Very easy to use.Did not cover grey around both ears for some reason.Also I asked to add more copper tones and did not see any difference in this order
I love the care that went into packaging and formulating a personal color, however the darkest brown still wasn't as dark as the rest of my hair as I could see a line of difference. It also lightened up a bit after a few weeks of washes. I made a note and sent a picture to my E Salon colorist, so I am giving it another shot. Hopefully the second time will be better!
First off, the service is impeccable and the colorists are all so kind and knowable. The package that I received was on par. I have dyed my hair before at home many times so it was not hard at all. The package had everything you would need, except for the mixing bowl, but you can manage with just the bottle or any small plastic bowl you have at home.
The color was a little light and my grays were not all covered. But my colorist thought it might be light to begin with, after she saw my picture and told me to strand test before doing my whole head of hair (she actually called me to test before I received the package). And she told me that she would send me a new color after testing if it was too light.
My hair after was also very soft after testing. I tested a bigger section of hair (than a strand test) on the side to actually see the color and it was not stringy after, like when I use store box color. I went online to my account and let my colorist know that I needed a darker color and more gray coverage. Waiting for a response... But overall I love it. And once the color is corrected and gray more coverable, I think I will continue the subscription. It is so much cheaper than going to a salon. I can do it at home at my own time without having to sit at a salon and drive back home and all that hassle. And the product is as good or even better than at a salon. It didn't damage my hair. Oh yes, their classic shampoo and conditioner that is in the box was so great. I think I will order that too. I would recommend
My hair was unaffected by the dye, meaning it stayed healthy and very happy. It is important to follow the directions exactly if you are attempting to cover gray. The color I chose is too light for me and right now I can't afford the cost, but I plan to come back to e-salon and I would recommend it to anyone!!!
I was really excited about this concept and its cost bc I had been hooked on the Redheaded shampoos/conditioners, etc. But they never covered my hair at my hairline, scalp or crown of my head. My hairdresser says it’s bc my hair is more porous at the ends, so that is why I wanted to try this. I took my pics, sent them in, and my gosh, the color is amazing and unmatched like I said. The red shampoos tend to make my hair too pink, and unnatural. My colorist w/esalon is Danielle - and boy she got this right the first time!

My first order got lost from the post office. I made a report and my color was resent. I got my color and followed the instructions and wooow...I'm impressed. I got the blue black. I love it. Will repurchase. Will tell everyone.
Ordered the first time, and got an email saying I chose a color that would be too light, so they chose a darker color for me, with the promise of if I didn't like it, I would get a new color for free. My color likes to pull a lot of red when colored, which I had stated, and I have a lot of grays. My first color was more coppery than I had hoped, and my grays didn't get covered well. My stylist adjusted my color and it is GREAT! The copperyness was taken away, and my grays were almost completely covered, and it so closely matches my natural color. I don't think I'll ever go back to the dye I used before. I love having it shipped right to me and I love that I was listened to. At first, I wasn't sure since they changed the color I had chosen, but it actually felt like they were looking out for me and what is best for my hair. I'm also a bit messy when I do it, and I use the stain guard, but still kind of get it everywhere. I love the stain remover, but it also doesn't seem to stain my skin. I also love that I don't have to worry that I'm going to run out of the dye before getting all of my hair (I have very thick hair). I am so happy, I keep staring at my hair whenever I can!
I saw this red color on my hair when I was coloring my hair and got SO scared. Then after rinsing it out, the color was perfect. HOW did she do it???? She never saw me! HIGHLY recommeded.
I got a beautiful auburn hair color( the color I wanted), adding to that the color is uniform on roots ans ends

My color was great in the beginning!! After my second color I noticed that my color wasn’t really covering my white hair, not grey but white. When getting ahold of my colorist I expressed my concerns and she adjusted my color for my roots only. Now the third time using my adjusted color I have big chunks of hair that the color did not even touch!! I’m not even sure what to do at this point, Maybe try Madison Reed?!
definitely comparable to salon treatment, and very gentle on my hair. We are still tweaking the colour to get it just right but I appreciate the feedback and consultations
I love the colour, it looks so natural and I’m happy to pay the premium for the toner and highlights. Cheaper than a hairdressers even still! When someone does it for me I always feel disappointed after spending over £100! Never that feeling with eSalon!
The first time you helped me with a base hair color I went a bit too dark. When you asked about my thoughts after our first try and I mentioned that it was just a bit off, the next color you sent me was perfect! Thank you for helping get the right color and tone.
I am always skeptical of “dark brown” hair color, because it always turns jet black. I have brassy red/orange hair from years of coloring and bleaching. Even though I cut all my hair off, it still retained that red hue. I used dark ash brown and it came out perfectly and colored all my grays except for a few right at my hairline. Hopefully it stays for the four weeks that I have my color on auto delivery. But even full gray coverage and color for three weeks would be fine and make the auto shipment price worth it. Application was so easy because of the creamy consistency and there was barely any smell with the zero ammonia color that I got. I would definitely recommend a salon to anyone that’s tired of sitting in a salon, but wants salon quality.

This is my second time trying to cover the grey hair.
The product is amazing and the company has an amazing response to any complaint .
I give only 4 stars because the color didn't cover my stubborn grey hair, but 100 % I will buy it again because eSalon has shown me support to help me with my request :)
I have not coloured my hair with such a rich shiny colour. it is a little darker than my natural light brown colour but I love it & will definitely be returning in a few months for more. Thank you esalon.
I really like the roots and ends color you have made for me. My hairdresser stated when she used to color my hair that my grey hair is difficult to cover, and she would leave it on longer than usual. The first roots color you sent I followed the directions and left it on for 30 mins. I was able to see a visible lightening of color at my grey roots as soon as I was finished. So for this March root color I decided to leave it on 45 mins. It did cover the grey but wondering if leaving it on longer will hurt my hair?
Love the color and it lasts until my roots grow out, which is about 4 weeks. I have gray and other colors never hold more than a week or so. I would highly recommend this product!!
2 steps to color, not bad but gets a little getting use to. Loved the results! My only issue is that the hair by my part and forehead is showing the gray just after two weeks. And I do use a shampoo for colored hair. Will use again!
My colour was changed slightly by the colourist. I was advised that if I didn’t like the colour they would send me the original for free. I certainly can’t say I don’t like the colour. I’m very happy with it. It’s not too dark but it doesn’t look washed out either. Very pleased.
I went for the 0% acetone to go for low chem and this color just gave me a nice pump of red - not quite as bright as I wanted but I expected this with the 0% acetone. I did email to discuss options with the team and was going to use my second bottle to pump my color and they generously offered to send another bottle to get me to my preferred color. Love the care and easy consultation that they provide.
First time I have used this brand & doing at Home. I am impressed & colour. I was wary & worried it will turn out the colour & will it be messy to do at Home . To my Surprise I was So relieved it was easy . Only thing there was still some my grey that didn’t dye
First, let me say that I love that everything comes in 1 box - even gloves. Although I had followed the directions step-by-step, I should have adjusted some of the instructions based on what I know about my hair. I truly loved the color I picked and was very excited to color my hair using this system. However, I needed to keep the color on my hair longer than the instructions stated. Since I have been coloring my hair for close to 40 years, I have found my gray hair is very color resistant. I look forward to continuing to use esalon to bring out my best color.
I had previously went to a salon and walked out with a terrible color job. I was super unhappy. I called Esalon up, showed them some photos, and talked about what I wanted/needed, and they had the formula made up and ready to ship that day! The color is a beautiful chocolate, just like my colorist described it would be. I’m very happy!
I have always used box hair dye due to the low cost and easily accessible. I was spending endless amounts of money trying to get the desired look, or just simply trying to find something that covered up my grey hairs longer than 3-4 weeks.
Since I've used esalon it's been a game changer, colour lasts longer and looks more professional, I get a lot long between dying my hair than I did with box dyes. The team email you and ask about your preferences - which can be changed as and when needed. I honestly wouldn't go back to using box hair dye now
This was my second order from eSalon. The first one was pretty close to the color I was looking for, and I asked my colorist to change the formula a small bit. Second time was the charm - the color I was looking for is what I got.
I like the idea of having a colorist help me get a color just for me. My first color was good, but not quite what I was looking for. I'm hoping the next one will be more of what I am looking for. The color does last longer and after 4 weeks, I don't really notice it fading.
This was my second application and it went much better than the first. The ends are really dark, but I have only washed directly after the application, I think it will lighten some when I was it next. I will say that the customer service is the best I have experienced in quite some time.
My hair is still wet. Haven’t dried it yet. I think it looks really good wet so far lol. Oh my gosh I forgot to do the tint rinse first. I didn’t do it at all. Dangggg itttttt!!!
I had to adjust the color (which as very easy) after my first use. The shade is now perfect and the color lasts as long as salon color. I also love all the extras. A worthwhile investment to cover gray💜
I wanted a subtle change for the changing season. I sent a note about my preferences and an inspiration pic. My new color came in the next delivery and everyone is saying how natural it looks. Went from a coppery red to a warmer deeper red better suited for autumn!
I love the fact that they personalized color mixed for me. my hair looked nice and soft, I used it 3 times but after that i cant afford to continue buying this product.
Wanted to amp up my natural ginger and looove the copper I ended up with. I was scared to color my hair myself (and scared of hot roots) but the instructions and vids kept me on track for a great result! Will not be canceling my subscription lol
I’ve been a blonde for 15 years and was so tired of the maintenance. It was costing $120 but when I moved, I was quoted $300!! My hair was growing quickly and I needed to have my roots done very 4 weeks but I was not going to pay that price!!
My mom, sister and grandmother have used Esalon for several years now. With the desire to die my hair my natural brown color, I filled out the application, the stylist got back to me extremely quick and less than 5 days, I received my color. The first one I got was great and it matched perfectly to my root color but I wanted it just a bit more darker. With no hesitation, I reached out to my stylist, she changed the color with no issue and I received my color in 3 days!
I won’t be going back to a salon. I love eSalon! If you are hesitant of trying it… DO IT. Your hair and wallet will love you!!
I think it did a fantastic job but I still see red throughout my mid and ends . But you did an absolute amazing job on the color because my roots are exactly the color I wanted. Love it

Received color and instructions and was able to follow them better than my first attempts at ombré with the right hair clips. Hack: I left them in loosely to wash my roots and keep the color from staining my blonde tips, then took the clips out once I had washed the color fully from my roots. The color is gorgeous and took my dingy dark brown to a richness that’s inspiring hot cocoa cravings all around town. : )
It's hard getting a hair color close to the original color shade I was born with. Trying to explain to hairdressers that my hair is a very dark brown with a red shine to it. Not brassy but definetly a deep dark red. I went to expensive salons and I always came home with it being too dark or too light. eSalon is the only one who got it right. It's nice seeing it look normal. I finally can hide my gray without changing my whole hair color.

I have a good amount of gray how long my hairline and this is a great job. They also do a good job updating instructions with feedback. My only recommendation is if you have very difficult grays that pop through the dye, use some foil to keep them in it and you’ll have 100% coverage.
Every month I’m getting better and better on coloring my hair.. very short.. so hard to do just the roots… But I’m getting better at applying on roots.. my hair is so heathy
Because of my work schedule I could not go to salon once a month for my gray hair, I ordered the har color not expecting much, hoping for miracle. I would say it is a miracle, the quality is good, the color I love. I am guessing I am not going back to salon for color.
I am happy with the results of the custom color for covering regrowth. I am a little confused with not pulling the color through the rest of my hair to restore some color and diminish brassy tones.

At 57 years of age I have been lucky in the hair department, I have thick naturally auburn hair which has darkened from ginger over the years. I have a two inch band of white hair around. Y hairline and have never dyed it before.
The products were easy to use and my friend applied it for me, my only complaint is that in my opinion it was darker than I imagined and if I do it again I would like it a little lighter and more album not brown.

My first time with this product I was happy with the colour and it covered my grey bits
Being a red head who'd gone a dull browny colour as I'd got older (typical that by the time I'm brave enough to embrace my ginger hair it's gone brown) I wanted a colour that enhanced my ginger- ness. Shop colours are always far too bright and unnatural looking. eSalon was able to give me the perfect colour which was so natural looking and pretty much my natural hair colour. Finally I was a red head again. After years of being bullied I felt empowered to show my beautiful red hair. I was a unicorn 🦄
Unfortunately I had to stop subscribing as I couldn't afford the price so I've gone back to being a dull brown again (why I listened to the bullies I'll never know as brown hair sucks)
I also think there's an awful lot of waste especially when we need to reduce our plastic usage. It'd be good to give people the option on whether they needed a brush, stain remover,gloves etc and maybe reduce the price accordingly.
my first order wasnt quite my ideal hair color, it just wasnt as vibrant as i wanted so i contacted my color stylist and told her exactly what changes i wanted and what i didnt want and when i tell you SHE CAME THROUGH!!! she fixed EVERYTHING i needed fixed. will definitely be ordering a lot more from them.

Very good colour match, exactly the tint I wanted . Nice packing. Less harsh than the box colours.
I was very skeptical and thought the price was high for this color, but so far the grays are not surfacing. It's only been 2 1/2 weeks so far, but there's not a stray gray anywhere and that's my main concern. It's much better than what I've been using.

While I like that you get a colorist who helps you find the best shade for you, sometimes it's a hit or miss. My hair has gotten very light from highlighting and natural Florida sun and I find that sometime my color just comes out to dark, even when just focusing on roots. Still would continue to purchase, just need to find my perfect shade.

but happy they will be more environmentally correct soon...there's far too much plastic and no one needs 2 pair of gloves. (also for me, the stain protector and remover are unnecessary...) hair is super dry after coloring, but that could be my hair. Love the color!!!
I have been dying my hair at home for quite a while. Unfortunately I started to dye it a little too dark and was not happy with the results. So when I came to E salon a colorist helped me and gave me advice on how to color my hair just at the roots for a while and it really helped. Plus the color is now lightning to the soft Brown that I wanted.
