I didn't like the color I ordered in Nov. of 2020. I told them exactly what I didn't like about the color, and they adjusted my color. I ordered the adjusted color and now I love it! This new color feels vibrant! I am so glad I gave ESalon a second try!
My hair color looks as good as when a professional does my hair - I have always said that most red colors look dyed I have to admit this one does not - I am a natural red head with gray and, of course, the color is fading - this works very well and looks good too.
love it I'm so happy my hair is 1 solid color again as i had a full head of highlights and I'm now medium blonde all over wasn't happy with just the 1 bottle as i told my colorist that i needed two bottles as my hair maybe shoulder length but its very thick told her this she said 1 bottle was enough it wasn't i have a few pieces where my hair is still very light as i didn't have enough but its ok i adjusted my color for next time esalon did this for me they have made my medium blonde lighter and made it a golden medium blonde with 2 bottles 1 for my roots and 1 for my ends happy with everything
I loved the outcome of this set. It did take a while (and I used professional clips & style comb to separate the hair), but the end result was worth it. What made the difference was the second set of colour to refresh the ends of the hair, plus the conditioner.
Quick tip; the colourant is very strong and you may not get it thoroughly mixed within the bottle, giving off a chemical smell. I found mixing in a bowl and applying with a brush to be much better.
I have dirty/medium blonde hair and black with a mix of platinum eyebrows. I chose the copper blonde formula because it matched my mom’s natural carrot-top very bright copperyi at almost 60. The medium blonde works well with the copper to not make me look a little green/peaked with my light olive skin during the winter when I am ultra pale. Also the formula saturates and dyes all of my black eyebrow hairs when I tint my eyebrows. Don’t want black caterpillars with copper locks.
I really like the color. My only thing is that I need coverage for gray at my temples. This is better than drug store hair dye, however I still have gray peeking through. But I want to try again.
The freedom of not being tied to a salon, or ridiculous pricing...wasted time, etc...it is empowering. One part I would change is that next time, I will not use the "shower" method as the last step. I think this is much easier performed in a sink...it just seemed like a big mess in the shower (Dumping the bowl of dye on my head). The whole process was easier than I imagined and now that I have a good base color I am ready to try something more difficult; like the highlighting kit. I will continue with eSalon even after the pandemic. I shouldn't have waited so long to try it!
Beyond expectations. I am a natural redhead and hated the idea of coloring my hair but since becoming a mum , they whites/silvers and greys had taken over! I have been to the hair dressers and at over £100 each time and having a child, I couldn't keep this expense up. I tried the dreaded box dye and it ended up a heck of a lot darker than expected. I just wanted the products the salon use to do it myself, and my god have I found it! My first try using this and it turned up and the packaging alone was impressive, however the personalised touch won me over. I tried with hesitation this morning, I have to say that the instructions sticker is a perfect touch! The colour is perfect, literally just what I asked her. My natural colour , just with a healthy shine. I have been converted. Thank you!!!!!!!
My color turned out great. It's a little tricky to do your own color but I learned what I need to do differently next time and I think it'll be smoother the second time around. Basically I need to focus on doing my hair in sections a little more strategically. Still turned out great and is a nice even color tone.

Has been great colour kit during lockdown when I can’t get to my normal salon
The match was surprisingly perfect, the formula left my hair softer and shinier than my drugstore brand, and it covered my grey's much better. The ONLY downside of this product was the fumes. They were a little harsh. Totally worth it still. I loved this product overall.
I was frantically looking for a good dye after a semi-failed bleach and tone job. And nothing in store was close to my natural hair colour.
So I was looking (initially for Madison Reed but found eSalon by a happy mistake) for one of those personalized salon hair dye online pages.
Anyways, it was super easy to set your needs and pick your colour - first time around I had gotten medium ash brown and it seemed superclose to my natural colour.
But remember the bleach underneath? Yeah after a wash or two that turned it brassy and lighter than intended - which is totally my fault. So I went to my account and added some pictures of current colour and like the colour I wanted to have and Heather immediately got to work.
I just feel like people here care. They don't just let you walk around with a colour you're not 100% in love with. And tbh compared to all the stuff you have to buy at Sally's, this is such a great deal. I'm looking forward to my next delivery to fix the brassy caramel tone on my head and let my natural hair grow out.
I am very satisfied with my root hair color.The wand's color (copper) matches with my root color. I haven't used the camo mist,light auburn, but it looks very close to my color. My end color was too copper than I expected. I didn't pay extra to get my order sooner,but it comes from NY. It arrived 10 days later! It shouldn't take that long. Other than that I am very pleased with my order!
I love esalon! I recently changed my color, and they nailed it. Im a natural red head, Im getting some grey (white), and i am not ready for it. The color i just received is GORGEOUS and looks natural! Nor is my hair dry after blow drying it. On the down slope, not all of my greys (whites) were colored. Perhaps i need to leave the root color on longer than the recommended time. Other than that i love it!
I am very pleased with the results of my colour, it turned out great, the instructions were very easy to follow and the colour kit was excellent with the little extras like the stain guard and stain remover. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars, is that my root colour needed to be a slight bit darker, but it still looks good, it would just mean a bit more darker on my roots for next time. Overall very good service and the colour quality is excellent, even the shampoo and conditioner smell lovely.
Happy with my color and the customer service I received.

This is my third package from eSalon. I was not pleased with the adjustment made in my second color, and the colorists were great about fixing the issue. I was given a kit to get my color back to what I wanted free of charge and am very happy with the results.
I have used this for 3 colorings so far. My friends can't believe I'm not going to a salon for my coloring. The first try didn't take away the grays so I was given the advice to leave on for 50 mins rather than 30 and it works. No more brassy reds 1 week after coloring.
I was really nervous at first whether to try it or just leave in my dresser since I am really in doubt that the color will not turn out the way I expected. But not bad at all. The amount of formula in the bottle is good enough to accommodate my thick hair. The color is also close to the small amount of highlight i have so I am going to wait for sometime to see how its going to blend with the rest of my hair color. I will probably end up renewing my plan.
I liked the color I received the last time, a lot better than previous shipments but would prefer to get an even lighter color on my next shipment. Please know that my hair tend to turn red or orange when dying it. Thank you!
I have very tough gray hair to color. This time I washed my hair and let the shampoo sit on it for 5 minutes, then I rinsed it and dried it. I put the color on the roots for 5-7 minutes and then put the color on the rest of my hair. The color was perfect and it has not lightened up over time.
I really love your product covers my gray really good. The colorist are always very knowledgeable and professional. However, my color was just too dark. Going forward hope my color will be spot on.
You got it on the first try. My natural color no one even noticed that I colored my hair. Which is good and bad. Now that I actually took the plunge after 53 years gonna play with it a little......I know I can always go back to the natural color.
This color lasted a long time in comparison to what I could get from store. I have white, not gray, areas in front that are hard to completely cover. Stubborn areas. Overall I was pleased with color and it lasted as long as any salon treatment I would have gotten from my stylist.
I wanted to lighten up for the end of summer. Texted in my wishes to eSalon and Voila! A new blend was sent with just enough lighter color to make me really happy.

In general the process is easy and and covers nicely. I would like my hair to be a shade deeper brown . Also the process is making my hair dry, perhaps a conditioner that will help that?
No complaints. The color was perfect. I do end up tossing about a third of the product though since I’m just doing my roots. Would be cool to have a smaller amount delivered.

When I was choosing the color I wanted, it was hard to know what I would end up with. At first, I did not see a change at all. ( I guess I chose too close to what I had ) After a week, there was a slight difference. I could tell that it was close to what I wanted. NOW, I know which way to go. Since I’m not going to a salon these days, I will be better at the DIY aspect.
Great rich color. STILL have a few stubble grays around the front that pop through. My hair always feels dry after - but with a deep condition, it goes back to normal. Oddly, that didn’t happen with my cheap drugstore brand. But this color and how much longer it lasts makes it worthwhile.
I have some greys in front, but I don't want to use a dye with ammonia. The eSalon team told me the demi-permanent would not cover the greys but would help blend them. It's true that I can see them poking through a little compared to a permanent dye, but it worked better than I expected! I got a medium golden brown and left it on a little longer than instructed. I'll be ordering again.
It had been 6 years since I purchased this and the quality was the same high standard I expected. Because I want to be sure I do it right, the entire process takes me 90 minutes. So there is a time tradeoff for the cost savings. I uploaded a couple of photos, so the color came out PERFECT. My only issue this time was it started fading/needing upkeep after a month, whereas my salon color typically lasts 2 months. Perhaps the formula can be adjusted to assist with this?
I am 51, thick mid. blond hair, approximately 50% grey. Product has a good coverage ability for grey hair but washes off at the front and temple's areas after 2 washes for me. Nevertheless I have had 3 orders already. Good price. Last time ordered 2 sets to use for one time.
Haven't quite nailed the colour yet, but I love how easy it is to colour my hair at home. The colour has been great, just a little more sun bleached than I would like.

Easy to use. Easily able to change shipment date, if needed. I really wished I had started with a lighter color as it seems one can't go lighter from original color chosen. That said, I do like how my color is developing, with gradual changes made. My first application was terrific on coloring gray roots. For some reason, the new formulas are not covering my roots well; after coloring, the roots are a light blonde, then turn grey after a week or so.
I decided to give eSalon a try since they now also deliver in Europe through UK.
Since I am Asian by birth, I cannot use drugstore formulas in my hair because it won't cover/change my Asian hair. In a lot of EU countries they forbid a certain neutralizer BtC which is needed for Asian and Afrohair. Only available in professional hair salons.
I was quite sceptical about eSalon but oh boy, I was wrong!
IT WORKS ON ASIAN HAIR! Including covering stubborn white/gray middle aged hair!
So instead of spending every 6 weeks more than 300 euros at my expensive salon in Amsterdam I only had to spend 15 euros!!! (and some help from my teenage daughter;)
The coverage is great and I can stretch it up to 12 weeks! So now my daughter ordered too.

For over 10 years I used the Grocery Store product and I would hit the salon whenever I could save up the money. Now with esalon I am able to get the quality I need at home.
It is a beautiful color. The application instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. All in all it's great....except for the gray coverage. It didn't take to most of my stubborn gray/silver hair. What gray it did take to was perfect though. It is just light enough on the gray to act as natural hightlights.
I felt a little overwhelmed trying to do the roots, then later in the process doing the rest of my hair, so I asked a friend to help with the application. I think I can manage on my own next time. Overall, it turned out well. I liked the finished product.
Like many trying at-home color for the first time, I was doubtful. I am 60+ and have a mostly gray/dark blond natural color. I went with the warm beige and love the effect: soft, blond color that varies naturally with my underlying shades and covers the grey very well without looking fake. Is a tad strawberry blond in places but I'm OK with that.
This is the third shipment I have received from eSalon and I am super pleased every time! Even my hairdresser likes it, as she actually used it to color my hair this time!! I suffer with fibromyalgia (sometime worse than others) and right now, between the fatigue and the pain in my arms, I just couldn't color my hair myself. So I asked my hairdresser if she would mind coloring my hair, but using my eSalon product instead. She agreed and when she was finishing up, she kept commenting on the beautiful color. Then she told me... and you're not going to believe this... she told me to continue to get this product, and if I needed her to color it for me, she would, but that this product was very good. She was especially impressed with the instructions (due to the fact that I was changing color a bit) that the instructions/product came with a 2nd step for the ends.
I knew I was impressed - but you impressed my hairdresser as well! :-)
I was sure that the color I wanted was going to come out based on the color selector BUT I recommend you send pictures to your consultant to make sure you get the color you want. I wanted a dark brown but because of the copper tones it turned more like an auburn brown which still came out super good but the color was not what I wanted at the start. It has lasted and I have not noticed any fading or damage to my hair!
I tried MR color on a whim after having used another brand known for their funky colors. After having mostly purple hair for quite a while, the color began to fade faster and faster causing me to have to touch up nearly every week to 10 days. I tried this MR color a month ago and it is still going strong. I have used the tint rinse once per week, but overall, I am thrilled to not have to color as often and to have such realistic results.
I can’t rave about esalon enough! I absolutely hated my hair colour, it was so blonde it looked fake (I used L’Oréal Excellence natural baby blonde), this was the only one that would do something with my roots. I found home box dies just weren’t getting me what I wanted. I saw this and had to try. Customer service is excellent.
I selected the colour I wanted. I received an email saying because of my current colour this isn’t possible. I received a list of options and an alternative colour. I went for the alternative colour, so then over time I can develop to my desired colour.
I received a colour for my roots and one for my hair is already coloured. I needed someone to help with the roots at the back as I’m so uncoordinated, but the rest was fine.
The results are amazing!!!! I know friends of mine will be ordering to try. Given the situation with Covid this is a great alternative. I won’t ever buy from the shop again. I never thought I would be able to be my natural hair colour again. Can’t thank you enough 💖
I will honestly never buy another box of hair color from a store again! My hair is not damaged and breaking like it was from using the box hair color. It is so soft and healthy. Thank you eSalon!!
I really love the way my hair turned out but I feel that the color on my gray came out a little fast but I still like the rest of my head. The instructions were great and it was easy to put in. All in all it is very good.
Shame on me, I seldom write reviews but always read them. I particularly like those that have specifics. Here are mine:
1. It took a couple of times to get the color just right, but that speaks to the true customization of the product versus buying something off the shelf. I was never able to get that just right.
2. I think women must have designed the program, instructions, packaging, etc. (pardon the gender bias), but it's absolutely perfect. I can't think of a thing to change - it's all so well thought through and customized to you.
3. I use the highlighting product in addition to the color. The toner mask that comes with the highlighting kit is AWESOME - it does something to my hair that seems to add volume and texture. It's meant to even the tone of the hair and does that as well. You can buy this product separate if you don't use highlighting - I've done that for in between times.
4. I bought the shampoo only once so can't speak to it as much. I thought it was ok but was really hard to pump in the shower.
Overall, I am super happy with the website, the product, the scheduling, the customization and the service. I'll never go back to over-the-counter and have no need for a professional.
I got a really short haircut and when I applied the color set it did come out a lot darker. I expected it since my hair is really short and more grey was visible plus Esalon had warned me that it would be darker so no surprise there. I ended up
doing a lot more root work then normal so of course the hair color came out darker. I think next time I want it to be a tad lighter if I am going to keep my hair that short! It really made the Light kit come out which made up for it! I applied it two weeks after I did the color. Covering the grey was great and the brassiness was mostly gone.
Three times is the Charm. The first time the color was Blah! The 2nd time it came out 2 different colors. The Third Time is PERFECT! My Colorist was Brianna and she knew just how to fix after I sent a picture. Esalon didn’t even charge me. I will keep using them.
I loved the hair coloring kits that i have received in the past and I’ve been slowly lightening up my hair 1/4 shade. The stylist have been very helpful in listening to my wants/ adjusting my color. However, this time my gray did not take and still remain gray at the roots.
I have short hair and got tired of paying $75+ for color at my salon. I had tried esalon a while ago and had good success so I thought I would try them again. Color is great but saving big money makes it that much better!
I am a DIYer and have always been! Before quarantine I was indulging in regular professional hair color services, but even though I could go back to them I will NOT be!
I love the ease of this service, the price, and the super organized instructions. I have gotten more compliments on my color then ever before and I love to tell my friends all about it! The only issue is the lengthy shipping time, which I believe I will account for by ordering in shorter time frames. I was on the every 3 month plan, but will probably switch to every 2 months.
When I put my initial custom colour on I could tell it was too dark and washed it off after 10 minutes. It wasn't terrible I didn't love it. I sent in a request to adapt it and now it's perfect. I even had shipping issues and esalon sent me a replacement kit at no charge.
I don't have a colourist where I live and I no longer travel to the city I knew someone so I am elated that the colour is so good !
I was somewhat skeptical with the end results of this custom color set because the "drug store" variety just doesn't seem to cover the gray. After using eSalon the only root areas showing were due to (my) user error. It is so important to apply enough solution by properly parting sections of your hair in order to cover up those nasty gray roots! It's so comforting to know I've got a back-up plan when going to the salon is not an option.
I took a chance with ordering. While the first color was just a little bit too red, the revised color is perfect. They listened to my concern after the first time and changed the color perfectly. I can’t tell the difference between this color and what I received at my former salon. I saved money with this purchase by not having my hair done professionally (which is still allowed where I live). I am just not ready to go gray yet and this makes it easy, especially during the pandemic.
My hair color formula is very good. I need more experience in applying the formula. It’s difficult to avoid coloring the ends, which ends up darker than roots.
After 20 years of paying someone else to color my hair, I've done it myself 3 times now thanks to eSalon. And now I realize I'll never need to pay a salon for color again. The instructions are easy to follow, everything you need is right there in that little box. This has saved me during the shutdown, but I'll keep using it long after we return to "normal".
I was skeptical about ordering this product that I found on Facebook. I kept ignoring the reoccurring ad until one day my 6 yr old granddaughter said, Grandma why don't you color your hair so you don't look so old? Store brand hair dye always left my hair feeling like straw. I kept this product on the shelf for about a month. Since I was on mandatory COVID quarantine I decided to dye my hair. I was amazed! My hair color looks very natural, soft, and healthy! The only disappointment is my gray hair reappeared approximately four-weeks after dying it.

After a very terrible set of hair colours, eSalon managed to colour correct my hair from photographs, now we are working towards putting it back to it's natural colour and I'm so pleased to find a service that works for me.
