Requested changes made as asked. Much better grey coverage. However, color still more strawberry blonde rather than medium beige blond. Anticipating it to become brassy as it has previously.
I thought the product was great when I used it, it matched my hair perfectly. The directions were helpful, more so than normal box dyes. I also feel like it was more natural than the box dye I usually buy, it didn’t smell so strongly of chemicals. I was very happy with the product until a few weeks (3) went by and it seemed to have completely faded. I can see all of my grays again. Usually when I dye my hair it lasts at least 8 weeks or so. I can’t decide if I will buy again as it really doesn’t seem to last as long as I would like.
The instructions could not make the application easier, and they are written so anyone can easily do it! I would only request that a new applicator brush be put into each kit!

I tried this for the first time, as I was tired of how my texture of my hair was getting with box dye. While the smell was much better than store bought, the coverage was not great. I followed directions to the T, but i guess my hair is resistant to the type of coloring that they use. With it being double the price of store bought, I expected better coverage. I was definitely disheartened when I dried my hair. Customer service contacted me quickly, and they're working on correcting the issue with my hair.
I wonder if I'm doing something wrong because I find the shampoo doesn't remove the dye. It feels greasy for a while and I can run out of hot water. The coverage is great. Perhaps not quite the purple I'd ideally want but it's close.
I have always shopped for bargains and hair colour products which are £5 and under so even with the half price offer for the first hair colour (£14.95) this was way above what I usually pay. I was curious about this 'supposedly' being customised to the individual and expected to be disappointed. I had already decided I wouldn't be subscribing as it was far too expensive, but, I was so taken by my first Hair Colour that, despite it being way, way above what I normally pay, I went for the full price next order. I love the colour it gives me so I am prepared to cut back in other areas to allow me to continue to receive this product.
When it is applied it feels really strange and I have more than once had the thought that it feels like it might be detrimental to my hair health and yet, the result is great and draws comments about how great my hair colour is. And it gives me the exact coppery highlights/colour that I've been seeking.
I got my custom color in yesterday. Before I used it, I read some of the reviews. I was kind of scared to try it. I opened up my package today and read the instructions, and then kind of stared at the product for a while. I used to go to the Salon, but I'm on disability and can no longer afford that luxury. I was coloring with store bought boxed color, but it never ever came out the color I wanted, and would put my hair in a ponytail under a hat. I was so discouraged, until NOW!!!! I prepped, I colored, and omg, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair!! It turned out just like I had gone and spent $100.00 on my hair!! The color is perfect, my hair is so healthy looking. I cannot say enough about my custom color and esalon!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! The only other thing is next time, I'm going to order the highlights with the color!! I keep looking in the mirror, because I still can't believe how much I love my hair! Covered every single gray!!! You have one very satisfied customer!!!
I loved this colour but did find I got in more of a mess than usual applying the colour, I really needed two pairs of gloves because of the two applications, roots and ends. My grey didn't take as well as I hoped but I'm trying a shade darker to see if that helps.
I have quite a few stubborn grays. I find that this hair color works well to cover them up, but over time, the color fades and the grays grow out. Due to my own preference, I do not recolor my hair as often as I should to keep my grays covered.
Didn't cover my greys as well as I hoped, but I'll have to go to the salon for that and use this in between, just don't want to over do it, as I'm not sure how often I should be coloring.
I love my newest color - well done! However, after thinking I had applied enough of the color to my roots first like the directions stated and then pulling it out to the ends, I found that it didn't fully cover some of my grays at the root. Perhaps this should be chalked up to user error, but I thought I had covered all areas well enough.

I followed the instructions but after shaping I noticed the gray hair on my forehead line still were there ,the color didn't covered them.
I would like same color but with some lighter highlight if is possible.

I had a really hard time trying to color my own hair. The stain remover wipe was a bit small for me. I am the first to admit, I am not the neatest person in the world, when it comes to coloring my own hair. I have had it slopped on the rug, the bathroom door, the mirror, and somehow, the ceiling of my bathroom. Don't ask me how I did that last one. My husband will come back and clean me up, but with this custom hair color, he tried and tried to get it off my skin. It was on there for about 2-3 weeks before it started wearing off. I did use the stain guard wipe. He did use the stain remover wipe, and even he said that it was too small. He thinks, as I do, that they either need to be bigger, or you need to have more then 1 little packet in the package. Like I said, I am not the neatest person when it comes to coloring my own hair. Other then that, everything was great. My color stayed. My roots are now showing, as it has been about 12 weeks since the last time I colored. But I will be straightening my hair before dying it again, so I will have to change the order for next time.
Love the color and not having to hunt for my color in stores or pay a fortune for someone to color my hair.
Delivery #5 included 2 shampoos, but no color remover cloth. 😢
I recommend this hair color and their service is really good. I am returning after not ordering for a year because I want the personalized service they provide.
Like the color, I just wish it covered grays better

The first day I color my hair, I feel fantastic. The color is vibrant, my hair feels soft and doesn't get frizzy like it usually does, and my self-confidence hits an all-time high! But it is short lived. No matter how long I leave the hair color on around my temples and the top of my forehead, the greys are poking through within days. I've tried the root refreshing spray but it doesn't work for me. I wish there was a way to make the color more "potent" for covering my gray, because it's so close to being perfect.
I was a bit nervous but it's exactly what I wanted. My only comment is that with my hair I must keep it on much longer than 15 minutes. my hair is too dark and 15 is just not long enough.
I liked the color that was made for me, but it washed out of my blonde hair in about 2 weeks.
It's not worth the money if it's going to keep washing out every 2 weeks.
I did explain that in the beginning when I ordered your product. That I was a natural blonde and had a hard time keeping red in my hair.
The color was beautiful but, i needed more dye, my hair is VERY thick and long. I just didn't have enough to color all over. I like how it completely covered my gray roots.
Colour was fantastic and the how to apply instructions were spot on. 4 stars rather than 5 as some of my greys started peeking through in a couple of weeks so need to see next time whether that’s due to my application or the colour itself
I had red hair before dying my hair to the dark brown that I received from eSalon, I would have to dye my hair one more time before actually getting rid of all the red. Washing the dye out was annoying, I had to shampoo and condition my hair several times before actually feeling like all the dye was out. Kinda slimy and thick product. My hair does look good enough to order again. I just wish they would work on how thick and slimy the product is.
stopped my orders as I had asked for brown ash color to be less red and instead I wound up with black color. I am 78 years old and now have this dark colored hair. very disappointed. I called company and the lady said I had to stick to darker color and nothing could be done????????????The best part of your hair color is it lasts and doesn't fade. My problem is when the coloryou last sent was too dark. what can I do. I would have like the dark ash blond maybe to lighten up this black head of hair.
Formula more effective than other online hair color offerings.

I requested a dark brunette with the strength to cover some light gray areas while trying to keep my color as close to my natural shade as possible. I used the product 3 times. The gray coverage was great but after the first coloring my hair was a brassier/warmer than I wanted. I gave the feedback to my colorist who attempted to correct in my 2nd order. I couldn't tell any difference in the color so I switched to Madison Reed to try their product. I was not impressed with their coverage, which unlike eSalon, did not cover my gray at all.
My only complaint on eSalon was that I felt like there was a lot of heavy residue after washing out the color due to the gel formula. The 2nd time I did it, I followed the instructions exactly and the step of adding water to the remaining formula and applying and lathering through the hair before rinsing the color out made a big difference. Not perfect but much, much better. And considering the coverage I get with this product, worth the extra step.
Now if I can just get my color right, I would be very happy with the product and service. I'm trying again and asking for the Iced Latte effect to remove all/more of the warmth. I may have unrealistic expectations in this regard!
I love the color but had trouble washing it out. Hair still feels a little gummy in a couple places. I washed it three times and decided that was enough. My normal hair is dark blonde and I got light blonde to touch up roots. The color is perfect but wonder why it is so hard to wash out?
The color is even and lasts longer than Revlon, or L'Oreal, but the conditioner and shampoo are seriously lacking. I am on the monthly plan and it is nice to just receive it and not go to the store.
I liked the set so much and that they sent a second color for my ends. I think the root color should have been on it longer. My roots are already lighter than the rest so I’ll have to color sooner than I would normally as my blonde hair grows out. I like the direction of the formula though I think I’d like it a bit deeper than it turned out.
Just tried this hair dye for the first time, packaging is lovely and has a very professional feel. Very happy with the results, it's the colour i wanted and looks like it's been done at a salon. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is the dye was very difficult to rinse out, it stuck to my hair even after a few shampoos. It left a residual coating on my hair leaving it feeling greasy after I'd straightened it.
I've got to find some way of splitting my product in half. There was enough for two applications for my short pixie. I would like it to be a little darker and a little more towards the darker end of red than copper, but overall had great coverage and was very easy to apply.
I love the color and it lasts longer than Prefference but I ended up with the ends being a lot lighter than the roots. I will try to bring the root color all the way to the ends and see how that works this time.
I absolutely loved the dark mahogany color that was sent. I did initially have a problem with the color leaving a waxy like residue on my hair, but that was soon rectified by washing again with a mild shampoo. This unfortunately removed some, but not most of the red top gloss, but the color is still good after a few weeks. I am now looking forward to my next delivery where I have asked for more red in the root application to counteract this.
You have made the opening of the color bottles larger than they were in the past. I have found now that the larger opening is a problem when pouring into the plastic developer bottle. Which has a small opening. The past 2 times I've mixed these the permanent color has spilled over onto my counter. Not sure why you changed that. Also the shampoo and conditioner packets are much harder to open in the new design.
I followed the instructions step by step and asked for the light Ash Blonde. It didn't come out as light as I wanted it and turned out quite dark.
However I still really liked the colour. It is basically my natural hair colour that I haven't seen in years! Not a block colour either looks like I have highlights and low lights.
Just a shame that it wasn't exactly the right colour...
Great coloring product still, but the shampoo packet is a pain in the shower

The packet doesn’t tear right; the hole wasn’t big enough to extrude the shampoo out. I didn’t want to leave the shower dripping wet to find scissors either. Needless to say, I kept the water running longer than I should while I struggled to re-tear the packaging. (Ditto the conditioner.)
Love the product but very upset with price of orders!

Love the product but very upset with price of orders! I never requested the Color Kiss added to my orders. I do not use them and am now stuck with 3 of these at an unbelievable cost of $12 each. I am now $36 in the hole and would like to send them back with free shipping as I never requested these. I actually still have the free sample sent way before. This happened before and I had to cancel the touch-ups. I don't know how they got re-added to my account but I am very upset they did. I rarely check e-mails anymore and somehow missed this but I must cancel any future orders as I can only afford the store bought from now on. Thank you for the great color though.

My first color turned out very ashy on me. My colorist mixed a dark blonde and golden blonde, but it turned grey blonde, and not in a good way. I have tan skin, so anything too dark makes me monotone. I loved the personalization and all the extras my kit came with, so I am giving my next shipment a try.
Update: 2 years later, this is cheaper than going to the salon or beauty store. If you're specific, your colorist will match as much as possible, just pay attention to the tones they mix together. The instructions are easy to follow and it lasts for a while. I'm a loyal customer for sure.
But gave it 4 stars due to ease of ordering and great customer service. The color was very easy to apply and smells pretty good... it looked very natural when first applied which is unusual for my fine hair...which usually sucks in color and comes out too dark. The bad part is the color did not cover gray roots very well and does not last very long. (However, truth be told, I have always had a problem with color lasting...very porous hair, which doesn’t seem to hold color!) will definitely try again

I loved the color, it did not last as long as I expected. None the less the color was great and does last longer compared to box products.
This has been my first time to attempt to color at home. To be honest, I am very clumsy, so I did not have much faith in my efforts, but my colorist's price tag for color+tip in the rural area is $80-90, and it is costly considering that I need to visit her every month. Anyway, I tried it and followed the instructions precisely. It was messy and due to my long hair very inconvenient. The product itself is great though, the color is fabulous (I just colored, so I don't know how long it will last). The only thing is, my roots did not take very well, it was a bummer. I think I will try to do the front of my head first, and the back after. So I will give it another chance. The color itself is fantastic, very rich, so five stars! Also, I like how fancy it is packed and personalized :)
I like the convenience of receiving my hair color in the mail, I don't have to bother to going to the store. Also, it does cover up the gray very good. The only down fall is that it can be sometimes be hard to put in on by yourself especially since I have a lot of hair and it can get messing.
I love the color that I have now but unfortunately it fades after 3 weeks. I wish it would last longer not thrilled on the idea of having to redye my hair every 6 weeks. I have fragile thin, fine hair.
My natural hair color is a medium auburn that has always been coppery in sunlight. I tried various color combinations to keep it as my hair darkened and greyed with the years. I know that with hair color, red shades tend to fade fast. This is the first product that doesn't do that. I can actually go for up to 3 months with e-salon color, with such a gradual change of color that the new hair growth is barely noticed.
I like the color itself with this product but i do not like the way my hair feels afterwards. No matter how much rinsing i do, my hair feels like it has glue in it for the first couple washes.
I love the color and the price, but the smell of the formula is really overwhelming... and it’s super hard to wash out of my mid-back-length hair. Taking a break from esalon to try a similar service that is supposed to be ammonia-free.
However the bottles was closed so tight I could not get them open with my hands . I had pry open the bottles with a steak knife to get open which could of been dangerous. Otherwise my color is awesome. Received a lot of compliments
I love the color but I had an awful time trying to get the cap off of the color bottle. My daughter couldn't get it off either. We ended up having to poke a hole in the bottle with a paring knife, which the tip broke off of. Is there a way not to tighten them so tight???
The first color I got scared me it was way too orange for my tastes. I called them up they listened and took notes they sent me out a new color (with violet undertones) and I put it on and I’m in love! Thanks for listening and for the red! Redheads have more fun!
