I've been using department store boxed color for as long as I can remember, with 'good' results.
I've been using eSalon for almost a year now, and I will never go back! Not only do I get to choose my shade from a vast selection, I can make changes if I want. Two shipments ago I asked for more red to be added- it's redder and exactly what I was looking for. The convenience of having it auto-shipped is phenominal as well.
I have very dark hair, but not black., with lots of gray. With other products I always get a too dark - almost black color that looks very fake. This is the only hair color that actually looks dark brown with beautiful highlights, giving it a very rich tone. I love how it's packaged and love the extras that come inside..
I have been with esalon for a few years. I love the ease of dying my own hair whenever I please. I have had nothing, but positive experiences with esalon's and their hair dye line, and hair shine products. The company has one of the best customer services. Hairstylist have always been helpful with my hair tweaking color needs. The company's ordering system is user friendly. You will love esalon, I certainly do!
I was really scared to try this, but it turned out awesome! The color is amazing. I'm curious to see how long it will stay looking good. I missed a couple of spots at the very important gray root area, but I'll be ready next time. I love the color I chose. Perfect.
Cannot believe the colour and silkiness of my hair afterwards. Everyone remarks on my hair colour saying how they like it. It is by far the best hair colouring I have ever used, so quick and easy to use.
I just finished coloring my hair this morning and used just the bottle to apply. Directions were easy to understand and follow. Easy to use applicators. I am ready to receive my next package. There was a slight delay from the USPS, but no problems other wise.Heather P, my consultant spoke with me on the phone to clarify my desired color and walked me through the process. Thanks. I wish I didn't have to order $30 for free shipping, but I guess it's still less than what I would spend annually at my salon.
eSalon got the color correct the first time. I don't often write rave reviews, but this is a incredible product/service. I don't have the time to go to the stylist every 4 weeks. I have struggled to match the color she used even with her guidance of what to buy from the beauty supply store. It was always too dark, too light or too brassy. I sent pictures in for my first purchase. I have now used the product 2 times and the color blends perfectly and is never brassy. Hair care products that are included and great also.

If your color does not come out as expected, esalon customer service will do EVERYTHING to make it right. I've made a few 'bad choices' (lol!) on my color and I've worked with customer service, and they bend over backwards to work with you to fix it, and I've gotten a credit any time I had a problem.

This is the best colour and covering for grey hair that I have found and I have tried every off the shelf product going. Even my hairdresser was impressed when I went recently for a trim! I have found it hard to find a blonde colour that has tones of gold that looks natural until now. An excellent made to order product at a third of the cost at the hair salon.
I love my summer color hints of copper and gold. For my second shipment; I will be using a different color with a little mahogany, since I am a natural redhead, but the color still has copper and gold. I loved this system since my first box but the color turned out more red than I wanted. So I sent my colorist a note and she tweaked me a new box which turned out exactly how I wanted it with more violet hues. Also she gave me my second box free! Overall I love eSalon. The color quality is amazing my hair feels better after i color it. Also customer service is extremely nice and the price point is great!
This is the most long lasting fantastic coloring I have ever tried! I have to say when I went for a normal cut my hairdresser was astonished at the even tones. She told me how great it looked and even asked me the name of the website. 2 thumbs up!

Great packaging😊 I love the color blended for me! I appreciate the ability to suggest any adjustments for my next color, because I like to change my color frequently. I really like the richness of my color. I went to the beach for a week and my color has held up to the sun with no fading.
I have tried every product there is for hair color, and was never completely happy. Still not wanting to pay a stylist, I heard about eSalon, and thought, 'Why not?' Well, now I am HAPPY! The products are great, long lasting, and good colors! My only wish is that I had heard about this sooner!

I admit, I love being able to go to a salon every 6 weeks but honestly it's like a $150. - $200.00 per visit. I am just as happy doing it myself with my color from eSalon than paying exorbitant salon prices. If you don't have the disposable income to visit expensive salons the eSalon is the next best thing. They choose the perfect color for me and it is easy to use.
First class quality and home colouring experience. This service as actually deterred me from going to the salon again,the service is brilliant and the colour pigment is true and long lasting,beats other salon brands hands down.......ps not coloured my own hair since I was a fearless teen!
I am a long time DIY at home hair colorist. LOL I loved this product. Went to get my hair trimmed the day after my color and my hair stylist complimented me on it. Did I mention that I love this product!
I was already sold on the easy and convenient custom coloring. But nothing beats the ease of changing. I have changed the timing of my color application (and delivery), and this past time I changed my color. I requested a seasonal update and got a color and application made just for me. It looks great and I look great. Love this stuff!
The last few years I've been going to only salons to get my hair done. 9 times out of 10 I was not satisfied with the result. I decided to take matters into my own hands and for $20 to be completely happy with how my hair turned out - IT IS WORTH IT. I received many compliments on it so far.
I originally had an ombre and when I dyed over it - fortunately, the ends of my hair were still light! Which is what I wanted. However if you are trying to dye over an ombre to make it one solid color you may need to note that in your order.

PLEASE NOTE*** I thought I washed out the color appropriately, but it left half of my hair sticky and greasy. I washed once, and then once more with olive hair. Still kinda sticky. My 3rd wash in the shower, I lathered it up more with my shampoo and then used conditioner - the gumminess/stickiest is now basically gone. So make sure you completely wash it out of your hair after you dye it!
I love the color and I think it looks better than when I had it done at the salon for twice the price. I just colored my hair so I am anxious to see if the color holds and does not fade. But then even the salon color faded so that would not deter me from using this product. Thank you.
I have been coloring my hair at home for years because spending hundreds of dollars in a salon isn't practical for me. I just started using the e-salon products a few months ago, and I have never had so many compliments on my hair color. I just attended my 25th class reunion this past weekend, and was in a conversation with people who are absolutely floored that I did this myself. One of my friends said he would've bet hundreds of dollars that I got it done at a salon. I am so happy with the results.
I love that I can customize the color if it is too dark you make an adjustment for me. I also love how easy it is to change the delivery date if I need to push it out or pull it in. I also love if I ask you a question, you get back to me right away. You make it easy for people.
I was really skeptical. Didn't think a mail-order colorist who had never met me could get it right for me. I was wrong! The color is FANTASTIC. Just what I wanted. I really love it. Was really hesitant to dye my hair myself. Really afraid the color wouldn't match what my stylist usually uses. I was really surprised on how easy the step by step instructions are to follow. The result: my hair color is a PERFECT match.

I am actually looking forward to dying my hair again!
Everyone loves the color! I need a little more color and more white stuff you mix with the color as my hair is now much longer.
I would also like more conditioner as I use the special conditioner 3 times a week to keep my long hair conditioned correctly.

I normally have my hair colored at high end salons, I do root touch up's in between color. I can't believe after using eSalon color how natural & healthy my hair appears. The pre-order questionnaire fit me with a fantastic color that is perfect for my face and skin tone. Great product!!!!

Not kidding. No one knows i color my hair except my stylist. So happy with my color. I wish It could look natural a little lighter because my husband wants to see it lighter, but I like my color a lot. The highlights are gorgeous in the sunlight too.
