Buying anything online can be a gamble but due to lockdown I decided to take a chance with esalon hair colour. I did the quiz and also uploaded a photo. To my surprise I received an email saying my photo showed my hair colour to be lighter than the colours I chose on the quiz. This was true as I answered the quiz based more on my natural hair colour (which is what I wanted to get close to) rather than my colour was at the time of completing the quiz. They made suggestions as to what Colour I should have, which I went along with. I received my hair dye a couple of days later and I am so happy with the result! I love the colour!!

I do want to go with a lighter shade next time. I did choose the dark brown & that's
what I got. I want to tone it down for next order. Maybe a medium ash brown. I will

Von der Anwendung bin ich voll zufrieden riecht nicht so extrem tropft nicht stark ist leicht zu benutzen.
Leider wurde die Farbe etwas zu dunkel (ehr schon schwarz bzw dunkelbraun) hätte lieber etwas mehr rot bzw Kupfer gehabt. Aber der zweite Versuch ist schon bestellt.

So let me say, this is the best dye I have used in terms of ease of use and amount of product given. The kit was very well packaged and personalized. I ordered the additional color tools to have a more professional application. I suggest everyone make the additional investment as it really made the application a breeze. The only reason this is not 5 stars, is because the color did not come out as light as I had hoped/thought it would . I have not dyed my hair in 3 years. Aside from about one inch of old color on my ends, the rest is virgin hair. The roots came out lighter then the rest of the hair. I wish the root color translated to the middle and ends and even still, I wish it was a bit lighter. My end goal is to have a coopery red tone over time, but it is still very, very brown, which is disappointing. That being said, I do want to order again, and try to achieve a lighter tone.

Love the color match. My color looks very natural. My only concern would be the smell is very strong and my hair seemed a little dry after coloring. A good conditioner solved the issue no problem. I would def use again

I was wanting to go back to my natural colour (dark blonde) after dying my hair to a very light ash blonde for several years. I had tried eSalon to initially maintain my colour during the pandemic, but as they warned me, I couldn't achieve a light and cool enough blonde to match what I had. I then asked them to revise my colour so that I could cover my existing hair colour which had become so uneven from many different salons and methods with my natural hair colour.
They provided a demi-permanent colour to try it out and to transition which I was very receptive to and will continue to use since it's far less damaging, and can always come out if needed. The process was very easy, it took so little time to process compared to bleaching, and the result came out better than I had hoped. My hair looks very even now despite the mess underneath it, and the shade is very cool toned just like I asked for. I have to see how it holds up after several washes, but this is a great non-damaging and low risk way for me to grow out my natural hair colour and have healthier hair. Really happy with this revised solution I was offered!

This was my first time using eSalon and definitely will NOT be the last. The color mixed easily and covered every single grey hair; drugstore hair color that I previously used was not strong enough and left me with silvery roots. My hair feels in better condition and it not as dry or frizzy as before. Best of all: there is NO burning or itching of my scalp which is what happened when I used to have my hair colored at my local salon! The huge savings each month, combined with the quality of the products (and also excellent customer service) have made me a customer for life.

It always leaves a nice and unique color. I was hoping for a more lighter shade. I want to gradually go into lighter tones of brown but the chocolaty brown color was nice too.

I was at the hair salon and the stylist had just finished blowing out the cut she did. Another stylist came in an complimented her on the color. A little awkward since I did the color with eSalon! The compliments just keep on coming.

Unlike other competitive services, Esalon provided me with one on one color consultation based on pictures I sent in, and by requesting more detail about what my preferred color outcome would be. Since this is the first time I have used their products, I completely understood that we may need to tweak a little here or there for next time. The only thing I would change, is a little more support for grays at the temples and hairline around the forehead. And finally, the packaging, detailed, customized instructions and tools you need to apply your color are unlike anything I've seen, outside of going to the salon. Definitely ordering this product again!

At first I wasn't sure, but looking back at what I ordered (lightest blonde in the kit) and the result of my roots - it definitely did a good job and blended in. I had a friend actually do the root painting, and she did a great job. Honestly, Have someone else you trust do it. My only disappointment was that I really like a really light blond = almost bleached, but I would need a different product all together to accomplish this.
Overall the experience was solid and the product I ordered was also solid. I do wonder if I left it on for longer than the 15 minutes recommended if I would have gotten just a bit lighter, a bit more blending, so I'm going to reach out to one of the colorists to get their recommendations on next time.
Products as ordered - the directions were straight forward - be sure to follow the recommendations.

It was so easy to have eSalon help me fix my color! I was happy with the results and sent in a picture and they had even more ideas. While I miss going to the salon, I don't miss the prices, this has been a learning lesson, but they've been there every step of the way. I tried a competitor first and was very unhappy with the coverage and especially the color. I'm sticking with eSalon!

I have to color my hair every three weeks. I can only afford to color it professionally every three months. I was buying $ 3 boxes of supermarket dye that made my hair look like I doused it in black paint. I knew right away this product was the real deal because it smelled exactly like what my stylist uses. The color is so rich. And it's only $20 more than the cheap box dye I was using. Worth every penny.

I’ve been using e-salon for a while now, and the color is gorgeous, long lasting, and very affordable for what I’m getting. My only “con” is that I don’t get enough product in my recurring shipment to color ALL my hair thoroughly (hair is thick and to my mi-back region) Otherwise, excellent product with a respectable price point!

This is lighter than what I expected but it is AMAZING! Super easy and I expected the red to stain my skin but it didn't! It is super shiny and soft, Sadly, it looks better than salon color I was paying $100 every 6 weeks for!!!

Hi! I have been meaning to mention this for a while. The esalon kits are wonderful, but CLIPS!!! I find myself using pony holders or bobby pins, and it’s just not great. I LOVE that we get two pairs of gloves, but if 4 super basic clips would be included, I would be grateful. As the directions actually call for clips, it seems reasonable to assume they would be included in an “all inclusive salon colour experience.” I feel like I struggle to have even sections that are easy to work with without clips. That said, I need to space my colour kits out a bit more as the colour seems to last well- I haven’t tried my new formula, but I have always been happy with the colour product itself. Again, I just recommend some kind of basic clips to better the salon results at home with ease.

Ich war positiv überreascht, da ich zur Hälfte herausgewachsene blonde Strähnchen hatte, sich die ersten grauen zeigen und der Rest einfach nur eine dunkle komische Masse war. Ich hatte beim ersten Versuch keine großenen Erwartungen an die Farbe. Die Beratung brachte mir eine etwas andere Farbnuance als ich mir ursprünglich ausgesucht hatte, aber das Ergebnis kann sich sehen lassen. Es gibt keinen großen Farbunterschiede mehr, die Haare glänzen und sehen wesentlich gesünder aus. Die Anwendung war recht einfach und das Endergebnis hätte ein Friseur auch nicht besser hinbekommen.
Ich werd auf jeden Fall wieder bestellen und kann es tatsächlich auch guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen.

I was really impressed with the depth of colour but like every colour regime I have ever used it didn't quite cover the greys as I can still see them - I think some greys or whites are impervious to colour and will never colour no matter what you use on them. I can honestly say that this is the best home colour I have ever used. I thought it was going to be dark but it was just right so I will be using this again but perhaps in a slightly different shade.

I got my hair color kit and the one developer had leaked. I was disappointed and called. The representative was wonderful. She immediately sent me a new kit out. I used it and the color was the best color I have ever had. I have I’m sold for life!! Best service and great color what else could I ask for?

my first order was good, but the color was just a little to brassy for my likes. I contacted my Colorist and we worked together to figure out what to do.
My color is 100% perfect now!! I love that it I'm able to change things up however I want, whenever I want. Best part...it covers my grey and LASTS

Because of the pandemic, I went over 6 months without coloring my hair. After that time, I had 2-3 inches of gray/WHITE(!) roots. After all that time I still didn't (and don't) feel safe going back to my regular hair stylist, but I had to do SOMETHING about these roots, so I started to look for alternatives for me to color my hair safely at home.
Knowing that store-bought 'box' hair color could ruin my hair, I took a long time to decide which "more professional" product to use. After weeks of research, I decided to give eSalon a try.
I received the hair color set in the mail, but it had sit in my mailbox (late email from the post office) for over an hour, when the temperature was a record 106 degrees(!) outside. I called eSalon to ask if the chemicals were still safe to use, and they immediately sent another hair color set to me (no charge!).
Great customer service!
I am SOOO happy I used eSalon! Not only are the awful roots COMPLETELY gone, but the color eSalon created (using their initial website questionnaire + my uploaded picture + the formula my hair stylist used) was an absolutely EXACT match for what my hair stylist used to do. I was hoping for anything close, and was absolutely wowed at how good my hair color was, and how good the condition of my hair was afterward! I followed the instructions exactly (as many people recommended) and took my time, and the results were great!
I'm about to try my second color treatment - delivered to my front door! - from eSalon later this week, and I am confidently looking forward to how good it will look after my initial color treatment. I will continue with eSalon as long as I don't feel safe during this pandemic - which won't be for a very long time the way things are going now. Not only does my color look great, but eSalon maybe saved my life! since they made it so that I don't have to interact with others who might be contagious.
Thank you, eSalon...maybe for MUCH more than a great hair color!

I really liked this product. Usually, the fumes from the dye and the very perfumed shampoo and conditioner really bother my eye and nasal allergies. I didn't have this issue with this at all. Very mild smell during the coloring process and really enjoyed the light fragrance in the shampoo and conditioner. The only thing I don't like is it was hard to see what color I was getting. I spoke with the stylist about adding more golden tone to an existing shade but couldn't really see what the result would be. I would have wanted much more golden tone than what I got. Not anyone's fault really but being able to see an estimate of what your specialty color will look like ahead of ordering would be great. I told the colorist that I wanted more golden tone and she very nicely said she would fix it for next time. I just would have liked to have had the color I wanted this time. A picture might have helped me and the colorist come to the correct color decision the first coloring verses the second. I will definitely be purchasing again though.

I am absolutely no good at hair dye but the videos and the kit I received made this into an easy job and it came out very well. I loved the tone in the colour.

I have never colored my hair, so now where I do not go to the hairdresser anymore, I can not deal with the grey i wanted something for my roots. After talking with someone there I order one color which was nice everyone liked it and I did too. But I thought I might try to go a little lighter and i did and i love it. If i can do it. Anyone can believe me...

I love my color! My original hair color is a strawberry blonde. Over the years I had my color done at a salon, but my color was never like my own. It was too blonde and when they tried to make it more red, I was not happy with it. I then went back to the color they did and my sister would constantly tell me- "That color is too blonde. It is not your color." During the pandemic, I turned to eSalon and I finally have my right color! My sister finally said, "Yes, that's your color! Plus, I find the color lasts longer and I am not having to do it as often as in the past! I think eSalon will be my color place from now on!

I hate colouring my own hair but hey this is lockdown. Colour mix similar to all home mixes but the colour was exactly what I wanted. Really very pleased.
Colour has faded very quickly but maybe due to being out in the sun more. Colour has faded to a brassy yellow which although I hate it is still better than the orange fade of both home colouring and professional colouring. Have ordered more products hopefully to combat this.
Spoke with colourist and products changed at no expense and better result. No orange.

My colorist matched me up perfectly with my dark blonde and then dark ash blonde. Both looked very natural- even more after a couple of washes. I used demi permanent. What I have to take a star for is the texture it gave to my hair- very awkward microfiber cloth like🤔 I didn’t like it. But it does become better with every wash. I will have to stop coloring my hair for now though, as I’m losing lots of hair lately and need to identify the reason for this.

Für Zuhause, zum Selberfärben, sollte man Zeit einplanen, Es ist nicht weniger aufwendig, als im Laden, aber die Farbe ist absolut meine Wunschfarbe geworden. Vielleicht könnte man die Konsistenz noch ein bischen verbessern Schien mir, sehr flüssig. Sonst toll ....Daumen hoch.

For months I have been trying to get the perfect chocolate brown colour but it always came out too dark or too red. I ordered from Esalon and the colour was perfect! I have asked for more mahogany tones for my next colour but other than that my hair looks really good.

my color was super to be light auburn brown. What I got was between medium and dark brown with no auburn at all. I no longer wish to order from esalon!!

this is my second order the first was a bit too dark for me but on the second i requested a color change and it was done perfect definitely will continue to use esalon as long as the world is closed....smh. the instruction are super easy to follow, i have a lot of hair and its long they send enough product to color my entire head without feeling like will this be enough...thank you esalon.

Since my hairdresser’s shop is closed with the recent shutdown in California, tired of using drug store color that didn’t match with strong ammonia smells. So I followed the questionnaire on Madison Reed and found the perfect match, currently on auto order, so when I need to color roots again, it will arrive in the mail.

Rarely ever do I write a product review. I haven’t colored my own hair in 20 years. When I did, it always came out way to dark and “solid” with no dimension. And the bathroom always looked like a crime scene after.
I ordered e-Salon because of the pandemic. I have very stubborn gray roots. I followed directions exactly and watched the tutorial videos on how to focus on roots and pull color through. My color is GORGEOUS, my gray is covered and not lighter than the rest of my hair, which was my fear, and I still have dimension in my color. It still looks like I have fine highlights! And my bathroom doesn’t look like a crime scene. Just re-ordered. I did buy the color tools. In my opinion, that’s a must!

I originally posted a negative review only because I guess I wasn't using it right as this awesome team at e-salon gave me a call to find out why I was unhappy, I told them that they sent me a strong formula and I think it was wrong and it would make my hair fall out. Well this nice wonderful lady walked me through the process and it wasn't wrong and it wasn't going to make my hair fall out after all. So she sent me a new order since I wasted the first order by only leaving it on my head for 10 mins thinking my hair was going to fall off, and it was sent at no charge to me!! Everything that I had originally ordered was sent again, at no charge. I am so thrilled with this company and I encourage everyone to use them and work with them if you have any concerns or reservations as the folks on the other side KNOW what they are talking about. THANK YOU AGAIN E-SALON! I WILL BE BACK! :O)

I haven’t colored my hair in quite some time, I had decided to embrace my gray hair. After a couple of years, I decided that I wasn't ready to look this old. I was nervous about whether or not this would totally cover my gray-but it did!

Initial color was too light, but I sent in my feedback and I'm really liking how the new color is turning out. I like having it shipped so I won't forget to to purchase it. The classic shampoo & conditioner provided makes my hair really shiny. My boyfriend helps with the back so the only one pair of gloves (due to COVID) is a little tough to deal with, but otherwise great experience.

I really liked the color. However, I really love how the color has since faded away over time. My hair has held the color for a long time despite being in the lake from time to time over the summer.

I've only used eSalon twice. The first time, I ordered what I thought I needed. The results were fine, but I really needed an expert to give me more advice. The second time, the colorist who helped me was awesome. She talked me through the WHY she recommended what she did. The results were good with one exception... my hair ended up MUCH darker than I expected, and my grey roots weren't covered. I followed the instructions well, so who knows what happened. That being said, I'm definitely trying the custom color set again.

I loved the color for the most part. It was a bit difficult to part my hair but I am new to this. The color was almost exactly what I wanted but needed a little more pearl to cancel out the golden tone and then something to lift up my natural highlights. Beware that the fumes are extremely strong.

I love the convenience of e-salon.
It colors great and doesn’t have the smell of other at home box colors. The only thing I struggle with is getting the grey at the “temple “ area to stay colored as long , It shows much sooner than the actual “re-color” time .

I like the color it turned out to be been trying to get the kinda auburn color without being to red and this was it,
like the shampoo & conditioner in package as well just not quite enough conditioner.

Wenn man es dann endlich bekommt. Bei der erstenLieferung hat es schon mehr als vier Wochen gedauert, Beim zweiten Mal konnte es gar nichtZugestellt werden, erst auf Anfrage habe ich hier Informationen bekommen und das Produkt auch zugestellt bekommen.Da ich ungerne wochenlang mit grauen Ansatz rum laufe, habe ich mich entschieden meine Haarfarben zukünftig wieder bei meinem Friseur zu kaufen.

I absolutely love this hair color. Unlike others that are very popular (MR) my color doesn’t fade. The other popular one had horrible root fade after 2 weeks. It was bad. This color stays true till I need to cover my new growth. The only problem I’ve had was not receiving 2 pairs of of gloves. I only received 1 pair my last 2 orders. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone wanting great hair color

I was hopeful yet sceptical that the color would cover my misstep. There was MORE than plenty of color left in the bottle even while showering. I really enjoyed the silky feel of my hair during the color process & while rinsing it out!

The ordering process was very easy and they had a great first time deal. The coloring really started to show after a few days. My hair is dark so there wasn't too much of a difference. Unfortunately, I was allergic to the product and had to discontinue my subscription. When I called to cancel, the woman I spoke with was super helpful and when I mentioned that I had a reaction she issued a refund. She also directed to me to the ingredient list for future reference and if they can assist with giving my doctor information to just contact them.
I would highly recommend trying them not just for the product but for the service as well. One of the best customer service calls ever!

This color is indistinguishable from the color I had been getting at my high-end salon. The kit is easy to use and, once I got things right, easy to repeat for consistent results. Their service is so amazing that they should be a Harvard Business School case. I was frustrated by persistent roots the first time, sent a free replacement that got lost in the mail, re-sent a replacement with new instructions...and then everything clicked. They stuck by me throughout the learning experience and now I am returning the loyalty by recommending them to everyone I know.

My first time I had about 6” grow out and have long hair. I called and talked to the stylist that was more than happy to send an additional kit at no cost with no shipping fee. She wanted my first experience to be good so I will return for more products.
I only needed one kit. It was more than enough.
Color came out darker than expected but I know if I tell them that they will adjust it perfectly but I still have a kit at that shade so will contact them again later with changes.
Mine does fade but more to the lighter color I prefer. I does cover lots of gray hair.
Will definitely buy again.

I had a home colour disaster a couple of years ago and it has taken a while to get sorted. When lockdown started I was due a colour and missed it. Being useless at anything like this i decided to do an all over colour and root refresh on my highlighted hair. The results were slightly darker than I was hoping BUT looked so much better, really natural and my mum commented that it was the best colour she had seen on me for ages! I am hoping to go gradually lighter and reverse my historic disaster but am a convert to home colour with e-salon.
