This new formula was better than my previous one but it did not cover some of the grays on my sides. It did a great job covering my grays on top though. Not sure if the formula needs a marginal adjustment? Thank you!
Experience great color again! Really impressed by how great the color team painted the perfect shade of red! Dreams do come true at an affordable price! The downside-- harsh fumes! Not sure if it's me or the formula but since their redesign, I've noticed a change in smell during application that made my eyes burn a little. Hope they can adjust the ingredients. Meanwhile make sure to apply in a well-ventilated room!
The first color set was a bit too dark and I requested to change to a brighter and lighter Color. The update was exactly what I wanted and the color was beautiful right after application, however, the color faded in about 3 weeks which is the only thing that I wish was different.
I really like this service and the quality of the products, but we're not quite getting the right shade I'm after. I wish there was an opportunity for more communication before the product was sent. I'm nervous to experiment again. I'm going to skip an order or two before I decide if I will continue.
I have been using eSalon since 2017. I have always really liked this product because I am a bottle redhead, and this is such an affordable way to keep my hair vibrant. However, there have always been two downsides: 1) the fumes would make me very lightheaded no matter how much I aired out my bathroom, and 2) I had quite a bit of trouble rinsing all of the dye from my hair, and I was usually left with a yucky texture until I could give it a good wash. Both of these are NO LONGER issues! The new formula is so creamy, doesn't smell as strong, and left my hair so smooth and soft. I didn't think I could love eSalon more, but this new formula made it happen. THANK YOU!
Nice color, but zero gray coverage around hair line in front!

Just had my color changed and loved it. Only downside is my stylist puts on the color for me and this time the gray coverage is not good. Had my hair done on the 19th of August, today is August 30 and I have grays all around my hairline! Color was put on roots, left for 30 minutes and then pulled through rest of hair, but this is not good. Leaving on vacation on September 4th and I have gray coming through!!
I have LOVED using eSalon custom coloring products for quite a few years now, but I don't care for the recent change in making the product thicker. I have never been one to "miss a spot" when coloring. But since you made the formula thicker, I keep having trouble with full coverage! I never had a problem when the formula was thinner.
I love the color! It doesn’t last but like 4 weeks and I don’t want to color that much with other brands I only color about very 6weeks with little gray showing
This is true only hair color that does not leave my scalp itchy and irritated. Although the color doesn’t last as long as salon color it’s still worth it!
Great color but grey coverage at my temples is lacking

The color is gorgeous and diverted my obnoxious current color that was TOO YELLOW. My only disappointment is that the grey at my temples still seems to be color resistant. This really didn’t cover well.
First, I want to say this is a good product with thoughtful inclusions. It leaves your hair feeling healthier than most color kits.
What’s missing? A root touch up kit. Despite instructions to “avoid previously colored hair”, this is very hard to do. If you have layers or short hair, it’s tough to section it. But mostly why waste 3/4 of a bottle of formula for just roots? I’m not going to spray on color meant for a “light brunette” which would be obvious and impermanent. So great product guys but a touch up kit for about $10-$12 would be great and I would totally go for it and with more fequency.
Your product is great, I don’t need it as often as you send it.
Can you cancel my order please?!.?

I love this product, but I still need to tweak the color a but - it always starts out a little too dark, fade a bit over the next week or so. Right now has been a week, and still a bit dark. But the amount of red is perfect and I love how soft and shiny my hair feels.
I have been working with my new colorist (Amanda) to get the just right shade of my color. I think we are finally there. I only wish that the first person I worked with would have listened to me. I gave them the exact Goldwell formula from my old stylist and they told me that would be too dark for me. I tried explaining that we have hard water and my color fades pretty easily but I went along with their recommendation of going a whole shade group lighter (Light Brown vs Medium Brown) and my roots ended up really red/orange looking. It's been a somewhat lengthy process but I'm glad that I stuck with it. I've have been wanting to get free from the ridiculously high prices at my salon for quite some time now. Now...I am. Thank you Amanda & eSalon.
The color was spot on and I loved how healthy my hair felt after using it! Unfortunately the color only lasted about a week and a half and my grey roots showed up.
And I've been pleased with customer service in addressing some of the packaging issues of the past. However, we're still seeing issues with leaking in shipping etc. Things are better, but there could be improvements in the packaging for shipment.
This color last longer than store bought which is remarkable because I have natural red pigmentations that normally cause color to fade. It only gets a 4 star because there is no shine, sort of a matte color.
Colorist did a great job with matching the color I was looking for. Only challenge I’ve had is I have short, baby-fine hair and only use about 1/2 of the bottle of color per application. It feels a bit wasteful, but I still love the color and will continue to use the product.
I love the attention to detail esalon offers. Also, the color assistant I spoke with was amazing; she was patient and very informative. The downside is I ran out of color, I should have ordered two!
All was well except...there was no brush to apply color with. I am not the most coordinated person and I've always had trouble covering the roots, especially in the front, around the temples. Last time, it was the best color application I've ever had, done by me or anyone else. This time, I had to use the bottle. I did get everything covered, but I made a mess. In the sink, on me, etc. I really need the brush.
I really enjoyed this color. The only thing Im not loving is the fade out. However, that can be changed by ordering another bottle since Im now about 3 1/2 weeks post color. I will be ordering again soon!
I really love the color that was blended for me and the amount of product provided. However, the color is not sticking to my grays the way I had hoped otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
I've had both an online and an in person consultation to find the right color and it's still not quite right. Too much red instead of a rich chocolate brown.
I have not used the last box, but the first two were awesome.

My hair grows really slowly so I have not used the last box. My hair is getting long-haven't left the house since March one except for one "procedure". It covers well, doesn't fare like other products and my hair is very soft and easy to control. My only complaint is that it isn't harsh therefore I don't have the body I got from the damage of other products. Love everything about your product except the last box didn't have the little brush in it and that worked great. Thanks.
I absolutely love, love the colour you guys made for me. The first bottle, was great. My hair looked great and the texture was really soft.
My second bottle of colour was just as great however, after coloring my hair the texture was hard and dry. I'm not sure what happened with the formula after the initial bottle but I was very disappointed with the second because I really like my custom colour.
I received a copper mahogany full hair color kit. The kit as a whole was awesome and had all things needed to dye your hair successfully and easily without a big mess or a face full of dye marks around your forehead and ears! However, the color I received was chosen by the coloring artist to cover up a red color I had previously dyed my hair 3 weeks prior. The color that I got from this website and that my hair became afterwards was a dull color with no intensity and the red is now starting to show up again from the middle to ends of my hair and I overall am just not a fan of the color they had Chosen as most fitting for me to use.
I have been dying my hair red for more than 25 years. I always want the same vibrant copper color that God only seems to bestow upon the lucky Irish! I have NEVER gotten that color from a box, despite trying repeatedly. Too light. Too dark. Too purple. Never that elusive fiery red. Honestly, I had a similar problem with salons until I found my recent colorist. Enter the pandemic. After two underwhelming colors from the grocery store, I tried eSalon. First custom color was close but still too dark. I almost gave up, but decided to call their colorist. I couldn’t believe I was talking to a real live human about boxed hair dye! She asked questions, listened, studied the pictures I sent. And then she sent me a newly adjusted color, for free. I just tried it today, and I am never going back to the salon. It’s perfect. Bright, warm and natural. Better than a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!!
A little more ammonia than I thought there’d be, and my hair DID highlight and lowlight like I wanted, BUT it did get copper-red, which I did NOT want at ALL,
(40 years ago, ash meant it would neutralize red, I guess things have changed, my next color has a “pearl, we’ll see...)
They have adjusted my next order, and fingers crossed that it does not darken nor get any redder... I am “almost” scared to try again, but I am trusting that it will go better...
Easy to use and colour is natural but it just doesn't cover the bits of grey around my hairline. Hopefully, the next batch will as I've alerted the technicians.
I'm a fan, it's been very simple and color has been great. 4 star only because the container has broken before so color was leaking but overall great experience.
I liked my initial purchase but thought that I needed to highlight the color a bit since the one I chose was a little bit dull. I submitted a color upgrade but evidently I did it incorrectly, because my color scheme did not change. Overall though, the product is easy to apply and the result saves frequent visits to the hair salon.
Love the conditioning but this is the 3rd attempt to get the color right. First too dark, then had red in it, then back to too dark again. Might give it one more shot.
I loved the overall color. They gave me 2 kits, one for roots, and other for the ends. It was quite fascinating to see that two different bottles blend in so nicely. Yet, I did not like the smell of ammonia and my eyes went dry after applying the formula. Hope they upgrade their formula with better ingredients and less harshness.
The product was as expected in that it covered gray well. The shampoo and conditioner was excellent, smelled great, didn’t dry out my hair, and the conditioner closed the hair cuticle well and added some shine. My only low point is that the gray started to appear around my face in only two weeks.
This dye worked well, color turned out nice. The smell, however, was horrible. The ammonia content must be very high, and I was in a well-ventilated area. I just wish there was a better scent to the product, then I would rate 5 stars.
Love the color, but after this application I felt my hair appeared burned on many of the fine baby hairs and I also lost quite a bit of hair down the drain during the wash out. I’m unsure if the formula was altered, but i followed the instructions exactly.
The quality is fine; one thing is through it burns quite a bit in your scalp. The products that I was accustomed to were in a more natural type (i.e. Aveda, Pravana). But I do like the overall results of this product.
Like so many I decided to try and color my hair during covid salon closures. Escalon is excellent if you have a darker color than your natural or want to match your natural to cover grays. Unfortunately, I wanted to lighten my natural a lot because I have heavy blonde highlights— this is just not a realistic expectation with at home color. I cannot stress enough DO THE STRAND TEST FIRST... if you don’t like the shade, they are more than happy to send you out something different. The customer service is excellent.
While the color is beautiful, my grays aren't completely colored even if I leave the color in for over 30 minutes. Also difficult to get even color throughout even if I feel that I have distributed the color evenly.
I absolutely love the color and tone… And feel like what I received, was what I expected exactly. The only disappointment I have is that I found it did not cover my grays very well… I do not have a ton of grays but it didn't cover the ones that I have.
This was a little tricky to master at the beginning of coloring my own hair, but once I watched the videos and started it went great. My stylist did an amazing job matching my normal hair color to get rid of my grays! So very happy !!
had multiple communications, some were challenging as it takes a little more than three weeks for it to ship, so people forget the last communication and you would need to make it clear to give them the history of your communications.
other than that I love the latest color, one thing for sure that it doesn't fade away quickly and that is a great added value, the color itself is rich and covered all my grey hair. I couldn't be more satisfied with the color.
I will definitely continue use esalon and I don't see a reason why I should stop!
I think I initially indicated I want to mainly cover grey, but then after 2 or 3 times, I wanted to change my color, and go lighter and covering the grey became less of an issue for me, I changed my color, applied it, and it's not any lighter, it looks the same as my first color. so, if you want to change your reason for coloring hair, it's not easy to change tracks. I'd like to start over, and play around with different colors. The first time I colored, i think I used too much stain guard and my hairline didn't take the color. this last time, I didn't use stain guard at all, have no stains and my hairline roots are good.
I got so excited to try my customised hair colour.
I really like how easy it was to follow and liked the smell and the way it felt on and after; not tacky or itchy as it sometimes does after the salon. The only down side is I have really tough grey hairs ; especially on the side of my head near my ears and even after repeating the roots the day after they are still there ...so a little bit disappointed as I was hoping to replace using esalon rather than a salon 😕
I love the color. It's exactly what I asked for. The only downfall in this set were the gloves. They were too small, very thin, and they broke easily. I'm also not sure they were non latex.
Easy to use, excellent instructions and salon color results.
One exception is the shipping of the product. Of the 3 I have receiced so far, one came leaking and was not useable and another got lost in the mail. Each were replaced free of charge. However, if you are waiting on the product to color your hair for an event so you look freshly colored, I recommend having an extra on hand.

I thought for the price why not give it ago OMG normally when I have a medium blonde it the colour goes to dark for my liking this time I love the colour I usually use supermarket buys but I'm converted will deffinetly be buying again
I’m a 45 yo blonde that over the years has slowly faded to a medium/dark blonde (natural). I go every 4 months to a salon and for $160 plus tip they do a lovely job cutting, highlighting and blowing out my head full of curly-wavy hair. This year under COVID time, for the first time in my life I decided to try it myself bc it looked blah. I sent in photos of myself and answered the survey questions. The response came back that the colourist would recommended altering the colour slightly bc mine was maybe too warm. I went for it. It was a perfect match!! Blended so seamlessly that it looks so natural you barely notice a difference other then the ‘perk’ it adds to my natural to keep it from looking mousey dark-medium blonde. I am very pleased and will never got to a salon for colouring again. I have done it 2x now with esalon and both times perfect!!
I have not received any products, any package,any shipment, from e-Salon since march 2020. Please ship the September package and the product ordered a few days ago as soon as possible. Thank you very much. Edda Vila
