I wanted to lift a lot of the red thats come into my hair and brighten the highlights that have dulled...this is a fabulous set. Really easy and am delighted with the end result. Highly recommend even for beginners.

I’m very happy with how the highlights turned out. The consistency of the paste made it so much easier to keep concentrated to the targeted areas compared to other products I’ve used and the toning mask after really made a difference in reducing brassy tones (other toners have been less effective yet somehow seem harsher on my hair). Great first time experience. Particularly for someone that has goofed up my hair more than once! Signing up to try more products.
Another noteworthy comment: A stylist contacted me to redirect my original selection and I really appreciate that. Instead of just selling the product, it seems eSalon wants customers to be successful in the results. Trust keeps customers.

I love having this option to do some highlighting at home. I would say go light the first time and don’t overdo it until you get the hang of it. But I was very impressed with my subtle highlights the first time and feel more confident about doing it again. Great product!

I used this to give subtle highlights round my face as I was not confident about doing the back of my head. I was pretty pleased about the effect and would recommend it as a lightener. I had it in the cupboard for 3 months before trying. Maybe I’ll try for an all over sun kissed look next time! Nice kit!

I have to say I was super nervous to try this out. I watched about 20 videos and hyped myself up to finally give it a go. I have very thick long hair. I normally get highlights and my base is a ash blonde color. My roots were a good 3”-4” grown out so I wanted to add some light back in without having to shell out $300 at a salon and endure hours of sitting there. The results were subtle but gave my hair more dimension.

I get lots of compliments on my highlights and can't believe how easy it is to highlight and maintain highlights at home using the light set. I adore the BR2+ mask, it is the only product bringing life back into my hair this bitterly dry/cold/hellish winter in ND. It makes my hair softer/smoother/stronger. Could we PLEASE get it sold separately also?? I would buy tons of it and use it weekly as I have long hair.

I tried the light set for the first time two months months ago. I wasn't sure how to apply it but I need not have been concerned as the instructions and illustrations are very clear, the light set has it's own mixing tray and is very easy to mix and apply. There are video's available on the eSalon website which are very helpful and I would suggest having a look before you make a decision. The results are excellent, looking forward to receiving my next light set in a couple of weeks.
I had nightmares worrying whether I would be able to complete the hi-lights without messing them all up, would they be too fat, too skinny, too zebra looking, would they bleed to the hair next to it without using foils? Oh my gosh...this was so darn SIMPLE and EASY. I was so excited with the outcome. After using eSalon's colors and hi-lights I couldn't keep my mouth shut for days. I have told everyone just how simple the process is and actually, it was fun too. I can rest at ease and Dream now just knowing how easy the whole color to hi-light process is. The anticipation for the next time I will need this process is exciting.

I was pleasantly surprised by the end result. Considering I was doing it by myself, it turned out pretty good. I watched the video twice. Yes, the back was a bit challenging, but it worked out. I am a dark brunette and the highlights was a nice caramel. I will definitely repeat. The products smells nice and I actually enjoyed using the toner. Got also good compliments from people at the office on virtual calls.

Love the Light Set highlights! I have received more compliments since I have been using eSalon color on my roots + highlights then I have ever with my very previous very pricey salon foil hi lights. I have never applied my own highlights before and I was a little nervous but it was so easy. The instructions were clear and the product was thick so didn't drip or make any mess. The smell was not strong and it didn't irritate my skin. I would have liked a lighter result with less warmth but my hair is quite dark and golden, plus my root regrowth was around 3" so quite a lot to lighten. I'm hopeful to get it lighter on my next application. My hair feels soft and silky and not over processed at all. I think it is value for money but I would be happier if it was a bit less.

The first time I highlighted my hair, I felt like it was too much, especially around the root area. This time, I used a light touch and blended more to the natural lines of my hair. I love it! It looks very natural. So glad I tried it a 2nd time. I loved the way the Toning Mask made my hair feel. Hoping I can use it for a once a month conditioning mask.

Loving my new highlights - so easy to do & especially love that they are the perfect ‘light’ for my custom colour. Even my husband noticed (had to teach him a new phrase - multi tonal!)

I used Light Set on my hair recently on my regrowth areas and added new ones around the back of my hair. It brightened up my hair quite a bit, which brightened up my face as well! I am in my 60's, but by using Light Set, I look years younger. I love it!!!

I had used the medium blonde light set the previous two times, but I decided to try the light blonde light kit this time since the medium didn’t lighten my naturally medium blonde hair as much as I’d like. This did the trick! I wish I had a little more color to mix later on, though, since I always seem to chicken out when I reach the top layer, and don’t add enough highlights closer to my roots. It turned out beautifully, though.

I tried the light set for the first time and it came with everything that I needed and excellent instructions. I found that I didn't do the steps fast enough for some parts of my hair and I got some brassy results. The stylist that I talked to suggested a color change and a new tint rinse and my hair looks great.

I like the highlights. The first time there wasn’t enough highlights. Second time too many🤣🤣🤣. Getting better at it now. Really good highlights.
Fun doing it, I did a full overall highlight. I tried putting more highlights around my part... Some pieces didn't turn out as great. Make sure spread it on evenly coating to get full coverage. I am going for a second try... Through practice it will get better

I was surprised how easy it was to apply and how great it came out, even on my first try! My husband said it made me look younger and my sister thought I looked more tanned. I should have done this sooner.

The products come to you on time, Super explained, the videos are of great help and the main thing the results are great, your hair is spectacular. I'm super in love with products.
Worked great!! I have rather short fine hair, so dividing pieces is quite a wrestling match. I thought my sections/slices were maybe too thick. And I was concerned that it got all over the place. And, unlike longer hair, if I did only 2 layers, it would be super obvious. So at the end, I lightly ‘dry’ brushed the tips. Gave a nice transition. Also, I have a Mirrorcle—-a mirror on a flexible cable that goes over your head—works perfectly to work with the back of your head—worth every penny.

I have always gone to a salon to get highlights and have really felt the lack over the last year. While my roots have been doing great because of eSalon, I was starting to feel my hair was colour blocked into light tips and darker roots. The highlighting kit fixed that!
I didn't follow the suggested application 100% - as I have curly hair I decided not to brush my hair first but to colour some strands following my natural curl pattern (using the hair sectioning/ horseshoe method in the instructions). It worked really well and I feel I have very natural looking sun-kissed highlights now :-)

I love this and doing it myself has gone well. The instructions are very helpful to do a nice at home balayage. I just find myself brassy and needing extra toner and leaving this toner on 3x longer than instructed.

I was terrified at first, but the instructions were so clear and the process was very easy! Before the toner mask was used, I was very nervous, but the end result was at home subtle highlights that I love!!! Perfect color combo!

Easy to apply and gives an great effect of having lots of different tones in my hair.
Yes this one is crazy and wonderful. I never would have known I could apply this on my own and I can't wait to do it again... the next time I will take a little more time. The results were great, but could have been greater have I took my time.

I decided to ask my hairdresser to apply the streaks . Very pleased.
I love the highlights....this adds so much dimension to my hair. This was my first time using this and I watched the Esalon video several times before I jumped in. The video is extremely helpful, and the next time I use this I think I will actually use my fingers to get smaller strands of hair. That's what I love about salon...I get to experiment...there are online videos which help...and I'm not paying huge salon prices to achieve the color/look I want.

I got my husband to apply my highlight kit, very few to start with but really pleased with the outcome. Next time I’ll be braver and let him add more! Not sure I would be able to apply them myself though.
was a little hesitant at first to use this but went ahead and found it amazing...Wow !!! Ive always been nervous about doing my own highlights but the kit came with easy to follow instructions and everything i needed to highlight my hair. I initially ordered the wrong colour and was contacted by a consultant who advised me which colour would be best and it turned out great :) it's early days but I've ordered another kit because I wanted to build my colour gradually but I'm really happy with how the colour has come out so far! The blonde shade looks natural with my own natural colour.
If you're thinking about doing your highlights yourself, I'd really recommend taking the plunge and using this kit!

I have now become a professional colourist! Lol....this set makes me feel like one anyway..very easy to use and pleased with the results👍
I regularly go to the salon to get highlights or balayage. With COVID, that's not possible now, howver, I still need to maintain my hair color. This lightset was easy to follow and I was able to achieve the results I want in the comfort of my house. Plus, it's way affordable than going to the salon. Will surely continue to sibscribe 😁
