This coloring system is great. I love the color that was created for me and I have gotten a lot of compliments on it! It is very rich and multidimensional.
Everything was spelled out perfectly and I followed the instructions exactly how it was stated in the instructions. I think because it was quite different than how I normally color my hair at home, it came out a bit darker than it was supposed to be—however, I believe that it was my fault for not adjusting the time slightly to accommodate for it taking more time to apply.
I have one minor complaint that there is a lot of packaging. It does make everything a lot easier—so I don’t know that anything could be changed or consolidated, it just was a lot to recycle/toss.
So why 4 stars and not 5? I selected this product because it was supposed to leave your hair in better condition than store bought color, however, I did not find that to be the case. YES, the color does last longer, but now my hair is so dry it is constantly getting tangles and I can only comb—not brush—my hair. A disappointing finish for what seems to be an otherwise great product.
I was a little nervous at first about going from blonde to red but I absolutely love the color you developed for me. The only problem I had was it did not dye my roots to well. I will put more on my roots next time around.
Using this was easy & I will keep using it! My hair did grab the color. It was a little darker than I expected, but I trust my stylist will work with me to fix it.
I loved that my
grey's were covered for 7 weeks. Other color's I've ever used did not last more than 3 to 4 weeks. I love this product and have recommended it to all my friends and family already.

I have spent years trying to find a good mahogany medium brown colour to use at home and every single time my hair just colours dark brown/black!! I have to wait for the colour to fade out for weeks before its anywhere near the colour I had hoped for. Finally, I thought id try esalon and for the first time ever I immediately have exactly the shade I want. I absolutely love it!! I started out with the introduction pack at a reduced price which was great and full of essentials. The shampoo smells devine!! I am now only ever going to use esalon and my second dye is onroute!! I really cannot recommend it enough you wont be dissapointed I promise!!!

The colour of my hair is gorgeous, even through out (thanks to separate colours for roots and ends), and shines like otter’s coat!
The reason why I gave 4 stars is because the colour came out dark burgundy brown rather than medium pearly brown.
Never the less it is beautiful colour and I had such colour in the past thus I am not too fussed over it coming differently than expected. In fact I signed up for autoship every 5-6 weeks for same colour. However if somebody wants their colour exactly as per colour chart they might be disappointed with the result.
Perfect color. So easy! One suggestion however; I saved the brush for applying color from a previous order. Sad that you’re not including this applicator anymore. Thanks!
My color set has sat under my bathroom sink for a couple of months now as after I placed the initial order I ended up getting salon color. Eventually, I got back to a point where I didn't have the time to make an appointment with a stylist but hated how washed out my last highlight made me and my fair skin appear so I busted out my eSalon color and gave it a shot. I love the color! It looks great a day later. I'll be interested to see how it looks after a few washes and how it grows out. Regardless, easy to use, better than buying drugstore box color, but my only complaints are that my hair has a really interesting (not great) smell to it today. I think that's in part due to the fact that even though I've washed my hair three times now (with the provided shampoo and conditioner and my own) some of the color still hasn't come out. The majority of my hair feels good, not too dry, but I can still feel really sticky residue leftover in parts.
Color, developer, gloves, stain remover. Boom. I happened to have a brush and bowl already at home and now I feel like a pro. Kind of. The only thing is I make a mess of my towels and shower curtain.
For the price, you can't get better.
I love the color but just a little too red for me but I know we will get it fixed in the next bottle I get from E salon! I do however love the coverage of my greys! I have never had a hair color fix my greys like this one!! I just love it & it was so awesome to have delivered to my door.
This was easier to apply than I thought it would be. I did it myself so just used the bottle, missed one or two small spots but that was my fault. The color went on easily and the directions were great. My gray is very color resistant, but this color seemed to "stick" better than the store bought brand I usually use. Gray areas are slightly lighter, but like I said, my gray is stubborn. I like the look of the color, it looks natural and not flat. I lioved that it came with 2 pairs of gloves and the cream to apply around your hairline to keep from staining the skin.

I had so much fun with getting my custom color, I hope my stylist did too. In the beginning I had an idea of what I wanted and with each trial, I would take a photo of the color and send it to my stylist and say what I liked and what could be changed, such as this is a little to light, more gold, could the same color be a shade darker or deeper or richer. Changes would be made and after 6 months I finally figured it out and got my perfect color. I really did like trying the colors as they came. I never felt that my requests were not being heard and I never felt as if my stylist was annoyed with me or frustrated with me.
Since I have been using this hair color my hair looks healthy and feels great.
Color is fantastic. As far as the highlights, when mixing the activator with the highlight powder, while it did get creamy, it was not creamy enough. It had a paste-like texture, but there was enough to cover the hair, though barely. Please advise further on this for me.
I used to dye my hair myself with standard black box dye from the supermarkets. It always looked patchy and just never made my hair feel that great, but I couldn't really afford to go to a hair salon. I saved up some money and eventually did go to a professional, since I wanted to go a tad lighter with my hair colour. Although the results were okay, I just didn't feel like it was worth the money I was spending. After reading reviews of this hair dye - I decided to go for it! The colour is perfect, exactly what I wanted, a rich chocolate brown. My hair feels super soft and looks so healthy. Will definitely be dying my hair with this from now on.
So I really love this color and an thinking when I do it again it'll be better. My only issue is that the instructions said 10 minutes on the full head after the roots part and I wish I would have left it longer as I had some blonde chunks that still are a bit too blonde. The roots are just the color I want and my hair doesn't feel or look fried. Also no stingy scalp during the process. I'm impressed.
and updated my shampoo to help it last longer. I noticed that my grays used to come back after only a few wash. Found a shampoo for colored hair and it also makes the color more vibrant as well as last longer.
Decided to try a more golden tint for spring and it was perfect. I was afraid it was going to be orange but it was a hint of gold instead. Perfect and my hair feels great like it wasnt even colored.. totally natural.
But I didnt get the hair clips or bowl or cape...
The color last longer without that fading, stays softer also no more straw feeling. If the color isn't perfect, they will tweek it for you until it is perfect, can't get that in a box!
I haven't had a compliment on my hair color in years but I got one after using this product only two times. I was thinking about going gray because of the hassle and cost of the hair dressers every month but not now. I love this product.

I'm a hard sell. My hair is a true medium ash brown but contains strong red undertones that pop out when I use box color, rendering my poor hair orange every time. So it's been either boring, flat brown that depresses me OR budget-breaking lighter happiness. I dyed my hair with a drug store color for cartoon hair. It was fun but there came a time to straighten out the color. I had decided I wanted to try red but I wanted a red shade that looked like something God had created not something that looked fake. I took the quiz to find a shade with eSalon and they created a color. I love it. Next time I want to lighten it a little and I know they will know exactly what to do. It works. $10 intro and $20 after that.
When I first used eSalon they didn't get the color right the color my roots were darker. The colorist did take care of the matter right away. And now the color is Perfect.
I think this is as good as professional hair coloring. The whole kit is sent without having to purchase anything extra. I have to say the smell is a little strong but it doesn't bother me.
I told them what I didn't like about the first color and they listened! Not only that but my color leaked during shipping and they sent me a new one asap. What wonderful customer service.
I love the color. loved every thing that came in the kit. i followed the instuctions to the letter, however i have spots with gray showing through in the lenght. hair was totally saturated with the 2nd application, however i dont believe leaving on only 10 minutes for that part was long enough. the root part covered great no gray showing there at all but have areas when gray still showing and its very viewable with the dark color.
I like the color composition and am very happy with my package. Only suggestion I have would be to include the shampoo and conditioner in a bottle instead of the paper wrap they come in currently. It just helps in making the best use of the quantity.
My hair normally feels a little plastic-y after colouring but with this colour it is just so soft and lovely. I love the colour too although I do need to adjust it slightly but that is my fault for not understanding what I was after on the firt try. Can't wait for the next one!
First off, there is a little bit of a learning curve. The first color that I picked didn't turn out anything like the picture that represents it. So my suggestion would be to definitely upload pictures and include a message with exactly what color it is that you are looking to achieve. With that said, after my first try coming out too dark, I called customer service and they did everything they could to fix the problem. After sending pics and consulting over the phone with the colorist, some adjustments were made and my color is perfect! I also love that it doesn't dry out my hair like other dyes that I have used. My hair stays soft and shiny, which is a huge plus for me! I love the auto ship and the packaging is super cute!
I like my hair color. Had to make a few changes I was getting a lot of my red which is natural coming through with the color. No fault of the stylist. So I spoke with them and we changed it they out a little more ash in it but my darn hair does have a lot of pigments of red. I will have to learn to deal with it. But overall the color is beautiful and makes me look a tad bit younger. Yeah esalon stylists you are the bomb and you gave saved me more money just by doing it myself thank you.

This was my first time using this service. I loved the customization of colors that I could pick. I picked something I thought was close to the color now. It wasn't. They tried calling me, emailing me. They said it wasn't going to be ok. I ran short on time and didn't listen. I get my color. It is packaged so pretty. Instructions on point. I think that this will be great. Then I wash it and dry it. I am so pale and my hair is soooo dark that I look like a vampire. I give it to this company... They are legit, nice and prompt. They try to go out of their way when they think you are making a mistake. If I would have listened, I am sure it would have been great. Instead, the color did exactly what I was sceptical of, it is permanent! No fade yet 4 weeks in. I asked them to lighten the color and they will probably have a couple sessions to get it light enough again, but they are super nice about it. I will love this stuff with the right color! Oh, and don't forget their hair clips!
First time in using E-Salon, showed them a photo of my hair. My first use was to cover up the roots which are really quite grey. When it arrived i did what was advised. Was quite happy with the out come although still have a patch at the crown that didnt lighten up to the rest of my hair. But overall happy. Looking forward to getting some feed back from Paul as i sent a another picture of my hair once done.
I really like my custom color set. I'd like to try something in a different color- an offset color someday. That would be a refreshing change. That's the only difference I'd make.
I love this hair color. It goes on easily and does not fade as fast as the store-bought colors. Plus, it's nice and even, from root to tip.
There is more waste in packaging than I would like, but I recycle what I can.
I did not expect to like this product. I placed my order and then went back to read reviews. A lot of what I saw was that it was too waxy and thick. Sure, I made a giant mess and it looks like someone was murdered in my bathroom, but I seriously LOVE the results!!! It was so nice to watch videos despite having colored my hair at home for years. I was trying to spice up my faded out blondish-red with a bolder light red. The texture of the dye was just fine, it was also nice that I was given the “ends” color for free the first time. I wouldn’t have known to do that and I think it really did make a difference! One complaint was the smell. The ammonia smell was insanely strong, more so than any other dye I’ve used before. I forgot to turn the bathroom fan on and got really light headed. I work with chemicals and am not usually sensitive to the smell. The other thing I wished was different is that the tone be more definitely copper than purple-red. I think I’ll communicate that with my “chemist” next time.
I was using it to cover the gray that was getting more plentiful in my hair. It didn't cover completely but looked like I had light brown highlights. I just don't use it often enough to keep doing it. I have about a 1/2 dozen packages to still open. If you do want to try this, it looks very natural and is easy to take care of.

I am soooo glad I found this web site. I was spending 120.00 on my hair but wasnt happy with the color. The hairdresser would not listen to what I wanted in my hair color and I was very frustrated with her but didnt want to go to another one, figured it would be the same. Then I saw esalone on pintrest. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. So glad I did. They comunicate with me all the time. I am never on my own, they are always there to help me. I know when my color is coming and am asked if I want to make any changes before they send it. I am very happy!!!!
I just started coloring my hair and I am happy with this product. I'm not sure I applied it right the second time because my hair is quite a bit lighter.
This is my third color set and after the first, I asked for a slight color adjustment. Since then, the color has been absolutely perfect! I love it and it's so easy and convenient. It costs more than the store brands and I'm not sure yet if worth the price. But, still less than a salon.
I never, in a million years, thought I would have the PERFECT 1-of-a-kind hair color. I no longer have to “settle” on the limited, blah colors offered in a store or by a beautician. My color matches my skin tone and my age. I am 54 years old, with a lot of gray in my hair. When I was younger, I used to be repulsed by women, who colored their hair, with such extreme colors that they looked fake. I remember having pity on them, thinking “They think this is better than just letting their hair go grey...NOT!” And of course, I was scared I would wind up looking the same way, at that age. However, thanks to eSalon, I can wear hair colors that are perfect for me at any age! I won’t have to be limited in my color choices. I can create the color that is right just for me. The sky is the limit!
I went from name brand at home hair color, to super expensive salon coloring and back to home hair coloring with giving esalon a try. I was very impressed with the packaging, the directions, the personalization of color and tweaking of future orders as well. The color lasted much longer than the drug store varieties(and I have tried many!) I got a full 7 weeks in between coloring when normally 4 would be showing a lot of grays and dull faded color.
The kit is easy to use and the price although more than store brand is definitely worth it, and so much less than the hundreds of dollars spent at the salon. Give it a try, I think you'll be impressed too!

I however have dyed my Hair to much and had to have my color lifted. It will be a while before I color again. My hair needs to have a rest. Me also 😊 your dye is a good one.
I have never dyed my own hair before, but I must admit I am hooked. Easy directions and no mess. The only problem I have, are those little stubborn grays that sneak in. My whole head will be colored and gray hairs will decided to show itself in sporadic places....even the back of my head. Other than that, I will continue to use this product.

I'm very conscious of my hair care products after transitioning from harsh chemical relaxers and awful experiences of drugstore brand color enhancements that left me disappointed far too many times. I only color my hair 2-3xs annually. Yet, I've colored my hair for years sadly with less than satisfying results but now after discovering a hair color treatment which provides vibrant color, without drying my hair nor having an awful offensive odor during application is priceless. I've had salon treatments that have been costly &/or after spending hours to gain similar results. My eSalon color treatments have never altered the natural state my kinky, coily texture nor have it changed my natural curl pattern -which is awesome. I'm impressed and will continue to color my hair with eSalon products. The way my hair feels after color treatments are remarkable, it's soft and detangles with ease. I also used the leave-in conditioners, along with my personal favorites. I'm pleased with the personal consultant's feedback and I adore the quality of the packaging with the added touch of my very own name appearing on the labels. I've referred this product line to others as I highly recommend it to anyone especially, those who seek to apply a safe and effective color treatment to your kinky, coily, thick natural hair.
Initially, I thought the color was going to be too dark but by the time I finished it was perfect. The last step in the instructions, in regards to using the remainder of the product mixed with water to rinse your hair, I think made all the difference from it being too dark to being perfect.
I did a copper auburn. I always see women with red hair that doesn't look natural. I want it to look natural and this does. My hair is medium ash brown with gray around the face. I have never liked my color. This adds a little less mouseyness to my hair with out it looking fake.
I had been using the drugstore version of hair color for a while, but found it faded and my hair was blah and dried out. Went back to E-Salon and my color is still vibrant and my hair is soft and manageable. The color is just right, too, and I like that I can tweak it to my preference.
The change in the instructions have covered my gray roots! I like the color but now that we have figured out how to do my gray maybe just a tiny bit more red. I do so appreciate all the help and hints you have given me.
Everyone thinks my hair color is natural and I get complements all the time. Someone even said she loved my highlights, even though I just do an all over color. Drug store hair color makes my hair dry and frizzy. I'll never go back to using it!
Unlike most red haircolor this one doesn’t fade or wash out. It doesn’t have the harsh ammonia smell you get with most hair coloring solutions and the hair color plus shampoo leave my hair very soft and silky. .
I am thrilled that I can color my stubborn grey that covers 99% of my head. I wish that the color would not fade as quickly as it does. Upon application the color goes on dark, then fades a few shades lighter with every wash. My overall color experience is excellent.

I have returned to e salon after hopeless search for colour that would cover my stubborn grey. But must say this colour is best for it. Lovely shades too.
I am 55 and had been 1st buying color over the counter. It never fully covered my gray. The longer I let it stay in the darker it became and still never covered. THEN- I started going to my lady that cuts my hair. That was $80.00 bill every 3 weeks. I was frustrated ! THEN I FINALLY FOUND E- SALON OMG! SO HAPPY! not only does it really cover your gray I picked a beautiful chestnut brown with reddish tones. I am very happy with me new color. I am on my 3rd order and get lots of compliments!
e-Salon is always at the top. I have used and paid for products and services that cost MUCH more and not quite as good as e-Salon. Have no doubts and join now!
I used this while on vacation and my hairdresser commented that he could not tell a difference in color. But what sold me on this product is it does not burn my scalp like the product my hair dresser uses. I plan on coloring my own hair from now on.
It's a wonderful product. I have stubborn grays and it covers them masterfully. It doesn't leave my hair brittle or noticeably damaged.The only problem I have with the product is when it's time to rinse I have clumps of color that does not come out easily. It takes me a while longer to get the product out but all in all it does what it claims.
