Great service but colour not close enoughThis is a very hard review to write / explain. I'm naturally very fair haired, I would normally have my hair highlighted quite bright but with that I dont like the brassy / yellowish tones I lean towards the icy colours. In my order I opted for the all over demi permanent colour. On the break down of my specialised colour there was ash and mostly light blond, I just feel there was too much ash and it overpowered the light blond. For me I feel it has darkened my hair substantially. So in a way I'm pleased I opted for the demi permanent colour. Great idea, coverage could be betterThe kit supplied is great, sensibly supplying two pairs of gloves is a real help. Best not bother with the stain guard though as it’s too easy to get on the hair accidentally. I ended up washing it off and starting again, plus the remover works well enough. Liked the colour though the redder tones aren’t as prominent as I’d have hoped. Overall though the coverage of grey isn’t great. I only have a light sprinkling but there are plenty still uncoloured including some on my hairline that I particularly focussed on as they are bright and obvious. Ok experienceThe product did not cover the white spots near my ears.. but that was my fault as I am always very worried about the skin staining on my hair line. Had a hell of a time trying to tackle the back of my head and while tryinh my best I have to admit I missed the salon experience. The color is fine. The timing was quick and I did not mess upmy bathroom with dye everywhere. I liked the packing of the product and the idea. Nice to do this in the quiet of my own home. Not quite rightThis was my second round using the color which had been adjusted to be darker per my request and I was happy about that. The application was easy, instructions were good and everything arrived timely. I was excited to see that and all over color was also included in my order. I was bummed out when I got out of the shower and saw that my hair was noticeably LIGHTER than when I had started. I followed the directions to the T but, I now have a brown/auburn-y color when I had asked for a rich black. The questionnaire indicated a pearl black... I thought ooooo pretty! NOPE.. it's not. Not what I expectedI specifically made sure to select that I wanted an ash color. The color I was sent was a lot of “light blond” with a small amount of ash. I tried it anyway and it turned my roots a warm light auburn color. I DO NOT like warm colors and if I said my current dyed hair color was ash and I wanted ash blonde why would there be any warm in my color? I used to work in a salon I get color formulation and was going out on a limb trying esalon going out on a limb because I am no longer within driving distance of my salon. Unfortunately it’s not working for me. I also want to add it is very hard to get in contact with anyone. Your colorist you can only add a note and the only way I can do that is to reorder? Colours not as expectedI have tried two colours now to achieve a cool dark/medium blonde on my roots to match up with some blonde highlights I have and I first went a light ginger then the corrected colour sent to me has given me a dark ginger. Very cross as I explained to various people before I bought that I don’t want this to happen. I am naturally dark blonde and wanted to lighten my hair a bit but to blonde not ginger! I wouldn’t recommend using if you want a blonde finish as there is so much warmth in their colours. Not enough colorMy roots came out a lighter golden red blonde and the rest of my hair was more strawberry blonde. Would have enough for just roots but my hair is almost down to my waist so one bottle wasn't enough to cover all of my hair, Now I have strawberry blonde hair instead of the red that I had wanted. The kit is great, the smell is good, my hair feels good just not enough color so I didn't get the red I had wanted. I wanted Ash- I got an orange toneI was asking for an ash brown, like my natural color, but I got a mainstreem brown color, what I could get in every store. There was a better tone in a store one time, but i was 10 years ago. It‘s stinks to dead , i thouth I would die and my throut burns, I never felt something like this. I‘m really dissapointed.. but I give it one more try. The package was nice, full of love. The other items were good... I'm not happy.Hello. I was very excited to try your product. Actually my mom used to be a cosmetologist & did hair. So I asked her to cut & color my hair with your color kit. We did everything exactly like the instructions said to. At first I thought it looked great. Then once it dried...I still have streaks & spots where my gray roots didn't color at all! I thought even if I might not be satisfied with the color I chose...at least my grays would have been covered up. So I'm sorry to let you know I'm very disappointed. It is getting better.I was impressed with the first application. It was easy to apply and the color on top was perfect. The second second set was darker and more even. The third has lighten up a little, but it is all even through out. I am pleased with the evening of the color top to bottom. Not the color I wanted.After going through their questions and picking out your color, it barely changed my hair color at all. I wanted vibrant red and got light brown with reddish tones. I had high hopesI’d heard such wonderful things about esalon, yet after numerous emails, me sending in notes with pictures, color adjustments and a long phone call, I still end up with rust orange roots every time, and I’ve had to purchase many of esalon’s tint rinses and toning masks each time. I made it clear from the beginning I was used to going to the salon and knew nothing about hair, but I needed to cover my regrowth once COVID-19 arrived. My natural hair color was coming in with greys, and since I knew I couldn’t learn to do highlights🤪, I was just trying to touch up the roots and grow out my highlights. Yet every time I follow the instructions and get carrot like roots. The response from esalon has just been another color adjustment each time with no explanation or effort to fix things. The toning mask won’t even help. I have no confidence in trying the next color adjustment from them. I’m really sad because my hair looks awful and I feel self-conscious, plus disappointment that I’ve spent a significant amount of money on this. White coverage and orange shadeI liked the packaging and the amount of color was enough to cover all my hair. My hair looks shiny and healthier so I am satisfied with the quality of this hair color.However, My gray roots have not completely covered and faded away after the second time washing. Also I still have the red tone which I’d like to get rid of. I ordered the red neutralizer to help with that but that didn’t help either. Doesn't cover greysI have had my color reformulated 3 times just so that I end up with tinted, not colored greys. I have a lot of stubborn greys and after coloring they look light blonde at best. I've had better coverage from the store bought boxesI was really hoping to love this since I saw such good reviews! My previous color roots are still shining through this color that I was sent(soft blue black). From a distance in dim light you can't see it, but in bright light or sunlight, you see my old black plum color through. Wanted Blonde got redheadI am really annoyed. I thought we had corrected the problem from the first time, BUT NO! Now, I'll be going thru Christmas with flipping RED HAIR. and it is STILL TOO DARK!!!! How is this medium blonde, natural golden, IT IS RED. Everything great except for the color...I really enjoyed the experience of coloring my hair at home. Never done it myself ever, and I'm in my 40s. I've been a slave to the salon for 20+ years. After being frustrated at my salon colorist never wanting to do anything but foils on my hair, I decided to try something new. Here's what I liked about my eSalon experience - the packaging, the price, how glossy and shiny it made my hair, and the grey coverage. I'm just not happy with the color. I don't feel like it's what I asked for. I was expecting a dark blonde but I feel like I got a slightly gold-tinged version of my natural color - light brown. Also the roots came out lighter than the rest of my hair. It all feels like a bit of a disaster. Hoping it can be worked through and I can arrive at my perfect color with adjustments. Cannot use this colorAfter patch test ,very thankful I did it. Light Blonde with a neutral tone was very red. Very little gray coverageI’ve tried this twice now, my colorist adjusted my set after the first one because my grays were not covered. So with this set, she simply told me to leave the color on for 40 mins instead of 20 mins on my grays. No change to my formula was made, just the processing time. It seemed to be better this time, it looked darker. Now I’ve washed it once with a very well known salon color safe shampoo/conditioner and many of my grays are already showing again. Of note, I also noticed that my ends have lightened a couple of shades since washing this one time as well. Esalon is not the correct formula for me unfortunately. Update on my last color treatmentAs I wrote previously, I colored my hair, it still pulled red, yet I was going to give it another try. First off let me say that my hair growth is slow, in the norm I have very little new growth after 6 to 8 weeks, my grays start to appear around the six week mark. Having said this, with my first order I colored my hair and by the time I received my second order my grays were just starting to show, that was fine. This last order, I colored my hair shortly after having received my package (approx 10 days), I followed instructions as indicated (only the roots), I did not follow with the balayage because I wanted to wait and see how the color would come out. I try and wash my hair twice a week, and I noticed every time I color my hair, after I wash my hair the color changes, the color kind of settles, which I don't mind cause if the color came out well, after the first shampoo it comes through beautifully. As I said, I colored my hair (roots), as instructed, washed my hair, color was okay, still pulled red, even more so this time than the last (not happy), but I said to myself it is what it is.... Three weeks went by and lo and behold my roots started to show... and no, I still haven't done the Balayage Light Treatment... If I was disappointed last time with my color pulling red, this time around I'm extremely disappointed and unimpressed. It's like I was given a weaker formula??? With my hair growth being so slow, how in the world is it possible that after three weeks my grays/roots are showing? Kind of DisappointedI was so excited to receive my eSalon package. I chose a color out of my comfort zone and decided on a pearl purple dark brown. The photo online showed a hint of purple and I was ready for a change. The packaging is very cute and the directions are super easy to follow. The company really thought of everything. The product left my hair very shiny and smooth. However, there is ZERO purple in my hair. It just looks like plain dark brown (blackest brown). I followed the directions exactly as they were written. Color was too golden and I ordered an ash tone....Hi, Your light ash blonde was too golden in tone....I usually buy L'oreal Excellence---and thought I'd try yours since L'oreal seems to fade faster and faster....L'oreal's' and Clairol's light ash blonde level 9 colors impart a more ash tone than e-salons did. However, the E-salon was gentler to skin and hair---Clairol burns my neck and L'oreal doesn't cover gray as well. In addition, I like your liquid color in a bottle rather than having to squeeze color out of those tubes and all the accessories are nice , but I want great multi-dimensional color color that's long-lasting...we'll see how well yours measures up.... 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. going bald!I used the product and the color came out perfect! However, withing a few days I noticed my hair was falling out! A lot of hair. Quality product but not the color I wantedThe quality is great. It doesnt stain bathtubs, came with all the tools, two different shades for roots and ends and it left my hair soft, however, after following the directions to the tee and letting my stylist know my current dark color, my desired color did not come out. I picked a copper mahogany on dark brown hair. I got a 20 developer assigned to me. All it did was give my roots a slight red tint and my lighter brown tips a rusty bronze color. CoverageI thought maybe the first time was user error since I didnt get a full coverage but this time Im sure that I did not have enough color set to fully saturate my hair. I have patches of my natural hair color showing after first wash and sections that couldnt get enough dye on (basically squeezed everything out of the bottle that I could get) I have thick hair that just started to grow past my shoulders so I need more color next time or I need to cancel since im not satisfied with the coverage again. TextureI am satisfied with the color. My concern is that it gave my hair a somewhat rough and plastic feel - kind of like a toy dolls hair. My salon Aveda product left my hair shiny and silky. Maybe it would be best to NOT pull it through already treated hair?? It is easy to use. I find it fading away to a lighter brown where it previously covered gray. That doesn't happen with the Aveda nonpermanent product my salon used. I've never noticed fading just new growth. All that said this is a difficult time. Slight tone differencesI have been using this product for about 7 months now. This last box sent I feel the color was off. I got root touch up and it was darker than the rest of my hair. It is possible that my hair has bleached out in the sun and the tone of the ends of lighter now but I feel as though the color experts should account for this and follow up with us as clients to warn us that our color tone may change depending on the sun exposure. Wonderful Product, Difficulty With MatchingWhile I really like the hair color itself, as well as the application accessories, I have resistant grays that are not completely covering and my base color is still too light after an adjustment. My third order is on it's way and I'm hoping that by darkening it 1/2 shade I will get better gray coverage and a better match to what my hair color was previously. I do love the way my hair feels after coloring...the shampoo and conditioner provided are superb!! IneffectiveWhen I saw that my kit had 15vol developer I shouldn’ve pauses and not used it. I went ahead, because. I’m stuck at home and nobody sees me so, let’s experiment. I mixed up the color and applied to most of my regrowth at the roots and then around on some of my fading highlights and my “bangs” I left it on for 30 minutes because 15 vol. sure enough, my hair looks sort of strawberry blonde now? My husband can’t decide and that’s outside in the sun. My hair has no dimension and it’s lost it’s shine. I’ve used a salon quality purple conditioning masque that’s toned down the awful, yellow cast. I’m left a message after I used the product and was told I’d be contacted by a colorist. As of today I haven’t. I suppose I could have spent $10 on something else as useless. The company should be more cognizant that this is people’s hair. Blonde may be tough colorI just used my first kit. My hair color is a varied shade of blonde from light to light brown. The kit did not change the root color much, only making the white/grey roots white. Faded after one wash. Difficult greys on hairline still showingFirstly - the experience. The box, the 2 pairs of gloves, the stain guard and the stain remover.. and a separate bottle for roots and ends! For a locked down bored housewife it brought a bit of the elegance of a salon to the house. BUT, one wash in and the colour is notably less vibrant, barely looks like it’s dyed at all, and the greys at my parting/peak are still clearly lighter. The hair feels soft from the overall treatment/shampoo/conditioner, but if the colour washes out after 2 shampoos then it doesn’t matter; does it? Will not use again. The WORST! Buyer beware!I bought this product to touch up my blonde/light copper highlights around my face. The kit was labeled dark blonde/copper. The actual color is maroon! I'm not being dramatic, it was maroon. I filled out the online questionnaire, sent in photos, and specified exactly what I was looking to use it for....highlights just around my face! The product comes, I carefully read the instructions, mix the color, and start in with the foils. About halfway through I noticed that it just seemed really dark, which was odd, so I decided to take out the foils and finger comb my hair to blend the color. Understandably, I was nervous after seeing the intensity of the pigment so I decided to wash it out after 10 minutes versus leaving it in for the 20+ that the directions suggested. I cannot share how HAPPY I am that I listened to my intuition. The color isn't dark blonde, copper, or even brown. It is legitimately maroon! Fortunately since I blended it in, washed it out quickly, and only applied a small amount it isn't that bad but it absolutely is NOT good! I would never buy this product or recommend it to anyone. Also the fact that this statement "We reserve the right to not post your review or remove it for any reason." is posted on their review page leads me to believe that all of their "5 Star reviews" are bogus! Almost thereThe color was nice, but not quite true to the photo. I expect more violet undertone and it seemed just reddish to me. Gray coverage was OK. It didn't quite saturate and was very light compared to the rest of my hair. Thankfully I don't have too much gray hair, just some strands around my temple. I didn't have an issue with gray coverage with other brands and I followed the instructions to the T. (The instructions by the way were very detailed, which is a plus) The additional color that was included for my ends smelled so strong with ammonia. Which is strange because the color for my roots didn't have much of a smell. I like how my hair didn't feel damaged after and seemed smoother and shinier. Extremely DisappointedI explained to the colorist that my hair was a washed out brown, it hasn't been dyed in over 6 months and that I wanted to go lighter for summer. I also explained that my hair pulls red. After using the color that I was sent it is exactly the opposite of what I wanted! It is now darker with red undertones. Good start with some complicationsThe pack contains well written instruction, gloves, shampoo and conditioner, stain protector, stain remover and enough product. I was surprised that there was no brush. Considering that other necessary items were provided and well though of, I did not expect that and maybe it was my first ever application, I had no own brush. It made my life really complicated and in the lock down it is not easy to get hold of a brush! I hope my next time will be easier. Poor resultsMy hair prior to coloring was a very bright blonde and my roots were showing. After using the color treatment sent to me by the salon it turned my hair red! Did not work for meI ordered a different colour to my usual colour. I explained I had tough grey roots and that I had long hair that I had dyed darkest brown so much the ends look black. Slightly strange outcomeThis is easy to use and overall pleasant experience of colouring at home. Little mess, clear instructions. I've used bowl and brush for application. The outcome is mixed: colour matching and grey coverage is good, but in some areas my hair turned orange. Small spot in parting and small spots on the temples. Brassy tones.....grrrrrrSpecifically stated ASH tone. Received my eSalon color kit which was very nicely put together I must say and it arrived very quickly too. I was so excited to color my grow out and I used the brush and bowl technique. Sadly, after washing out the color, I could see lots of brassiness while my hair was still wet and while blow drying, cringed at seeing all the brassiness in my roots. Used my purple shampoo to tone the brassiness down but it is still not what I'm used to. The eSalon colorist created a more "warmer" color of medium brown for my hair then a cooler ash tone that I had specified. Sorrry not for me! Custom ColorStaff was friendly, & very nice. They were EXTREMELY busy due to Covid-19. My order took a very long time however because they were so busy it’s very understandable. But anyone needing something now during this pandemic keep that in mind. Directions were so easy, application easy, everything was great about the product itself. Hair care kit was very nice. Color however wasn’t what I asked or wanted, it was more of a brown Because it was so brassy then a dirty blonde. I was blending the bottoms up to my natural roots to cover previous blonde ends— but the bottom is now more of a brassy brown color. I may order again to cover it up it’s so bad! 😭 I truly think this company would be 10/10 when they can take the time on the order and get back to you and throughly help you get what you want. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Sadly didn't cover GreyI gave all the information on my salon color (Brand/forumla) as well as general information about my hair. I watched all the videos (some multiple times) and followed instructions to the T as best I could here on my own....Sadly while it has "muted" the grey it didn't cover it....is there something else I should do? adjustment to formula? just try again? can't see on the website how to reach out to my colorist.....love the idea of this and hope can get more information to make it work better 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. went brown instead of blongI received my color the other day and dyed my hair with the color that was adjusted based on my photo. I was trying to go more blond and the color that is "dark blond" made my hair darker. I don't hate it but my original intent was to go more blond not more brown. Did not cover grey.I used as instructed, like all precious dyes. I left it on 10 mins longer than recommended. Only coloured 50% of gray, within 2 weeks all gray was visible. Non gray hair was fine, colour was ok. 0 of 0 people found this review helpful. Did you? |

Does not last for at least 2 weeksHello! Thank you for letting me try the product again. As observed before, the solution smells good/ not strong and I loved it. My first bottle lasted for 6 days and my gray roots were very obvious in less than a week. This second solution, I used it last Feb. 13th, my hair was fresh and clean and I followed all directions religiously. I tried not to wash my hair 3x a week like I regularly do but I washed every 4 days instead, hoping to save the color. Unfortunately, my scalp was very itchy and not used to washing for longer days gap. This time, the gray came quite obviously after 11 days. I would like to keep this product as it smells great to me and the color Is perfect but it does not last longer for at least half a month. It is hard to keep coloring my hair more often if the product does not last longer. Oh, did I mention that that when I used the product 2x, my scalp was burning for at least 5-8 minutes and slowly faded away. I don’t know if this is a normal effect, but I did not have this sensation using other boxed hair dye. Maybe this product is good but it does not work well for me. It might work well with others though. It might be my type of straight, thin and fine Asian hair that’s the problem. Anyway, thank you so much but I will not subscribe. color was beautiful but--I loved the color. But it took out all the volume. I have fine hair and struggle to get volume. Use high end shampoos and conditioners to get a little lift. Useually coloring helps to add some volume but that's not the case with your product. My fine hair won't tease to get volume.
