the color was great.and it lasted a good long time.....what I would like is less product for a root touch up.....I have very short hair and it seemed like a threw away a good portion of the product.....how about offering a smaller amt of product for less cost so we with really short hair can maintain the super color.....without feeling like we are wasting $ by flushing it down the drain......I know I sound like a whiner but I really loved the color and quality results but spent $ for too much product......I guess I could half the mix on my own.....would this work ????
“Change is good” and this change was good but shocking. I went from light blonde with streaks to a much darker reddish tinted dark brown with out streaks. I have had positive feedback and feel more sophisticated which at age 55 is a good thing. I do however live in an area where there are very few blondes and I miss the individuality of being unique. I think if there was a way to lighten it a little or add some highlights, lowlights, or anything at all unique I would love to try. Overall, I was very impressed with the original kit that made sure my brown roots were changed so that the second color would be successful as well. Overall very impressed.
Your shampoo and conditioner are heavily perfumed! Do you have some that are less fragrance? I appreciate any help you can give me. I am allergic to fragrence. Thanks
I really liked this color especially when I first died it. I had an easy time dying my hair myself but it was a bit messy. My only complaint is that it began to fade after only 4 washes so I would like something that is more permanent
I'm a natural redhead and when you are standing at the store looking at hair color and you see rows of boxes dedicated to blonde shades and maybe two or three for red (usually shoved in with the browns), it's a bit frustrating. (But, hey we are only about 2% of the world population so I get it.) When I found eSalon my first thought was it would be a great in-between appointments option as I have long hair and was paying $250-300 a shot to get my hair matched to my natural color to hide the white (redheads don't go grey). I wanted to save some $$ but never thought I could get the same quality color that I was getting at my high end salon. I WAS WRONG!!!! I now use eSalon exclusively and love it! I occasionally go to one of those inexpensive haircut places to get a trim and last time I went the stylist said, "I absolutely love your hair color, where did you get it done?" What more could you ask for in a hair color? This redhead loves eSalon!!!!
So Icoloredmy hair last night. I used thecolorlocking conditioner which Ihad not used in the past. My hair is sticky waxy and looks wet. I washed it 4 different times to no avail and the product was still a mess on my hair. currently I am at the salon having a Malibu treatment to try and restore s normal texture. Why !!! Why??? And How can you sell this stuff. cancel my account. Cancel everything!
I liked the color. Though it was a little darker than I was expecting. But when I went to wash it out of my hair, it had a tacky/gummy feeling. Even after washing twice. Why?
The color is great I really like it. The problem is with the gray coverage being slightly too red. We kept it on for a great amount of time before applying to the remainder of hair and it was too red. Otherwise, I love the mahogany/brown - maybe we just need to do a lesser percent of red?
I colored it October 8th and it's been looking great but now (10/29) starting to fade and a few grays (not a lot) poking out...not a root issue...just a little dull and my stubborn grays emerging. I am not due to color again until 11/16 - can I change the date? is there something I can do to make it last?

In September, my color was due to be shipped (dark brown) and I changed it to LIGHT BROWN. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED LIGHT BROWN COLOR AS OF 11/1/17.....my last color was 6/17. My hair is seriously graying!!!!!! Why have I NOT received my LIGHT BROWN COLOR YET??? I have been charged for it and it was paid for, just have NOT received it yet.
At this point, I will give you a few more days to make amends WITHOUT CHARGING MY ACCOUNT. Please send my LIGHT BROWN COLOR SOON!!
For years, I have wanted to dye my hair red without it looking too artificial and bright against my cool porcelain skin. I have had my hair dyed a few times, each being more of a disappointment than before as the hair stylist colored my hair what they (been to multiple) thought was best for me instead of listening to the customer. After paying $190.00 for a color and cut job that was not at all like I had wanted and tired of dealing with very opinionated hair stylists, I decided to dye my own hair after seeing an ad on Facebook for ESalon. I cannot be any happier with my hair color! For once in my life, I actually got a hair color that I love and it looks natural against my very pale complexion. I am very glad that the colorists on ESalon actually listen to their customers and strive to make them happy. I definitely will be coloring my hair from now on with the help of the wonderful hair colorists here at ESalon and recommend to any one who wants to get the hair color of their dreams.
Cannot fathom how eSalon sent me BLACK hair color in error. Their mistake has caused me to be forced to either let my hair grow out or cut off all my hair. Notified them and they credited my account and resent Dark Brown Hair color WITHOUT telling me it wouldn’t work on black hair!!!!! Totally inconceivable and depressed. I never requested black color and even if I did, they had pictures of my existing color and if they had read my profile, they would have questioned my choice of black!!!! Now I walk around with fair skin, light green eye color and JET BLACK HAIR. I called them and finally talked to someone who admitted their mistake yet acted unsympathetic in telling me to either have it professionally stripped and recolored or to allow it to grow out. Small gesture after they ruined my life as a black head!
This is the third time using your product and I do like it. I only have one concern and that it is too dark of a red. I wish it would be a tad lighter.
I would have def loved it if it was more of the color I was looking forward to. Giving it a second try because I love everything about them... MUST TRY!
Somehow my June 1st shipment was way too dark even though it was the second time receiving the exact same formula. It looked so fake :(
I spoke to a colorist and they lightened the formula which I received in August. Much better!! My hair looks great again!! Thank you!!
I Initial purchased eSalon hair color back in Jan 2017, shoved it in my closet because I thought it was like the other products and never gave it a thought. I continued to go my hair dresser to have my roots colored along with my hair highlighted. I even bought over the counter root touch ups which faded out in 1 to 2 weeks. Well tonight I found that my eSalon in the closet and gave it a try.....OMG MY HAIR COLOR IS SO VIBRANT AND SHINY... What the heck was I thinking before, Why hadn't I tried this sooner... I could kick my self in the ass... All I can say is GORGEOUS SEXY HAIR.. I have never read a review on this I just stumbled upon it in an ad. This product is amazing. I should have tried it the moment I received it...
It could be that my hair has red undertones naturally, but my hair came out very red. I like the color itself, just too red for me to be comfortable with. My hair is soft and shiny so I can say that part is excellent.
The color came today and I used it immediately... The color is very easy to use and gives great coverage. I only wish it were a bit darker and will ask for my next shipment to be a bit darker brown. I will recommend this to all my friends...
I was looking for great color and coverage for my grays. This product is "A Definte!"
I do however recommend, perhaps a variety of sizing, quantity, for purchase. I pulled away from repurchasing because and for example as a person with a pixie cut... the pricing is a bit too much for what I will be needing.
The color came out dark brown instead of mahogany red. It did successfully take out my old highlights which I'm extremely satisfied about but I was hoping more of a reddish hue overall.
My grey seems to be coming through in the front after 2-3 weeks. So my stylist is making a new formula to help me with my issue.
The color is great and the customer service very prompt and attentive to my needs!
I was scared to death to do my own hair but the user friendly instructions helped me step by step.
I am very happy with the color. It could be tweaked to be a little more gold. Seems slightly ashy to me. If more gold is not an option i can definitely live with this as is.
I have paid $$$ to color my hair and it would look yellow after a while. Now that does not happen. I am 58 years old with long, silky, fine, straight hair and I constantly get compliments on the shine.
The color was great, no drippy mess. The only downside is that it should be noted to leave the solution on for a little longer for those stubborn gray temple areas.

TIPS: TAKE PICTURES! Of both the hair you have and the hair you want
It may take more than one formulation to get the color you want- patience is key
Admittedly, the first time I used esalon, I sent in a bad picture of myself with lighting that was far too dark. I also only used a couple of sentences to describe what I wanted. I felt initially that I said enough, but that was apparently not the case. I used them one more time and was not impressed. NOW- customer service contacted me and we did a third formulation. I sent pictures of my hair- which was now at least 3 colors from me trying to use box colors and my grey roots. I wrote a very long paragraph about what I like, needed, and didn't want. This third formulation is AWESOME! My hair looks fantastic, with dimension, shine, and an EVEN color all over that I though was impossible considering what my hair looked like before. I can now say this is far superior to box color and just as good as my former stylist did in the salon. Thank you, esalon! :D
My color turned out great. But I won't be ordering again because the price the price is just to damn high. Also, it's
Ridiculous that IF you sign up for regular deliveries it's $10, but otherwise it's $25.
Is just too expensive.
This is the greatest idea for at home stylists. U can never find that perfect color in the stores. And going to the salon supply stores is a chore. Unless you actually know what your are doing. The color is so vibrant and doesn't damage your hair. The only thing I just cannot figure out is why does the roots blend have to be so, brown? Why are the 2 bottles so different from each other? It just doesn't make sense to me to have a color for roots, that you need to redo every month or 2, to be a color different from the rest if your head? Aside from that little peeve I'm having, I really love this company so far.
I loved the packaging and it was delivered super fast! However, the color I chose turned out to match my hair exactly so it didn't do anything for me; but the dye didn't make my hair feel damanged or anything. Overall, I would purchase this product again but next time I'll choose more carefully!
I was a little underwhelmed the first time, and felt a little better the second. But by the third application, I really enjoy using this system and the results I am getting.
My initial color did not turn out as red as I was expecting it to, so I sent an email to their customer service as I was expecting a phone call to take hours and to be on hold forever, and unfortunately the representative I was emailing with was not receptive to what I was saying and didn't seem to really care about the customers. I was so frustrated that I decided to just call anyways, despite my incredibly busy full time school and work schedule, and I'm so glad that I did. The call did not take long at all as I was expecting. The representative I spoke with on the phone was incredibly sweet and helpful and immediately had the color reformulated and sent to me. I can now say that I love this service! The color is beautiful and the dye did not damage my hair whatsoever! My hair still feels incredibly healthy and soft and I'm amazed with the quality of the dye and the customer service (by phone at least) for this company. I will definitely be purchasing again in the future and trying more of their products!
I had my stylist apply for me and it looks great...I think the gloss is great but don't t understand why you only get it for the first order?? You need it every time ...so, what's up with that?
The color was easy to apply with good instructions. It turned a little brassy and it didn't cover grey very well. Need to change color. Did review but couldn't click on submit. Don't know what the problem was.
when i told my colorist about my hair color it was too brassy and just not liking it, she fixed my color and gave me personal instructions with detail on how to apply. Thank you so much!! Love It however, work is quite slow and I have to put my color on hold until january. Ill be back....
I love my color but find it is sort if drying out my hair. I use a very good conditioner and several different products for dry hair but it is still very dry at the ends. I also have regular haircuts.
I wrote earlier however what I wrote was misinterpreted. I like the colour -your site did not give an option to say although it was darker I was pleased with that so it was decided I was displeased. My only issue was the grey overage around my face. I have a tenacious circle around my face which is white and difficult to take colour. Otherwise - i would like to continue receiving this product until I decide I no longer want to use it.
I am 64 years old and I have never found a hair color type that actually covered ALL my grey hair! Store bought, beauty shop, none of them covered the grey COMPLETELY until eSalon. I was absolutely in shock. I have talked my sister Donita Scurti (60) into trying it so you will be hearing from her.
Great colour, really vibrant. Followed the instructions to the letter but seems to lose colour quite a bit from two points of view, whites appear paler and eventually show through very quickly and also every time i wash my hair more red comes out even after quite a few washes!
I have used this product for a year now and loved every minute.

Commercial hair color has always been a problem for me because it "pulls" red.
Every hair salon color left my dark ash brown hair appearing an orange bronze. This color was not flattering to my skin tones. In addition, hair salon color left my hair feeling and looking like straw. There was no luster or shine; just dull, burnt looking bronze. I became gray by an early age, and I wanted to show some gray as highlights in my dark hair. This was a horrible idea, according to most hairdressers, who simply could not accommodate such a thing with their color wheels.
With E-salon, my hair took on not only its natural color, but also texture and body. The hair feels full and rich. My husband said it took 20 yrs off my appearance. Even my hairdresser, who grudgingly applied it for me, volunteered her opinion that this was the best color she had ever seen on my hair. I can leave some natural gray hair out of the color so that it appears as highlights. Thank you, E Salon.

I had to go to a local salon to transition from red to blond. After that I went straight back to esalon.
The only disappointment this time was that my new esalon color was a whole lot darker than the blond color I was expecting. So my light blond is now a dark-medium blonde. That's a huge shame!
I don't know if this was my mistake or the colorist change due to concerns about sending too light of a color. They did send several emails about that. I sent them pics of my new color to confirm that I wanted the lighter shade.
So I am thinking it was thier choice. That is upsetting because now I will have to pay to lighten it again.
Got the exact color I wanted and hoped for. It was beautiful. The only problem was my perfect color was too close to the gray/white I was trying to cover. It also had no contrast between my pale lily white skin tone and the beautiful blonde you created for me. I guess it's true what they say "be careful what you wish for".
I love the color and the way it covered. I wasted the extra bottle because unfortunately I read the instructions which made it sound like the second bottle was not the same so we made it up ready to use it and I didn't need it as there was extra in the first bottle so I basically wasted the extra because the directions make is sound like a two step process not like there is a second batch for free. I was bummed, but the hair did turn out great.
I like this product, it didn't wash out each week, My only issues is navigating this site to reorder. I just want to purchase without a hassle and receive my product.
I don't like the way this site is set up. I think u should be able to go in and change ur hair color by urself at anytime u like. I would like to change my hair color my hair is darker now then when I first started this plan so I need to completely redo my hair color and it won't let me do it and it is very frustrating not to be able to do so myself.
My gray is already showing and I concentrated on my temples that's where the gray is the worst. I thought the color went to much toward the warm instead of dark blonde I've posted a picture.
Almost perfect. I think I need to stop using the color block around my face. I dont like tinting my skin but sometimes grays get the color block and therefore maybe will not absorb the tint. That is my only concern. Color shade is good, other grey coverage is good. I am a little nervous leaving tint on for 40 minutes, but the grey hairs are so stubborn!!
I just wish it would last a little longer as far as the grays go. It is getting better though with the little bit of blonde that was added, maybe I need to add more now that I did the highlights to help cover up more gray? DEFINITELY not enough highlight mixture though, only enough for the top I have A LOT of hair
Color was spot on, but it fades way too quickly to last longer than 3 weeks. I use the shampoo and conditioner you send and don't wash for 48 hours after coloring. Any way to make the color last longer?
I sent an email to you guys months ago asking if y'all made anything like that At the time someone from your company told me no and I told them that it was a shame Then 4 or 5 months later could have been longer then way-lah there it was and since I am the one who planted the idea then I should be compensated for it I still have the email for proof so please pass this on to a supervisor and I will be waiting on your response Thank You
Wish there was a way to preserve color.
Color is vibrant right after use.
Quickly fades from previously bleached hair just with out door work, wetting hair daily with conditioner and water. No shampoo used.
I think this must be normal for all coloring.
Staff is helpful and knowledgeable.
Just not happy with short color life.
I don't think this can be helped since I have curly hair and have to wet and condition my hair every day.
