Works well as long as you don't use too much. I apparently used too much the first time I used it. Since then, I use only a tiny bit and it helps smooth my hair. Might repurchase it.
This is gorgeous makes my hair when i had long hair for it to be less tangly, it felt so soft and lovely. I still got half a tube left after a year or more brilliant stuff.
Velvet Primer has brought out the natural waves in my hair, it also makes my hair feel and look thicker, shinier and more manageable, without the frizziness!

I have tried many different primers and they were always either too heavy, too greasy or just didn't work. This one is the BEST PRIMER EVER. It is lightweight, not greasy, and works exactly as described. I can't tell you how much money I have wasted on trying to find the right products for my hair. Esalon has really changed my hair for the better. Their products are truly superior to anything I have ever tried.

I have very coarse, wavy short hair that I keep straight all the time. The Velvet Primer is great when you're hair is wet or dry. I've tried both. I have the frizzies and this helps smooth it out. This and Triple Prep are amazing.

It really does control my frizzy hair!!! I use just a small dap. I work it into my whole wet head of hair then apply my other hair products and blow dry. Don’t over use because it can make your hair heavy and flatten your hair styling . Velvet Primer and Tint Rinse are my favorite products!!!

I cannot believe how amazing this Velvet Primer is. I have 57 year old grey/coloured hair that goes so frizzy in the slightest damp conditions. I have purchased what feels like every product over the last 30 years that promises to tame it but nothing has worked (somehow that has not stopped me wanting or continuing to buy products!). This keeps my hair straighter and frizz free for about 3 days - previously I was needing to wash my hair every other day. It is easy to use and makes me have a big smile on my face all day, thank you.

made my sweaty..after running, to God's glory,hair which was a bit frizzy and very unstyled , look smooth..unfrizzed and look styled! i recommend it!! after a shower i put on damp hair and it made my hair look smooth and silky once it dried

I bought this for days I don't condition my hair after washing in the shower. I apply a small amount and my hair feels nice and silky and not heavy. Really takes the frizz out and leaves a nice shine. Without this my hair looks dull so I would definitely recommend this. Start with a little to see how it works for your hair but I love this product.

I have wavy hair that gets very frizzy during the hot and humid NJ months and wanted to see if the Velvet Primer would work as well as my current brand of smoothing product. I was surprised at how much I like it! The Velvet Primer doesn't weigh my hair down or make it feel greasy. I also love that there isn't a heavy scent. I will definitely buy this again!

It was really good and my hair hasn't looked that smooth for a long time. Would recommend it!
I just added this to my color subscription. Thought I'd try it out. I live in NC with humidity and my hair is naturally wavy/sometimes borderline curly...so it frizzes with humidity. I don't like using hairspray or much goopy product on my hair. I absolutely love this product. It is not sticky, no strong smell, it makes my hair very soft and if I scrunch my hair with it...it just makes nice curls with no frizz. If I straighten my hair with it, it just keeps fly-aways down and leaves a nice polished finish with no frizz as I go through my day. Highly recommend this and it's so affordable!

I never really write reviews but was so pleased that this product has really helped my hair in our unusually humid English weather at the moment! Game changer 😍
This has become a must-have in my styling routine! I have stubborn waves that are difficult to blow out and straightening with a flat iron was drying my hair out. This has helped tremendously and leaves my hair soft and manageable. It's not heavy or greasy and has a wonderful scent. You only need a little so a tube lasts a long time. I'll definitely order again!

I live in the Deep South and have dry, curly hair. Bad combination and lots of frizz. Added the Velvet Primer to my last order and have used it only twice but I am so happy with how it moisturizes my hair and controls frizz with only a pea size amount. Love the feel of my hair.

This is my favorite hair product! I have curly, many times frizzy hair and my hair looks great when I use this. It gets rid of my frizzies while making it feel so soft. I use it exactly as directed- a pea sized amount. Once I squeezed out about double and it made my hair look terrible, so I recommend following the directions.
