I used to love this shampoo but this time it didn't lather at all. My hair didn't feel clean and I had to use conditioner to make it feel nice. Very disappointed because this was always a favorite of mine. Did you change your formula?

I was not impressed with this shampoo. It took about 10 pumps or more to get a good lather on my head. Too much work for so little result.

Unfortunately, every time I used this product, my scalp would end up itching horribly. I finally had to stop using it. I'm sure it's a fine product but something in the ingredients didn't agree with my skin and I couldn't use it. Won't be ordering it again.

While this causes a fun lather, it also strips the hair of moisture and color. Because we are dedicated to maintaining your custom color, our products are sulfate free. To increase the lather on our shampoos, simply add water to you hair after applying shampoo and massage throughout the scalp and hair.

I tried both the shampoo and conditioner, and while both were fine, they weren't as rich (as in easy to lather and distribute) as other brands, and they were more expensive. Also, I found the dispensers a little frustrating - hard to get the product out.

Many shampoos use chemicals such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate to create a foamy lather. This can often strip the hair of color or moisture, so we don't use sulfates in our products. If you need a stronger lather to get your hair clean, simply add some water to the shampoo applied on your hair and massage through your scalp. You don't get enough for your buck!!! Had to use the whole bottle on my hair right after I dyed it. had to wash & condition my hair 4 times to get all the dye out & I have extremely thick & long hair!!! Oh and even though I said I had thick & long and had highlights in my hair they didn't give me enough dye for my hair nor did it look like I even dyed my hair

This shampoo is good for retaining the original color that one dyes the hair with; however, it fails to suds up so I find myself adding more "squirts" of it until I feel enough suds are there to clean my hair.

I thought it would be so much better than my usual hair colour. I have been impressed with the packaging and the the contents but I found it left my hair difficult to comb. I did not like the shampoo or conditioner and had to do it again with my usual products

The shampoo does not lather up too much leaving my hair feel like it's not fully clean. I have to use a lot for proper coverage and cleaning.

Chemicals such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are often used in shampoos to create a lather, but it also strips the hair of color and moisture. To increase the lather with our product, simply apply some water to your hair and massage the soap through the hair and scalp.

Chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfate that are used to cause lather in many shampoos, can strip the hair of moisture and color. You can increase the lather of our shampoo by adding some water to your hair after applying and massaging through the scalp.

The first tiimes I used this shampoo, my hair was shiny and pretty afterwards. It does seem to protect color, but it leaves my hair dull, limp and not clean-feeling. I am not going to use it any longer.

It works great with the color, but takes 6-8 pumps to get anywhere near enough for my medium length hair. And even then i don't feel like there is enough lather to really get my hair clean.

When you're in a hurry, you don't need a poorly designed dispenser, it takes ages to get a good amount out. Nightmare in the shower trying to push down on the pump, I ended up unscrewing bottle and losing half the shampoo, really angry because the product isn't cheap!. Bottle looks great but sadly that's not enough, nor is the product so amazing you would tolerate the bottle for the contents

My hair seems to absorb the shampoo but it does not create much lather and it hard to rinse out. I do not like the way my hair feels afterwards unless I use the conditioner. May work better on other hair types.

I have to use about 15 pumps just to get suds and to feel like I have enough to get all of my hair. It's not work the full price for me. Just doesn't work any better than the $3.00 shampoo I can buy in stores.

Debra - We're sorry our Heart Lock-It Color Safe Shampoo doesn't offer the foamy consistency you are looking for. The foam in shampoos is often caused by sulfates which can strip color and moisture from your hair and is why we do not include them in our products. We suggest adding a handful of water to your hair after application of the shampoo if you need more of a lather to get your hair clean. We hope this information helps you in your hair care journey!

Jayne - We're sorry our Heart Lock It Color Safe Shampoo did not meet your expectation. One of the chemical groups that causes lather in shampoos and other soaps is sulfates; however, they can also dry out your hair and strip hair color from your strands. Because of this, our shampoo is sulfate-free and does not have the same lather as some other brands. If you need a stronger lather with our shampoo, we suggest adding a small amount of water to the shampooed hair and massaging the scalp.

I was not as happy with the shampoo as I was the conditioner. It left my hair feeling dried out. It smelled good though and I like the bottle it comes in. I wont be buying it again though.

AK27 - Our Heart Lock-It Color Safe Shampoo is a sulfate-free, color safe shampoo. Sulfates are typically the ingredient in shampoo that cause it to foam - however it also dries out your hair and causes hair color to fade. Because our shampoo is sulfate-free, it does not foam like other shampoos and will keep your color intact.

This shampoo is terrible! Even when I tried to use it to wash out the hair color it wouldn't lather. After care was about the same results. I won't be purchasing this shampoo again.

Patti - Thanks for bringing the issue you’re having with the dispensing pump on our Heart Lock-It Color-Safe Shampoo to our attention. The dispensing pump has a twist-locking mechanism to keep it locked until you open it, so to unlock the pump, simply turn the silver ring clockwise until it is secured tightly and twist the head of the pump counter-clockwise for a quarter turn. Weighs down my hair

I do have fine hair, but quite a bit. I use this conditioner 1 or 2 times a week, but spaced out. If I use it twice in a row then my hair looks greasy and weighed down. And I only use conditioner on my ends. Not the roots. I do use the Leave-in Conditioner after every shower though.

This shampoo is very gentle, but even after two washes my hair doesn't feel clean. I have baby fine, fragile hair and try to only wash it every other day, but this product never makes my hair feel good - it feels weighed down.

So I use the packets with each dye kit that comes and love them, but for some reason the stuff in the bottle doesn't lather up well. It seems like I pump and pump and pump shampoo out and it just doesnt lather. I wash my hair twice trying to get a good lather. I do wash my hair every other day so I will try to see if every day works better, but I have never had this problem with ther shampoos. I do like the finished result I just would like to feel like I am lathering up the hair like it does with the packets.

This shampoo is difficult to use if you have long hair or your hair is at all thick. I regularly use 8 or 9 pumps to get enough to clean my hair, and the amount that comes out with each pump is what I'd use on a baby's head. I won't buy this again.

The only thing I wasn't aware of when I purchased it was that it didn't lather up well. I have had other sulfate free shampoos that are the same way so I get it but I like a lathering shampoo. I didn't really notice that it made a lot of difference with keeping the color any longer then other shampoos though.

I've never purchased their shampoo before so I thought I'd give it a try... Worst decision. I have to use 30 pumps of it just to get my whole head covered and lathered. Even after that it doesn't feel clean. I will never be ordering this product again. Very poor quality.

The pump will not open (had no trouble with the conditioner bottle!). I can not get this product to spread through my hair. I used to wash my hair every other day and now I have to go back to washing it everyday - one day I wash the top, the next I wash around my neck.

Instead of using a dime or quarter size amount, I have to use waaaaaaay more than I use to just to make sure is making enough foam and just to end with my hair dull, and hard.

No better than an average light conditioner. My hair has become very dried out with the dyeing, and this is not a deep conditioner. I will not order it again.
