I found this very east to use. Hair was beautiful after process, I just wish the formula was darker. My roots did not take on the same shade as the rest of my hair
The color is nice but since I started using this product my hair seems so dry. Keep conditioning but it still seems very dry. Not sure if I will continue using this product.

This colour is not only salon worthy but has also saved me a pretty penny! Easy to follow instructions, efficient service with great results. The only reason I didn’t give 4 stars was because the colour fades pretty rapidly (although I still love the faded colour) possibly because it’s the summer?
Easy and convenient I chose to use the bottle and brush method and followed the steps by step instructions which are persis, and I love it!! I will be getting additional conditioner next time though I felt that my hair was not as soft or as hydrated as when I get it done in the salon.
The colour and condition of my hair have never been this good. It’s the best dye I’ve ever used. Although it’s more expensive than a over the counter dye it’s worth ever penny.
I’ve never liked coloring my own hair. It always turns out too brassy. I never could find the right color or brand on the shelf that I liked. I’ve had my hair colored professionally for many years. With COVID I had to decide to let my hair go or do something. I saw eSalon on Facebook. Thought I’d try it. I wanted strawberry blonde. The first formulary they sent was too red. It was a combination of dark blonde, red and copper. I was scared but tried it. Not happy with my hair. But, I gave them feedback and they adjusted the amounts of each color. I’m very happy this time. I wish I felt more confident doing the back of my head. It will take practice I’m thinking.
I really like the ease of doing my own hair color, but the past two times, it doesn’t seem to cover my gray as good or as long. I have been leaving the color on for 40 minutes instead of 30 minutes as suggested and that doesn’t work either. I am wondering if the formula has changed.
Hair color or developer is causing my entire scalp to itch horribly. I realized this was what caused the problem when I used my old hair color and developer and had no itching.
Color is great. Just what I wanted. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it fades quickly. My hair is dark. It fades to reddish, orangish and I don’t like that.

My hair is shinier and full since using your product, however, the only worry that I have is that it contains ammonium hydroxide which many salons do not use anymore. I am concerned that overtime, my hair will get brittle and weak. I only use this product on my roots but love the end result.
During the pandemic I really needed to refresh my hair color. I tried Madison Reed and loved the color and condition of my hair after coloring. I miss the brush being in the kit. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is that I have short hair and really don't need 20oz. Wish they had a 10oz option (or a kit with two 10oz options. I struggled to get the gloves on as well as they were very tight. I do like that 2 sets of gloves and very detailed instructions are provided. Also like the "mist" bottle provided for in-between colorings (although I haven't used it yet).
NOW...For the second time there are NO gloves in the order!!! I had not heard a word earlier when it was missing one pair of gloves...but luckily we are in the Covid world and I had to use my emergency gloves. Very disappointing!!!

Covered all my grey edges which frame the front of my face completely. It was a little more red than I wanted. But I was able to tell the Colorist to tone down the red and increase the blonde.
Love e salon hair color but would like to reduce red undertones if possible. I do naturally have some reddish undertones so not sure if it’s possible to do this.
I love the color ad ease of use. However, the main reason for coloring my hair was to cover my grays. The color was great for about a week but then the grays started to show again. It's not terrible by any means, but I was a bit disappointed that they resurfaced so soon.
I have always loved the Esalon experience. I can custom color my hair while cleaning up my home and without finding childcare. However recently they have brought up the free shipping requirement. This is making me consider another service. The other products in past I have added to get 5 dollars more to my minimum. But now would be $15 dollars to add and I don't desire the extra unnecessary products esp when they are in unfriendly pastic bottles.
I used the formula sent to me. I love the color. I had one issue. The final step was overwhelmingly noxious of ammonia. I suggest you do this with the shower curtain open a little and before turning on the shower because I was really overwhelmed with the ammonia. Otherwise, the poor is perfect for me and brought out my natural skin tones and eye color. Thank you.
I like it but I keep having trouble with getting my whites to fully cover. I don’t have much white hair it is at the front of my face and that is the area I have trouble fully covering. I tried more time and they adjusted the color but still have trouble. Otherwise, I like the color and the fact that it doesn’t stain much.
I loved everything except the gray came in very soon. Within the first week. So thats been disappointing as it continued to show more as the days go on.
I liked the color recommended, and although there were a few steps required to achieve the color, the result was satisfactory. My only concern was the inability on my part to color the gray adequately. I wish there was a better method to achieving this.
My first time ever coloring my own hair. I used the brush method, and did pretty good. Love the color, but need to see how it looks when the gray grows out, as I may darken it just a bit...not sure now.
This product is amazing!! The colour looks like I got it done at a salon not from a box. I absolutely love it however I do not love the fact that it took well over a month to get here to Canada. Unfortunately that is most likely just our post COVID world and still won’t deter me from keeping my subscription.
Only reason for loss of one star is that this time my hair is too dark. However salon immediately responded to my concern and have amended y next colour accordingly! So looking forward to my September colour .And here is another * for prompt response!
Click, click, click to choose your color! Gets to you in time! Easy to use and apply and you don’t get a crazy what?! color, you get a nice blend and great fresh hair color. I just wish it would not dry my hair as much. I’ll ask them what to use so it stays soft and hydrated longer.
Also I wish someone would call us when we change a color a little so we get real help; what we think is probably not really possible with a click, it can be confusing from the color we have to one we dream:)

OK so on Zoom constantly during the pandemic-this is no time to let nature take over my hair. I was really happy with the color and I am not particularly talented applying it. When I went back to my "person" as much because I missed her as the need to get my hair done-actually more. she had to admit it looked pretty good. And you know that means great!
I guess I didn’t do a good job picking a brown with red highlights. My daughter did the process for me and the directions were exact. My gray up front is coming through looks like a blond streak, my daughter says that is because gray is tough to hide.

I have now used eSalon three times. The first time, color was a bit dark. I let eSalon know and they adjusted the color. With the second application, color was right, but I didn't do a great job -- lots of gray still showed, especially in the back. The third time was the charm -- great color, good application and lots of compliments!
I liked the colour when I was finished. The only problem is that there are 2 areas in front that still didn't absorb the colour even though I put lots of colour on those areas. I'm not sure what can be done about that. Otherwise the colour was what I expected it to be.
This is my 2nd time using this product, but not sure what happened this time. For some reason I feel I developed an allergy to it. I'ts been a week since I applied it, and the itching in the scalp and around it does not go away. I can feel the rash like bumps around my scalp/neck line. Again, I'm not sure it it's me this time. I loved it the first time, and I'll try it a 3rd time.
My beautician applied this color and we both liked the kit and results. However, beautician says she can duplicate the color in her shop and its not necessary for me to buy kits since I am not coloring my hair anymore.

It covered it's a good color it's just not the color I was looking for I was looking for a strawberry blond but it was my fault that I got the wrong color and not yours
I tried to include an applicator brush with my custom color set, but instead it was shipped separately and I incurred a extra fee, although I’d specified I did not want to make a separate order and the brush could be included in my next scheduled delivery.
I am getting to learn how to do root touch up by myself during COVID pandemic. Thank you Esalon for the nice color match and great personal colorist customer service. The only concern is sometime the chemical odor was strong when I applied the color.
My hair was great for A while but it very quickly became brassy and reddish again Within a few weeks. I wash my hair 2 times a week, use colorfast products, and don’t use hot hot water and it still faded after a few weeks
I really like the product but last order I did not receive a brush and only one pair of gloves , which made it very difficult. I wrote to you but no reply

I loved the red ... but you still have yet to give me my “want” ... I WANT ALL MY HAIR RED not just the roots . As I have repeatedly mentioned, I colored my hair BLACK so all except the regrowth is black and I don’t want that... I need THAT black STRIPPED OFF... hear me please! So far all I’ve received are BANDAIDS... NOT MY WANT.... HELP PLEASE
Impressed with the kit - colour was great and seemed to work well for my hair type. Will have to purchase two developer kits for future orders as one bottle won’t quite cover my hair.
I appreciate E-salon for so many reasons. Their product is superb! My color is perfect and my hair is never over processed. Last month, when my regular shipment was lost in the mail, they immediately sent me a replacement at no charge. They even notified me that the package had been lost in the mail! That kind of customer service is difficult to find these days!
Before this final successful fifth attempt, I tried 4 drug store colors and the 1 previously mixed by ESalon. The main challenge was to find a light blonde that is both consistent with my prior natural hair as well as completely covers white and gray. Light blond hair has less pigments for color to attach itself to than darker hair, consequently is harder to achieve, also in terms of the stronger chemicals.
The first two drug store colors, while consistent with my natural hair, offered no other coverage. The third and fourth provided somewhat better coverage, however that washed out after a couple of weeks, more or less forcing me to color every month, which I consider too frequent given the chemicals and expenses involved. The fourth was touted by the industry as providing the single best gray coverage, true for only the first couple of weeks, and areas also turned orange. A stylist told me that drug store brands, because they have to work for everyone, include extremely harsh chemicals, such as carpet dyes, which explained the noxious fumes, and nevertheless the product was still washing out!! Had they upped the chemicals on that brand even just minimally, I can say without exaggeration that I would have passed out during application. That is when I decided to find a personalized colorist. I couldn't afford to walk around with different colored patches of grayish/orange hair becoming worse after every wash.
Your colorist accomplished the task of a light blond hair color that completely covers white and gray, doesn't wash out, and keeps chemicals, fumes and the like within acceptable range. Thanks for listening and producing a great final product.
Nice colour and service but it faded quickly on my greys at the roots.

The service was brilliant and I loved the colour at first but after just two washes it faded at the roots but not on the lengths (possibly due to my stubborn greys). This was even with a very well known brand of colour safe shampoo.
I started coloring my hair on my own during the pandemic. I initially used Clairol Nice and Easy, which wasn't bad but I found my hair was coming out too brassy and yellowy (yes, I had both going on)y. For this reason, I had to do do a "blue" mask the day after I colored my hair followed by a "purple" mask two days after that--5 five day process--I did the toners on dry hair and let them sit for about 20 minutes before rinsing. Additionally, I was using toner shampoos twice a week-I needed to do this to keep the tones in my hair "calm". I came across eSalon and explained to them what my issue was with my existing color and what I wanted (less brassy/yellow-yes, I had both coming through) and I also sent them pictures of me and my hair in several settings: what my hair looked like in the house, and how it looked outside in the sun and poolside). eSalon provided me with a custom color and specific instructions on how to apply the color to my hair. I was able to follow the directions and I am VERY happy with my hair color now. I colored it today and there is no need for me to put any toner/mask into my hair to tone down brassy/yellow hues. That in and of itself is fantastic. Right now, I rate eSalon a five and will continue to use them--the amount of time and money I am saving not going to a salon, for me, is great. I work full time five days a week and was never a fan of taking a weekend day or evening to "get my hair done" (I am not one who likes sitting in a salon for two hours while my hair is colored). Let's see how the color settles over the next few weeks and I will report back. Right now, yaaaa!!!

Ok, I was terrified to do this. It sounded like a great idea until the package arrived. Then, I absolutely had to do it...no excuses. My instructions said for me to do roots only. But I wanted all over color. I called and was connected with a certified hair colorist immediately. She explained why it had to be roots only. And I got a pep talk making me feel that maybe, I could actually pull this off! So I figured, “ok, I’ll play your silly game. What can I lose that can’t be fixed?” Well, all I can say is that it’s probably the best hair color I’ve ever had. It is gorgeous. My hair is shiny and full of body and life. My friends couldn’t believe how beautiful and natural looking it is. They attribute it to my skill, but I know better. I know I screwed up several times. It’s all about the beautiful color and the support I got when I called.
My colorist chose the most beautiful red highlights inside my custom color ! However, it did not " blend" the way I had hoped it would. I have sections of heavy saturation of color and barely any in others. Probably more to do with my hair than the color. I would love the " custom red" all over though!
