I love the color and it last so much longer! Doesn't seem to wash out as fast. Only issue was it's a little hard to get mixed all the way and is a little thin.
Now that I have more grey, root touch up and overall color never matched. Salon root touch ups? Who has time and who wants to spend salon prices that often? I'm getting better, consistent, color with eSalon color at home and doing my own color when it best suits my schedule and my hair's growth.
My first time ever doing just the roots. Wasn't sure the end result would look good after 12 weeks from last dye. But to my amazement my hair looks great
I can't really fault eSalon for this. I requested light brown, and that is what I got. It covered the grays well at the roots, but is notably different from my base color.I have since changed the color back to medium brown/beige for the next application.
The color covered my new grey, without making a harsh recolor line. You can't even tell where my old color was, and my new color took off. The grey shows just enough, that the outgrowing hair doesn't shine!!
To say I was skeptical is an understatement. I have never dyed my hair before, but, there were more than a few gray hairs I wanted to get rid of (who wants to be gray in their early 30's?). I called around my local salons who all wanted $200+ to do any kind of coloring to my hair.
At first, I was going to go the typical drugstore box dye. But, I happened to stumble across esalon when looking at different brands. It seemed way too good to be true. So I kept putting it off until I just finally bit the bullet and ordered it. Shipping was extremely fast. I opened the cute little box and found all of my supplies and the easiest directions I've ever seen!
I did a strand test first since my scalp is very sensitive and I wanted to make sure my hair didn't turn a funky color. The strand test turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. So it was time to take the plunge. I did have someone help me since I have very very long thick hair.
We were done super quick and after 30 minutes I rinsed out my hair. I got a little scared at first when the water was purple (I dyed my hair Dark Blonde (Copper Ash). But once the water ran clear I shampooed and conditioned my hair with the amazing packets that came with the kit. I REALLY loved the shampoo and conditioner, it smelled heavenly and made my hair silky.
At this point, I was still afraid to look in the mirror. So I blow dried my hair and all I hear from my friend is "WOW!" My friend was a bigger skeptic than me but she LOVED it. So I ran to the mirror and it is incredible. It's not dull or bland and it doesn't look like I took a red marker to my head (I was very afraid that my hair would turn bright red). It has dimension and it looks like natural hair. I absolutely love it.
Others said my hair color was nice.
I'm soon to have surgery and the last time I had anesthesia, my hair was ruined as an after effect. I'm hoping now that I use ESalon, it'll remain in good condition.
This is a great color for me. I have naturally red hair that is really hard to keep a color on. This color stays on the hair until it grows out and it time for a touch up.
Absolutely love the product, and the shampoo and conditioner is amazing. I should have kept the color on a little longer to make it a little darker, but next time.
I was thrilled with my first match! I couldn't believe how spot on it seemed to be. Then I went a little lighter for summer and when I wanted it to be a bit darker, they went too yellow, so I'm a bit disappointed, but overall it's a good product.
I'm getting some gray here and there, and I was looking for more ash color in my color. The store-bought brands don't make many ash colors, or the markets I shop don't order them. The demi permanent is softer, and the custom mixing provides lots of highlights.
I have been coloring my hair myself for 40 years with the exception of the past 3-1/2 years when I had it done in a salon. Sometimes my stylist got 'creative' and a few times the color was not at all to my liking. When he left the salon without notice, I decided it was time to go back to doing the color myself again. I had saved a link about eSalon for a few months, probably knowing in the back of my mind I might need it someday. I ordered and received my first custom hair color and when it arrived, I had a feeling it might be too light. I called eSalon and was advised to do a strand test. I did, and confirmed it was too light a color. I called again and was told that the color I received would be made 2 shades darker, and that turned out to be the winning color. I love my hair--the color is truly perfect for me and the texture of my fine hair is silky and shiny. I am very pleased at the results and my experience with the professionals at eSalon. I am thinking on going blonde but I DON'T cause i don't want to damage my hair cause is very thin, but i am getting more grey hair what do you recommend

I have colored my hair for 52 years and never found the right product....until this one. The color was so spot on and the softness of my hair is hard to believe. Every time I colored before it looked and felt like straw almost immediately. I am now 6 weeks out from using it for the first time and it still looks and feels great. Excellent product.
I have been coloring my hair on and off for 15 years. I have 50% white snow mixed in with my brunette curly hair. In the past my at home color out of a box has turned out better than the expensive visits to have a custom color done at a salon. But the overall condition of my hair was suffering and I had 5 different horizontal strips of color going from trying to match my roots, unsuccessfully. Enter eSalon! I sent my photos and asked to have my roots matched as closely as possible so that I could eventually grow out my snowy hair without such a drastic demarcation. I was expecting to have a very flat all over muddy result because of all of the box colors built up. I was delighted to have beautiful, soft, even brunette hair! It matched my skin tone, my roots, my eye brow tone...everything! While darker than I started out expecting it to be, it was exactly perfect and I love it! I am getting ready to interview for a new job and I feel like me but better! Thank you to eSalon and my stylist for sorting through the dozen pics and needy plea for help. The first color I ordered pulled out to much red in my hair, but I requested a darker color and got a Very Fast response from the support team and changed the color and I am happy with the new color. What I would like to see is a color chart to choose from after I have ordered my first color. I do think that I saw one before the first order, but when I was wanting to change I could not find one.
I couldn't believe it. I had my hairdresser apply it because I can't do it myself that quickly. She was as impressed with the color as I was and wondered what eSalon might do for her color. I came to eSalon after seeing the advertisement for another site. I went to it and went through their process. The color was not what I wanted but it didn't allow me to make any adjustments. I didn't find the site user-friendly at all. I was happy to send a picture as your site requested because it made sense you'd make a better color if you could see me, and you did. I look forward to seeing how the other products work to maintain the color. I am learning to swim and spending a lot of time in chlorinated water. I will let you know how the color holds up.
I love the whole line of products. Unfortunately I was looking for eggplant purple highlights but each color had red highlights instead. Customer service was great and each time they reformulated a color to try and give me the highlights I was looking for. I think the color I requested is unusual and I'Lloyd have to back to mixing it myself.
I color my hair maybe once or twice a year, usually when it has changed due to the seasons, faded, become brassy, etc. I baby my hair and don't do too much to it, because I'm trying to grow it out and it's silky and fine.
I've been putting off going to the salon for months, because I'm due for a touch up on the purple/blue section of my hair, but with a cut, the processing, etc...it's going to run me about $130, so I've been avoiding it, because I don't exactly have a disposable income.
It's the end of summer, and my hair was looking pretty brassy, even a bit red, in some photos I saw. It didn't necessarily look bad, but when you're naturally pale with very dark, thick eyebrows...it wasn't looking 'right'. I happened upon the link to eSalon and decided to at least do the color consult...I was impressed with the evaluation and the full package you get when you sign up the first time...$38 for the color, color gloss, shampoo/conditioner, applicator brush, two sets of gloves, stain protector, AND stain remover? Come ON, that's a deal! Plus, it's demi-permanent, so I don't have to worry I'm murdering my scalp with ammonia.
It came beautifully packaged with my name on the label...I'm a sucker for personalization...and I followed the instructions (I'm not a rookie for at-home color); I was impressed with the short amount of time I had to leave it on my hair. A total of 15 minutes? That's fantastic, especially when so many store-bought dyes have to be left on for up to 40 minutes. Who has time for that?
The smell is lovely, it went on like a dream (I mentioned having fine hair, so there was WAY TOO much product left over once I was done. I could have accomplished the job with half as much dye and color gloss. But anyway.)
I did my blue/purple touch up at the same time, washed and conditioned with my new shampoo/conditioner (also smells great--just like the fussy salon stuff!), blow dried it to check the color and it was glorious! Perfection! I'm me again!
My consultant really listened to what I wanted, cover greys and make it darken than my natural color due to move to Florida where sun will bleach it out daily.
Yes the new change is very pleasing, nice warm touch very natural looking.
Taken me longer to do it this time round as I had hurt my leg and had to have bed rest for 10 days, so my next order will be delayed.
I love the fact that everything is customized for me and the process is very thorough on top of it always being sent to me exactly when I need it. I found it difficult to do it myself in the shower and not make a mess, but since I use the demi-permanent I skip some of the steps that make it messy. And I wish the purple stayed longer than a few washings but the color that is left is rich and still looks great though.
I turned to this product because there has been NO high street home dye that stays the same colour after @6 washes: it just gets lighter and lighter on my first few inches of hair - which just looks awful, making all my hair look washed out. This colour remained until I could take my root regrowth no longer and used my next order. Very very pleased.

I would give a 5* but still having some full gray coverage issues especially around my face and I have this one spot that has the most gray and that just seems difficult to cover. I have tried increasing the time the color is in my hair but didn't seem to help. Overall I think this is a great product and service.
Although it was slightly darker than I anticipated, overall the color was fabulous. There was no real harsh smell, so that made it easier to bare. The color techs seemed to really get what I was looking for, and the end result looked, and felt great. The only thing that would have made it better..... A free shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair.

Love my custom hair color. But even more I love the way my hair feels afterwards. Really gives my hair a soft feel. Application was easier than I expected and colored my gray roots completely. Thanks for suggesting I use a shade lighter than I originally chose. I don't think I would have been as happy with the darker color.
I really enjoyed the color I selected. It applied easily to my roots, and following the advice of my stylist, I quickly and briefly scrubbed the color through my lightened ends to blend the colors nicely just before I rinsed it out in the shower. The one small negative (for me) is that I've been using the color safe shampoo and conditioner with this color, but it's still fading a bit quicker than other demi-permanent colors I've used; I think that has more to do with it being summer and time at the beach/pool is not helpful, so I don't particularly fault the color itself. Just note: if you really want to get a lot of longevity out of your non-permanent color (this is true for all non-permanent color), you have to take some protective measures before exposing to the sun and chlorinated water. If, like me, you do not take protective measures, you might want to bump up your auto-ship date a week or two.
My 16 year old recently dyed her gorgeous brunette head a fetching shade of aqua blue ... Last crazy days of being 16! Unfortunately for her new do, her workplace doesn't allow their employees to drastically alter their appearance so she quickly decided (2days later) that she needed to go back so I gave her a beauty treatment with my package from ecolor. A mother makes certain sacrifices for her daughter! The color (my color) was fantastic on her... Coverage great, tones beautiful . Now I'm in desperate need of my next shipment !!! My hair felt nourished and the color lasted. No fading. Only problem is I have thick med/ long length hair and did not have enough product for all my hair.
My dye was exactly what I wanted, a very dark brown with no red tones or brassy-ness. It looks natural and doesn't stray into inky black territory like some darkest browns.
My only issue was a small amount of damage to my hair. It's not as gentle as something like Olia box colour and there was some breakage but nothing drastic. I deep conditioned my hair afterwards and used argan oil as a leave-in conditioner and that helped a lot.
In future I'm going to time my colouring around my visits with my hairdresser so that I'm not colouring dry ends. I'll also fit in a few deep conditioning treatments in the week before I colour.
Being a Licensed cosmetologist years ago, I became very weary of anyone else doing my hair. My theory was and still is, no one can read my mind of what I am wanting in a certain look. As a result no one besides myself has done my hair in over 25 years. I am 52 years old. As a colorist, I always desire a mixture of hi and lo lights, not just a flat color to keep it natural looking. Your products do just that. My personal mixture is a blend of mahogany, copper and light brown. I absolutely love it! I love the convenience of it being shipped to my home as often as I set it to come. The little extras that come with this is much appreciated. The stain preventative and remover are a welcomed treat. Love the Shampoo and Conditioner that comes with the pack. I especially love the fact that you send 2 pair of gloves. This has come in handy in so many ways. If I should put a hole in the first pair, or to not have to rinse them off to put them on again, when I am working the color through to the ends prior to rinsing. A very nice touch.. First and foremost, I always get lots of compliments when I retouch my hair. The sheen and color definition keeps my hair looking super healthy and never a flat mat appearance.. Again, you will not be sorry in using these products!!
After some review of products online, I found esalon. I have been dying my hair at home for 15 years as I started going gray at 21. Do not let the initial question process dissuade you. The kit comes with everything: multiple pairs of gloves, Vaseline for skin protection, a wipe to remove the dye upon skin contact, a spatula, shampoo, conditioner. At first I was skeptical as I was always under the impression that one should wait 48 hours to wash your hair after coloring. I jumped in, following the directions and the end product was multi hued color. I have been to 2 different salons for hair cuts since using this product and neither believed me that my hair was dyed. They commented on the great texture of my very fine hair along with the color. Both inquired about the product as neither had seen such awesome results. I cannot say enough good things about this product!
I was flitting between boxed colour from the supermarket and in-salon colour when I could afford it. Even after a salon colour my roots and ends never matched up. I have fairly dark brown hair with a fair amount of grey through the top, my roots always came out a yellowy brown and the end very dark, and flat brown with no shine.
I sent eSalon a photo of my two tone hair and they sent me special instructions to try and even out the colour. After the first use the colour is totally even, root to tip, and has left me with the rich, dark and glossy hair I was born with, without any yellow or black looking areas. I highly recommend eSalon and would suggest including a photo even though it's optional! It's the first time in years that I've felt 100% confident with my colour. Thanks eSalon!

The color turned out great, and was unique. It faded a little faster than I expected, even with color safe shampoo and conditioner, but it faded nicely and doesn't look dull.
I like the color but because red always washes down the drain and fades I may go to a med brown with red highlights. I will decide and let you know. But, I love esalon and the attention you give me personally. Thank you so much.
I absolutely LOVED this color! It wasn't brassy at all and the color itself was exactly the right color. The only issue that I've had is about 3 weeks after I colored my hair that's when I started to notice some brassiness. Which was really odd. I usually will see it right the same day after I color and then the brassiness will slowly fade over time. I'm not real sure why it started to look that way 3 weeks in but that's what I experienced. So I purchased the purple colored treatment and that brought it back to where I like it.
With genuine interest and concern for the best possible outcome, the colorists at eSalon "tweaked" a light Brown shade that truly blends with all the shades of my hair. The only downside is I don't need all of the generous amount they send, to color my roots. The quality pigments stand up to a lifestyle of constant chlorine, sun, salt, and sweat, with almost daily shampooing.
I found the packaging very appealing and the directions very easy to follow. Weeks later I do not have the grey coverage I would have liked but since it was my first time I am willing to give it another shot.
Wasn't sure about this at first. But I wouldn't go back to the drugstore box again. Leaves hair in great condition and the color is perfect. Love that you can change it up whenever I want.

If you are wondering if you should give it a try, I suggest you do. I find the hair color is very similar to what I would get at the salon for a fraction of the cost.
I am very pleased with my custom hair color
its cost a little more than the colors in the store but I think its
worth it, the color seems to stay longer and its a more natural color
Great product with helpful online staff. Colour goes on well and the colours are true to what they say they will be. Only draw back was the conditioner which was too thick and took an age to rinse out!
I've tried many different over the counter hair colors, none of them match my original hair color. Then I heard of eSalon and I gave it a try. The first custom hair color was too black for me. Then I called them up to consult with the color. The second color was lighter than the first one but still not satisfying. Then I called again and the third tries is really the one. It matches my original hair color, I was surprised that I am able to get the same hair color as my original color. People compliment my hair color. I am very happy and a very satisfied customer. They also have fabulous customer service!
I'm a natural ginger. Greys are attacking! I didn't want to change my color; I just wanted to cover the grey. Every other thing I tried was too brassy. E salon is perfect!
I was very nervous about using this hair color as I had a job interview coming up. I prefer a natural reddish brown color. The last thing I wanted was clown orange/red hair. When I mixed the color for the roots the color looked like a light brown so I felt it was safe and applied it without hesitation. When I mixed the color for the remainder of my hair I was shocked. It was orange. How on earth was that going to work with the root color? I forged ahead and worried throughout the processing time. Turns out there was no need to worry. The color is absolutely gorgeous! It not only blended the roots and the rest of my hair, but it gave me so much shine and depth it actually looks like I have subtle highlights. I have been bragging about it to anyone who will listen. When I saw my sister last week she was shocked. She usually pays a lot of money for a very talented colorist. But she has less and less time to do this so she has been contemplating coloring her own hair. I will definitely point her in this direction. The color, the shine, it really is salon quality.
I have been happy with all of my eSalon hair kits, but this time I asked for something a bit different. I wanted a darker shade of my normal color, but with a purple shine. Basically, at first glance, it should look "normal", but in the sun, I wanted it to blaze purple, like an unexpected surprise. And they pulled it off flawlessly. I love the color to pieces, and plan to get it again.
I have been using this for quite some time and it's so convenient and by having the automatic shipping, keeps me on track with coloring. The only color I have found to cover grey longer.
After 3 tries, you got it right! It matches my natural hair color, which is what I wanted (to cover gray). My only issue is that it fades. That is my fault for not using a color safe shampoo. I am using a shampoo for thinning hair. By the way, biotin supplements are wonderful for thinning hair.
Love the colour and how it left my hair. It's a little more than I want to pay as getting close to salon price with postage added,which is why I knocked a star off.
Color was nice and so natural. The colorist assisted me in correcting the color so it would meet my needs.My only disappointment in the product was that some the grey still showed thru and the color wasn't as shiny as I thought it would be. On the bright side, eSalon listened to me and are working to fine tune my next order. I was surprised how quick the color arrived. Great job eSaon.
Having just used my second colour with the adjustment I requested I can recommend E salon. I have found it easy to use and the results are just what I wanted. No need to worry about 're ordering its all done for you and the customer care is excellent. My only criticism is the stain remover wipe is not really enough for me as I apply the colour myself I do get rather a lot of colour on my face but that's more to do with me being messy but an extra wipe would be good. Thanks to all at e salon for the great service.
