. I filled out my profile, I sent in photos (that's up to you) and I described my goal for color and chose ones I liked. I wanted their opinion and the colorist suggested a color for me. I loved it and still do! You have a personal colorist with eSalon so you're able to adjust the color if you want, and if you have questions you can email or call! They're really nice! The color lasts so much better, my hair is shiny and healthy looking. It's so convenient shipped to your door with everything you need to do 1 application, including personalized instructions, 2 pair of gloves, and the shampoo and conditioner for afterward, which smell amazing! You control how often you want it sent too. It is the salon color but much more affordable. I'm so glad I tried it!
I love the idea to make custom formulas for different hair types. That is a great idea for someone like me, who doesn't seem to have much luck with box dyes from the store but wants to avoid costly salon visits. I have purchased three different color orders. The first order turned out great after I used it. The second time, the color was correct but for some reason my hair felt like straw,grease and also the last time (most recent) I have dyed my hair. Also the last, most recent dye job, wasn't the color I wanted. It looks more brown red, and was supposed to be golden copper blonde, which I'm assuming is because my hair is telling me to leave it alone and stop coloring it and is over processed. I feel that it isn't a company issue, but an issue with my hair. I love this product but am giving it a 4 for the crisp feeling after the dye job. which feel is an issue with my hair and not the products. Maybe I should use less product and leave it on for less time then is stated. I left it on no longer then I was told. So not sure what happened. Also, my hair may be more damaged than I thought it was and just need a breather from hair dye. I love the product and will use again in the future, when my hair has recovered, with recommendations from a pro on color and how to avoid the slick, greasy feeling after the dye is washed out. Color is perfect. Only thing I have a problem with is say in 2 weeks It is like I am washing the color off and I can see grey coming threw. And I am not talking hair growth,
The grey hairs started showing up on the third day unlike my first order which totally covered all the greys and did not fade. My latest order didn't even cover the ear area even though I applied those part liberally several times while I was applying the rest of my hair. I had to use the root touch up.
Good product result. Good quality and service. Ingredient uncertainty.

Good color and tone. Not so red, which is what I wanted. Gentle, no harshness in odor or feel on scalp. I like that the kit is complete with all tools and extra gloves. The only concern is hair loss. Some ingredients can cause this in hair dye. There was one ingredient in the color formulation that only stated that it "may contain" this ingredient. I like the products so far, but the ingredient list needs to be specific and current. No "maybes."
I THOUGHT THE PRODUCT VERY GOOD AND WAS NOT HARSH ON MY SOFT FINE HAIR ,BUT WAS TOO DARK FOR MY COLOURING ,I NEED MORE RED IN THE MIX ,BUT I SHALL TRY AGAIN TO GET THE COLOUR I WANT,OVERALL VERY GOOD PRODUCT.
The colorant has been gentle on my hair, and arrives when I need it. With that being said, the first color has always been perfect. The second bottle of color has been consistently too brassy and red. I've asked for this to be changed, and I can see where adjustments have been made, but still way to brassy and red. I'd honestly be happy with just the first bottle of color if it can't be fixed.

Love using e-salon for color. The products are easy to apply and the color is perfect. The only problem I have is some stubborn greys that are visible 3 weeks later.
Still wishing we could get the color lighter & golden or ash

Since my hair is dyed a darker brown & the original color now is more gray all over; it is difficult to find a color that will take it to the color I am looking for. This time it came out a bit to red for me only applying to roots as directed & then washing it in during shower...I just miss my golden hair. I know that E Salon does not do highlights...but believe eventually we will come up with a color that will cover the new growth of gray & grow out & dark be gone; & my dream color will be there !!!!!
great color, should have bought the shampoo and conditioner sooner to keep the color from fading, it does last though for a month, maybe longer if I would have used the correct shampoo. I will continue to use these products
This is easy and complete. But it was a bit darker than I expected because I had requested a little lighter. It is now very much winter here on LI, so I am satisfied at the moment, but come spring I will be looking to go a little lighter once more. Since "lighter" is a relative term, I would have to get in touch with you about the shade. Thanks.
i loved all the personalized instructions and the packaging was great. The color was a little darker then i wanted but I am sure it can be adjusted. The only negative thing I have to say is that when I was rinsing the color out of my hair it became very gummy feeling and felt like it was not rinsing out. This startled me and concerned me, I began to shampoo it and then it felt better as the color rinsed out. Is this normal?
Happy with the color, it's a bit of work to color hair yourself, but the savings are worth it. The downfall is the shipping. Takes forever to get to me after leaving the facility. Had to call before because it took ten days or more to reach me. Esalon happily sent another out but that took time to reach me as well.
I like everything about this except for one major issue. It takes a ton of rubbing to get the color off my scalp!! I am a former cosmetologist and I have never had this problem before. In fact I might just stop using it because it's so ridiculous. I usually hop in the shower to wash out the product so I take along time to do it. The last time I used it I was VERY concious of getting the color off my scalp because the previous time I had to go back and work on getting it off twice. It happened again! I was like,"OMG!" It is just so thick! What is up with this??
The color was true to the color I expected and was a nice brown. The instructions were clear and the kit was nice quality. I used the brush that came with as the applicator and liked that. My complaint is that 1 of the 2 bottles had opened at the top and some liquid spilled out inside the package during shipping. Not thrilled with that. Otherwise happy with everything else.
Very much like the color,and was easy to apply, the only trouble I had was it did not wash out very well. Left my hair coated and sticky
Used the whole packet of shampoo to try and remedy but took almost 3 days of waahes for it to feel like my hair again.
Heart Lock shampoo makes my hair feel softer but it also seems to make it more oily. I have oily hair to start with and shampoo everyday maybe I'm using too much.
So my hair has grey lots in the front. Browns and reds. I wanted a hint of purple. It covered my grey lovely and in certain light can see purple but not covered great on rest. I have long hair and was plenty in the bottles.
Overall it did kind of work.
Will look for different colour next time.
The only thing I'd change with the formula is to make it thicker so it wouldn't drip as much. Other than that, the color is awesome and it lasts a long time!! Thank you!
