color was perfect, but didn't cover the grey as well as I thought it would. Trying again to make sure I didn't do anything wrong, like not leave it on long enough or something.
At 68 I needed a change. I had been dying my blonde hair red for almost a decade, covering the lightening, the highlights over the lightening and, of course, the occasional perming. I liked the white halo that framed my face at 66 yrs. old, but the dull grey that grew in behind the white was out of the question. I saw an ad rating e-Salon as the best home coloring and gave them a call. I described the color I wanted, and the sorry condition of my hair. I was astounded at the accuracy of the color, a bit toned-down red, a softer color for my aging face, total coverage of white and grey and, thanks to the packet of conditioner, a softer, less tangled mane. I can't recommend e-Salon highly enough.
I loved my 1st order of eSalon hair color! It really did have everything in 1 box. I would have given 5 stars but I had an issue with the amount of hair color in my order. Even after including a picture that shows the length & thickness of my hair, I only received a total of 2 bottles of color. One for my roots & 1 for my ends. I have very long hair, down to the bottom of my back. I just sent a request in for my next order but I requested an extra bottle for my ends. I will see what happens & let you know if I receive it.
I like the produced. A little darker then I care to have. But it is almost as good as going to the salon😀 would have been better if a friend could have helped, but I managed. I will order again, lighter next time.

My hair is very thin and short and I wind up throwing half my mixture away. Will you ever come out with the option to purchase 1/2 the product amount for smaller applications? Or is there a way to only use 1/2 at a time?? Thanks!
I love my hair color since using your product. I colored my hair 5 days ago and it looks healthy and shiny. I am a bit disappointed with the coverage of my greys though. At first I thought I finally have a product that will cover my stubborn greys, because at first it seemed as though it did. But this morning I noticed the greys coming through already. And as I said, its only been 5 days since coloring. Just a little disappointed.
I used your product for the first time and I am very pleased with the color (thanks Danielle!). I only issue was after I washed the color out and used the shampoo and conditioner provided, my hair was VERY oily and gummy. My hair looked like it was wet all day, I couldn't leave the house. The next day it was better after I used my shampoo and Conditioner but still a little oily. I need help with this issue for next time. I followed the instructions to a T.
I ordered my kit in April 2016 but waited until about 2 weeks ago to use my colour and it still gave me a beautiful result. It had been about 18 months since my last colouring from a salon. My daughter did the colouring for me and she had never done this type of thing before. The individualized instructions were amazing and she did a fabulous job because of them. Also, there were no instructions on how to dispose of the remaining colour that wasn't used.
The colour was awesome but didn't give me the right amount of red highlight that I like. I will need it tweaked on my next order. My hair turned out so beautifully soft even softer than the salon and smelled amazing not chemically like other home colours.
I will definitely buy from here again.
This product definitely stays longer to cover my grey - much appreciated - although, since I'm naturally a very dark brown, it's difficult to get the lightest blonde I want.
I really liked this and my hair doesnt feel damaged by the coloring. The last time around though the color doesnt seem to be holding as well against the greys and is fading.
Went to the hair dresser for a trim and she couldn't say enough good things about the new color. Although I would still like the color a little darker I am happy with the last change made to my color.
I'm still not happy with the color and find my gray's not covered well. The packaging and cost are very reasonable but just can't seem to get the color I'm looking for.
I've noticed that the color is starting to get a brassy look to it. I'm only dying my root with a quick cover through the rest of my hair as instructed. The top of my head is looking brassy.
I've tried many box colors and professional coloring, but none 1) lasted on the grays, or 2) matched well enough. But after finding eSalon, I'll never go back to either!
The first two times I used this was not too impressed. I felt that the first time it did not cover my grey the second time I used it it was too light. After speaking to my colourist I got the colouŕ I want and am leaving it on longer. Its perfect now. The only thing is because I dont work I feel I cant use it as often as I would like as I cant afford it. It is good quality but you gave to choose your priorities, price is reasonable if you have a steady income
I am a hairstylist by trade and love my color. My only issue is that my hair absorbs every ounce of this product when I apply it. My hair is not dry in fact it runs more to the oily side and nevertheless the resulting color is exactly what I want.
If you try this you will never go back to the drug store for color. I promise. You can get a rich brown that you can't buy anywhere else, trust me I've tried.
First order color was great lasted about five weeks 2nd order not so good. lasted less then two week. Ordered one more time to see results. Hopefully it will last more then two weeks.
The last time I used the hair coloring it only lasted about 2 weeks. The grey hair around the hairline popped through very quickly. I even leave it in longer.
My only complaint and it's really only a small thing is to have the root and end bottles labelled so that they don't get mixed up. Once I mixed them and used them I put both bottles down and when it came to the end to place the rest of the bottle on my hair I couldn't remember which was which.
You guys certainly know your business I love the color and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Next time I will be keeping it on just a tad longer to cover the gray.
First I was like dark blond before apply the esalon hair color. Second I sent pictures of the color I wanted and never was almost black like I have now. They sent me a medium brown and my hair now is almost black. I never mention I want a dark color, I mentioned want to equalize my hair color and cover a valayage with a color that match my skin tone , but now I feel so sad, I have black hair and this is so difficult to get out of the hair.
Third my hair feel so over processed and hard to comb through.
I know that you select the colors formulas based on many factors of the person, but when I called you I told to the colorist I trust on you to select the correct color for me, but how is this the one for me, it's make look like metalic girl.
The reason that I give you 3 is because of the personalize service , the kit of the products and the customer service that was wonderful when I required it.
EDIT: Before a couple of washes, the color go lighter and actuañly I love it.
The Unix thing that I going to change is the formulation, because my scalp seems to turn sensible lately and the normal dyes burn it, so the next time I will try the semi permanent formulation.
I love the product however wish I didn't have to buy a second bottle for length and ends of my hair. Unfortunately with 2 bottles I end up waisting at least 1 bottle between the 2. Wish i could use 1 bottle for it all.
Dries out hair so maybe is a bit harsh. I'd previously used non amonia based. But color matching is just as expected and blends well as it grows out. Wouldn't use more often than every six weeks.
Please stop sending and billing me I have only ordered once and the 3rd order is on the way without me Re ordering, the payments are high and I have not ordered!!!!
I am extremely pleased with the overall color of my hair however there was a concern in the front hairline possibly due to the M+S temporary color dye l was using.
I was concerned when the color turned dark when it was processing. I have had this happen one other time before; the color had ash in the color. The ash in this color left my hair dull looking. I thought I asked for a light blonde color with a neutral base. I am going to change the color to a lighter blonde with a neutral base because I love the color. This haircolor did not make my head itch, it was very creamy, it made my hair very soft so I'm going to give it a second chance.
Love this product, give great coverage, easy step by step instructions. Only complaint is that my first order was only $15 and kit came with a coloring brush tool. All orders since we're $20 and no brush.
Color was some better this time but still not as copper/red as I would like. The copper is good on the top where the roots get super gray but the sides come out too brown. Not sure what I can do about this.
easy to apply, have very fine curly hair since it has started to grow back in and it was gentle on my hair.
The only reason for 4 stars is that the color faded very quickly so i need to get the reds/copper out. Like that the product ships right to you

white cabinet! user error, right!
the color was dark, and my scalp was darker! I colored on a Wednesday, and by the
following Sunday, I saw gray! I followed the directions to a "T", so I didn't understand
the issues. Oh well.
I had dark brown hair for the first 30 yrs my life. I never had plans to color it, I thought I would just go salt and pepper naturally in my I don't 50's and I would be ok with that. Well about 2 yrs ago I started to see more and more sparkles in my hair and not the ones I wanted. The gray had come and I just couldn't handle it. My sister is a stylist but lives in another state, she warned me to be careful going from DARK brown to a lighter red brown, she told me the only way to do it would be to bleach it. I really didn't want to bleach my hair. So I called and talked to the stylist and they walked me threw a plan to get the color I wanted with out needing bleach. The first color was a lighter brown and pretty, but the second coloring, oh it is AMAZING. My hair is health and shiny and a beautiful red brown color. I get complements ALL the time and when I tell them I color it myself using eSalon, they are all shocked. My stylist sister came for a visit and is amazed at the debts of color and how healthy my hair is. I use the tinted love when I wash my hair and just cant say enough about it. Thank you thank you thank you.
2nd Try..Just used 2nd color kit. I did not get a response on changing color so went ahead and applied same.
Color looks even but has more red than I wanted. Roots blended correctly this time. I am hopeful that the brasiness from last time will not repeat after a couple of washes. Have requested change again. Hopefully it gets fixed this time.
1st Try..Its been a week since I used my first color kit. The color does not look natural and is not flattering at all with my complexiom. I am very disappointed. Did not blend my roots at all. I think they look more noticeable now. I'm still holding out hope that we can get it right. Can't walk around like this for much longer.
I would've given this 5 stars because I really love the color, but just after 2 1/2 weeks after application, my nasty gray roots started to show, and I'm not sure if it's due to my hair growing at a fast rate (which I doubt), or the grays are just very color resistant. Can somebody impart their thoughts as to why after only 2 1/2 weeks my grays would already be showing? I love the color & I love that I can go lighter without it being brassy! Am I just going to need to color more often; and isn't coloring more frequently damaging to hair? Please advise.
I absolutely love my color now that my colorist changed it by adding more intense red. The only problem is the color isn't lasting a full two weeks. By the end of the first week, blonde is starting to show and before the second week is over, 3/4 of my hair is back blonde. I'm only shampooing it once or twice a week, only washing when it's absolutely necessary. It hasn't made a difference though. I really love this color and getting it in the mail is so convenient so I don't want to stop using it. Are there any suggestions on correcting this problem?
I am very happy with the product, price and ease of application. However the color that came was a little darker than I hoped it would be. It is difficult picking out a color online. But my experience was fantastic.
Love the color! I collect complements and natural gingers think I'm one of them.
Hate the formula. It's very oily. Even after washing it twice, it sticks together, gummy with gunk and gross for about a week.
Last time I used the color, I had to get a professional blowout to clean up the residue, negating the value of this product.
I like how it's easy to apply. Like the color But I wish I can go a bit lighter. I colored my hair about a week ago and was disappointed that my gray hairs are showing.
The biggest thing I was hoping for was something that lasted a bit longer than my normal 2 weeks. I am 3 weeks out now and just starting to show root, but nothing that makes me hate to leave the house. While the smell was a bit stronger than what I normally buy, it have bought product that was just as strong. It didn't make my hair feel any different than it normally does. It was a good all around experience. My only wish is that it was a little more reasonably priced. I get why it isn't but it would be great if it was.
great color but didn't last long and faded a little to quick. I know reds tend to fade quicker and I was swimming shortly after coloring so that may have something to do with it.
I liked the product but it was a little bit too dark and it seems like there are reddish highlights, which I don't care for. If the color lasts I will reorder but in a lighter shade and I would like to add highlights to my hair as well. How much more would that be?
this was my first time ordering from esalon. i didnt think my experience would be as good as it was. when i took their color recommendation survey. i wasnt thrilled about the color it had chosen for me. i decided to upload a picture and added a few comments of the sort of color i was looking for. i did not expect anything to come of it but to my surprise someone actually contacted me. i couldn't believe it, they had said after reviewing my profile they thought the color selected would be too dark and asked if they could adjust the color to be more flattering to my skin tone. i agreed and was super nervous. i took the plunge and colored my hair according to the directions i was sent with the product. my "stylist" did a fantastic job with the color choice. it was perfect. looking forward to my next shipment!
I liked this hair color and got a lot of good compliments with this hair color. For some reason I felt it faded faster then the product I used before. I have gray around my front hair line, as it faded, I feel my hair look old and dry around that aria and I have healthy shiny hair.
I have to wear my hair up at work. Every time I looked in the mirror, I didn't like what I saw. I'm sorry, I was really hoping this product would help with the gray. I must of misunderstood the advertisement.
$27 is to much for a product I'm not 100% satisfied with. Maybe in the future I'll try again.
I was disappointed with the gray coverage given by this formula. I called and e mailed your company, explaining what I needed, and I was reassured it would be as I requested.
Color is fine but I do not know why the hair on the front by my forehead were I have the most white hair the color did not last long it lasted only 3 weeks
I'm so thrilled with my color, I want everyone to know about it. Not only is my color great, but the ease of using the color was great....along with it's texture, softness and easy handling and styling. It wasn't always this way though. My first few hair coloring experiences through eSalon were disappointing, at best. Luckily, I tried ONE more time to explain what I wanted for my hair. As of my last hair coloring, I have what resembles the hair color I've been looking for. Now I can comfortably process my hair and know I will be happy with the end result. Thank you to my colorist who put in the hours to help me out and will probably be put in a pickle to help me again in the future (and I decide on some other change in my hair). The instructions are easy to follow and concise. This is a money saver without looking shabby. Nor am I pushed into buying other products from eSalon. I can browse the site on my own time and see if there are other products I would like to try. Although, I have always enjoyed "having my hair done," this keeps me on track with my budget and is self satisfying when the mirror reflects the me I want to be. Keep up the good work and thank you. This was my third shipment. The color was just a tad to golden. I asked for the next shipment to have just a bit more chestnut brown in it. We shall see how it arrives!
The last two times I have colored my hair, I have timed it to get my hair cut right afterwards. The last time, the lady asked me how much darker red it was when I was little. This time, a different lady started telling me stories about when she had that pretty caramel colored hair and how it was a much darker color when she was little but had faded so much that someone called her dirty blonde just recently so she colored her hair for the first time ever. Both times, I chuckled and explained that I had just colored my hair within 24 hours and it wasn't natural but Esalon!
Love how the hair color applys and also covers my grays beautifully. The only strange process is when I am ready to wash it out it stiffens and changes its texture. Very difficult to wash out of hair and scalp. Need to wash out several times with shampoo and use brisk to hard pressure on scalp. I sort of deal with it because I love the results but it is odd and not so easy.
