I could not believe the color. It is a natural looking red copper it covers grey well and don’t fade like most reds do. As long as I can lift my arms over my head I will color my hair with E-Salon color made for me. It has my name on the bottle.

This kit was fantastic, I had so many compliments about the colour of my hair.
The only thing I would say is it is very strong in smell when applying, so make sure you do it in a well ventilated room
I was very concerned with colouring my own hair. I'm a natural dark brunette and it has taken me 6 months at a salon to get the light colour of copper I am now.
I just can't afford to keep going to the salon...When I found eSalon I was excited but also scared as I didn't want to mess up a good thing. I filled in my profile with A LOT of details, and I also attached photos of myself with my hair colour.
My order came in, I obsessed over watching their tips videos, and then I went for it.
Besides having a few small spots of my roots I missed ( hey no ones perfect) the colour is BANG ON!
Exactly the colour I asked for, and my hair is very shiny. The step by steps are very helpful and the shampoo smells great after.
I will definitely continue my monthly plan, and recommend this site to my friends.

I was very pleased with the speed in which the colorist responded to my issue. It was a case of the paperwork showing the old color, but the formulation was actually the updated, light brown color. Although the paperwork showing dark blonde was confusing, I truly appreciate the company's acknowledgement of my issue and the quick response. Thank you eSalon!
My initial shipment was a bit light (dark blonde) so I requested an adjustment on the second. The second shipment (light brown) which contained the adjustment was much better. When I went to color my hair with the 3rd shipment, I found it reverted back to the original too light formulation (dark blonde again). It is not the quality of the hair color that is the problem. It is the fact that this is supposed to be convenient. Receiving the wrong color makes it frustrating when you already asked for and received the adjusted color on the previous shipment.
I have to say that even with the stain guard, this product does stain my skin a bit more than drugstore products I'm used to, but it also lasts longer, covers my grays better, and has so much dimension! I have very dark hair with a fair bit of gray in the front so it's tough for me to get a color result that's not matte dark brown but also doesn't turn brassy on the gray parts after a couple washes. This color does it. I get a full six weeks (maybe even seven!) before my roots are long enough to have to recolor, and at around the same time, the lighter hairs start to turn old-lady orange, but I get a full six weeks of great-looking brown color with gold highlights before that time comes so it's well worth it to me. This is definitely a great compromise between a cheap-looking drugstore dye jog and a too-expensive salon trip.

Gray coverage is good and it is easy to apply and doesn’t dry out my hair. The home delivery set up is very convenient. My hair has turned reddish over the past year, however, and the red gets more pronounced as time goes on. I have not been able to successfully get the red tone corrected as of yet, so the home application looks good for about two weeks then starts looking too red. This is something I am working with my esalon stylist with.
Pretty good match for my colour before the grey set in. I was very ginger with lighter blondish ginger. this colour is a little bit pink but I'm hoping it can be tweaked again to be a bit more ginger.
I followed the directions, and just did the roots and the emulsion, and I am thrilled with the results. My hair lightens a lot in the summer months from, I assume, the water from swimming, and then, after a few weeks of not swimming, I have darker roots with a few gray strands. In the fall/winer months, I do choose to lighten my roots, however lately, I haven't been wanting my roots as light as the rest of my hair. I want them to blend, and be a little darker, so I do not have to color as much. My results from my 1st use are PERFECT!!! I am hooked. Thank you!!!
I reached out to e-salon as I was not sure how to colour my hair due to its condition.
The ends of my hair were over-processed due to permanent wave treatment one year ago plus multiple colour treatments with home kits bought at the pharmacy. My ends were highlighted, which made them even drier and the colour difference between the roots and the ends was drastic. I couldn't dye my hair at home anymore as the ends always produced an unexpected result whilst the roots looked as expected.
E-salon managed to mix two different formulas to colour first my roots, then my ends for another few minutes at the end from a different bottle.
The result was great - a lovely natural colour that looked great both at the ends as well as the roots.

At first I was worried, will I be able to make this looks like a salon if not better. This is definitely not a box color from your local retail store. Very impressed, my color came out great. It was slightly darker then what I been use to, however it looks healthy, shinny, no loud or harsh smells after. I will be a returned customer.
I have been coloring my hair for well over 25 years...either in a salon or at home. I’ve used every drug store box ever invented, I’ve bought powder mixes, gels and liquid colors at the beauty supply. I’ve paid from $45-$300+ at neighborhood beauty parlors and high end salons and I have NEVER been as thrilled with the results as I am of this formula. I am shocked. The color is rich, creamy, deep and shiny. It looks so 3 dimensional and natural, AND I HAVE NO GREY!! ZERO!! ZEROOOOOOO!!!
Other formulas I have used, not only don’t cover as well, but fade out to a weird brassy color instead of this deep chocolatey chestnut. I am begging you to NEVER CHANGE A THING!!! Please!!!! I will never try another box, I will never go to another salon, never ever!!!! I don’t know what kind of magic y’all have harnessed, but it’s ammmmmmmazing!!!!!
I wasn't sure it would be the color I wanted. It was on sale for $10.00 so I thought why not give it a try. If it wasn't what I wanted no big deal. $10.00 wasn't that much. I was skeptical, how can they get the color I want from the few questions asked? I was surprised and amazed it's just what I wanted. I have been trying to find a hair dye that would give me the color, or close to, the color I had when I was younger. I will never go back to any other product. I am in love with it. Ok, let me start by saying I am beauty impaired. I was scared to death to try to color my hair at home, and expressed my concerns to my boyfriend, who told me to try it out and that he would help me. I ordered the kit and guessed at the color my hair stylist uses on me. I love her to death but sometimes she is unreliable and charges a lot for her services! Anyway, the kit comes and my boyfriend looks at the instructions, and tells me he would like to watch the videos because he is a visual kind of guy. I need to mention here that he has Asberger's, which is a mild form of autism so he learns a little different from the rest of us. Well, let me tell you he colored my hair as good as any professional out there, thanks to the detailed video tutorials! He covered all my gray hairs and the color is absolutely perfect!!! If you are unsure you can do this just try it once. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! I am in love with my hair and I spent a third less than I do to have it professionally colored.

The color stays on longer than others and covers grey better than any I've tried. But I have dark brown hair and the reddish color I picked made my hair look completely black. As it started fading in color then you could see some redish color. But not for months. So it's not really the color I wanted at first but I understand that It's my dark brown hair that is hard to color. I will still buy it! It's less expensive and does a better job all together. Plus I do like the color as it fades away!
About a year ago I started getting enough gray that I would have a bald spot if I plucked them all so I took the plunge and went to the salon for color. I was shocked at how much it costs! I started using grocery store “permanent” hair dye. It not only washes off the gray hair within just a couple of weeks, it also would lighten the rest of my hair when it washed out even though I was buying the darkest brown I could find. My mom recommended eSalon ages ago, and like a good daughter, it went in one ear and out the other. Until one time she brought her kit to my house and asked me to help her with it. The personalized name on her kit caught my eye and now that I had been in a vicious cycle of grocery store coloring for over a year, I was ready to listen! The next time I was ready I tried it. I LOVE IT! It covers the gray and it stays colored. No fading and very affordable.

Hanna hit my color out of the park. My first color wasn't quite what I wanted so with a little adjusting my 2nd order was exactly what I was looking for.
I will admit that I was extremely nervous about doing a home color on my natural auburn/copper but I am sold. When I turned 40, I started experiencing "brown out" - the vibrancy of the red tones was disappearing - and my new growth was more brown which made it look like my hair was colored to begin with.....so I resorted to touching up my roots on the regular because I'm not willing to let go of my red hair just yet. Over the last three years my stylist and I have tweaked the recipe a number of times and while we've gotten very close, often times my roots end up too dark, too burgundy/brunette until I've washed it a few times. The color set esalon mixed for me is dead on and I couldn't be happier! Thank you!!
This is the best service ever. The product contains no ammonia, yet it lasts two weeks longer than box color that does. I also believe it is cruelty free (very important to this Vegan) from speaking with the person who created my gorgeous, rich, and multi-tonal color that cannot be duplicated by box color. The initial consultation, color and blow-dry is only $30 and they refused to accept a tip. Wow. I cannot recommend this company enough.
I was nervous at first because I had not dyed my own hair in close to a decade. It was a little tricky to get started again but with the instructions privided I just went for it. The color turned out great and covered most of the blue and purple sections I had gotten done by a professional.
I have baby fine hair. Even when I was young, a permanent would end up frizzy or would only last a day or two. When the time came to color my hair I could not do color AND perm, so no perm for my straight-as-a-stick baby fine hair.
The color gave body for a while, BUT also left my hair weakened with breaking ends even if I waited 2 months to recolor.
What a delightful change with esalon. It is the ONLY color that has not damaged my hair. Moreover, my hair has body that lasts until the next color application which is between 4-5 weeks.
I cannot praise this color treatment enough. At 80 years old, I'm told I look 60 and once even 50 years old. What more could one ask!
I haven't tried it yet but I know it's going to be just great I'm waiting for a few more weeks because I had already dyed my hair previous to it coming
The coloring kit was perfect for my hair. Spot on. Easy to follow instructions and easy to use. The only drawback is when I dumped my head in the sink to rinse the stuff out - the smell was overpowering. But overall the product is fantastic and well worth the awesome price. Definitely continuing to use your products.
I hate wasting the time and money on hair salons but was never quite happy with my at home results. So far I’ve loved my color from eSalon. I’ll be a repeat customer!
Color was exactly as I hoped it would turn out, I like for my grey to "highlight" giving the appearance of an expensive "highlight" coloring job, one box did complete coverage, as my hair was thinner & shorter when I originally ordered. Was sick for an extended period of time, and concerned maybe the color had possibly expired (no expiration date) but it colored completely, & turned out awesome!!!
I have tried various expensive salons. But no matter how much I send, my color always fades! Finally a color that stick around!!! Although it lost a little of the darkness after a day my color stayed consistent the rest of the time!!!
Its was a great product. I needed a slightly lighter shade which adjusted (was not 100%sure until I saw the final color). Service was great! I use a shampoo for color treated hair and was every other day, but the grays started to show up about 2 weeks after coloring
The first application didn't completely cover my stubborn grey so I sent an email and they sent a free application with customized instructions, that worked great. Very pleased with the product.

Glad i came back and mad i left. Financial problems took me away but still waited way too long to return. Love eSalons new look. Was nice before as i recall. Your name on the product was/is a nice touch. Instructions are simple to follow. Greys are gone. Hair feels healthier. Color looks great.
Packinging was pretty, instructions very thorough. Took me a few days to work up the courage to color. When it was first done, it looked black with purple hues instead of golden which was my color ordered; darkest golden. Now I'm adjusted and I love it as my base color but I want to spice it up with highlights.
I wasn’t thrilled with the original color - didn’t hate it or anything just wanted a lot more red than how it turned out. I emailed, expressed what I wanted and bam, perfect on the next one. I love my color and my hair is super soft!

I used to color my hair at home with store bought color and inevitably I would need to go to the salon to fix color that was darker than I wanted and somehow my hair would always end up with an artificial purple tone to it that I just couldn’t get to go away (it looks great on some people but doesn’t look quite right on me)- I get washed out easily). Enter eSalon- my color is dark brown with copper and mahogany and it’s exactly the the natural looking color that I wanted with warm tones that flatter my skin tone. I’m very happy with my order!
I wasn't sure how this could be better than any other at-home color, but my color looks rich, is black enough without being harsh, it has multi-dimensional color and was soft and shiny for weeks. After 5 weeks, I have root regrowth, of course, but my color still looks fierce. If you're doubtful, try it.
I purchased from E-Salon because my hairdresser wanted me to come every week to get my hair toned, and having depression....it was definitely not possible.
She also refused to dye my hair which was blonde, into a strawberry blond/auburn for no reason, so she def lost my trust there.
I learned my lesson not to purchase box dye, so I googled for the best online high-end color.
The personalized color was very nice, I uploaded a picture of what color I wanted and they delivered!
The smell is definitely VERY strong. It smells even after washing with the included shampoo and conditioner (that I left for 5-8 mins) . So, definitely do it in a ventilated room.
Aside from the VERY VERY strong smell, I am SO satisfied with the color and I know it has just been applied, but I will update when the 12 week mark hits!
My hair has a tendency to get really brassy, but I haven't had that problem at all with my e-salon color...going a shade darker now...because I trust my colorist😊!
It had so many extra bits that regular over the counter hair color is don't have...I was excited. The color was great, I think one tweak and we'll be perfect!!
I'm really happy with the color. It's perfect! And at a price I can afford.
My only problem is that I have a really hard time washing the colorant out. So, my hair looks greasy for a couple of days after I color.
I went from spending over $130 every 6-8 weeks to just $20! And eSalon let's me decide when it works for MY schedule- sometimes late Saturday night. Or on a Sunday when my sweet but pricey beautician is not available.
I've changed the color a couple of times. You get a real person on the phone right away to give you advice and adjust your order. I just hung up with a really nice lady.
My hair is much softer now because all I do is touch up the roots the way eSalon taught me- and I knew NOTHING about hair coloring before! If I can learn, anybody can learn! ESalon shows you how to do it easily.
I use a bowl and the original brush applicator that came with my first shipment. I also add "shine" to my order once in a while to give my hair some extra vibrancy. I use 4 big hair clips to hold my hair in place while applying color. I've had to have family help me recently because I'm disabled but before that I could do the whole thing myself with no trouble. It really is easy and fast! No more 3 hours at the beauty salon on a Saturday-eek!

The custom color is great for me, it covers the gray, is easy to apply and not drippy. Instructions are very detailed and helpful. Just don't get any near your eyes, it burns like heck.
I went back to my natural hair color for about 2 years and stopped using the service. A few months ago I decided to dye my hair again and was using boxed die to do my roots. I was having a hard time getting my hair back to my old color and the box dye always turned my roots super red compared to the rest my hair. I remembered that I has used Esalon a few years ago and decided to reorder my old formula for my roots, and some color to refresh my ends. IT TURNED OUT SO GOOD. My roots blended perfect with the rest of my hair and the color was beautiful. I even got a call to make sure that I really wanted to reorder my color from two years ago and to confirm the color that I wanted. Super impressed and very happy. Next order is coming in a few days and i'm excited to dye my hair again. Thanks so much!
I love my color and so does everyone who has seen it. The process was easy buta little messy. The result being uniform color that has highlights and really is shiny. Other times I have colored my hair it was dull after a couple of washes. I am very happy with my result and have told others about e-salon.
Having bought this product last December and tried a skin test which didnt turn out well, tried again since and no reaction, so had a friend help me change my hair from what was "brassy blonde" albeit this done by a professional hairdress to whom I paid a lot of money..............and now? With the help of my friend and using this product for the first time I am so impressed with the finished colour, I have put this on auto renew and recommend my friends try this instead of paying a fortune at the hairdressers. Premature grey hair runs in my family, so consequently I have been coloring my hair for decades. Early on I was using store bought products, but could never get the right results, so I graduated to salon color. Even then I was not getting complete grey coverage and it always faded to an unappealing brassy shade. Finally, about a year and a half ago, I stumbled onto the eSalon website and decided to give it a try. I'm blown away by how well the concept works. I completed my profile and received my first order. I have really long hair which makes it difficult to do myself, so my husband is my colorist. Even he was impressed with how well it came out. I have been using esalon for a while now and have had better results than when my stylist colors it (sorry Rachel). I also have Great Length hair extensions and haven’t had issues with bond damage. I save a lot of money coloring my hair myself because god knows I already spend a ridiculous amount on extensions. 👍
I was overall pleased with your product, I would just to make it 2 shades darker next time, so your darkest brown and I was wondering if it could be made to last at least 2 weeks longer. overall very satisfied
I had seen this advertised and thought I would give it a try..I ordered to light of a brown ..my fault. But I love how esalon works! This will cut down on a lot of cost of going to the salon!
I switched the color back to the darkest brown. Feel like it suits me best. Not perfect, but the closest and best for me. Some dark colors are harsh and not at all flattering. Your darks always seem warmer. Best of all the color stays that way until the next time. I have gone as long as 6 to 8 weeks. My particular style, short and sassy, cuts me a little more slack.😎
My color was a little to dark,but i loved how easy it was to apply and the matte ash took care of my copper red tones. Lasted 3 weeks before i seen grey appear back. Going to try a shade lighter next:)
I won't be going back to a salon for color any time soon. I can't believe how much money I'm saving! Still a struggle to get the back but somehow it gets covered.
I used to pay $140 to get my hair colored. I got fed up when after tipping my stylist well for years, I just felt like I did not receive the level of service and outcome consistent with the money I was paying. Discovered this product online and my friends tell me my hair color has never looked so good. Super results, flexible and I am laughing all the way to the bank!
I have been coloring my hair at home for years with a drug store boxed color. And, although it looked great, I decided it was time to use a better quality since my hair seemed to be getting more and more damaged. I have used eSalon for a few months now and love it. The color is pretty much the same as I was using before, so not much of a color change; but this past time I received a bunch of compliments, which surprised me because the actual color is not different, it must just look better overall.
I have a lot of gray around my face which tends to show up before the rest of my roots this color absolutely keeps that coverage for longer than I expected excellent coverage
